  1. @Matt Were you able to keep your originally booked stateroom and cruise planner purchases?
  2. Vanilla extract DOES have alcohol in it. Just bought 32 oz from Spice House. Double Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla.
  3. I get plenty of promotional emails from Celebrity, but zilch from Royal, other than Cruise Planner related purchases.
  4. It's funny. It may be that empty nest, no grandchildren stage of life that you'll find me on Celebrity. Then back to RCCL for the grandchildren. ?
  5. @melmar02 WOW! Welcome to the Boards and a big Thank you for sharing. Don't know how it compares to the RCCL MDR, but this looks killer. Going to make for Christmas get togethers. I like that this has FRESH spinach, which I always have. I never have frozen on hand.
  6. Wicked Grove is mighty mighty tasty.
  7. @Scott MScott, do you have any news to report on the cruise? I'm hoping that, it too, was a glitch in the system.
  8. @melski94 and @Lovetocruise2002 Thank you so much for posting your replies. Okay, so I've compared the letter from the concierge to the list on the website for suite benefits. The one thing that I noticed missing from the letter is the reservations for galley tours, ship tours, Etc. Is the concierge not offering to make those reservation anymore? And, it looks like the website shows those tours as being complementary for Grand Suite and above guests. Is that also not the case anymore? During the Black Friday Mayhem event, I booked the All Access Tour. After going to the website and seeing the suite benefits I'm not so sure I needed to book the tour in the CP in the first place.
  9. Can you update us, please? Been thinking about your situation.
  10. Has anyone on these boards participated in this excursion: Alaskan Fishing & Wilderness Dining. I'm liking the idea of being on a skiff (means less people, usually) than on a larger salmon/halibut excursion boat. Any thoughts? We are currently booked on the Knudson Cove Salmon excursion. Here's a screenshot (how do you make these smaller??):
  11. In a nutshell, the RCCL C&A status will be honored commensurately by Celebrity, but no additional nights will be earned for RCCL status, yes? If so, will I earn those nights towards Celebrity loyalty status? I've referred to this blog post answer by @twangster:
  12. I have not seen refundable deposits being offered lately. Probably can still get via TA, non suite?
  13. They won that game and a few others after that, but.... Hopefully, the Lou will get one of the two MLS expansion teams. I have hope for the Cards. Blues, nope.
  14. I hate to be the party pooper, the bearer of bad news, the fly in the oinment, etc. . . BUT! It's back on my CP, the $49.99 "deal" - as of 11/28 1800 hrs.
  15. It was. I actually had a reservation for it on our Radiance OTS sailing until I changed our dining to the ultimate dining package. This is been a crazy week on the cruise planner, for sure! Edit: regular rezi for a la carte, not the $49.99
  16. WOW!! @WAAAYTOOO and @marti314!! Yes, NO MENTION OF IZUMI ANY WHERE ON MY CP!! Okay, so now where does that put it in the Ultimate Dining Package? Izumi is the reason WHY I purchased the UDP for my family (during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale). What in the world is going on with dining????
  17. Reminds me of the old Folgers coffee crystals commercials:
  18. Hi @tiny260! Yes yes yes!! Persistence definitely paid off today!! I was able to reprice my 2020 Alaska cruise and save $200 (zapped a $100 OBC from Royal, but I'll take the money up front). For my 2019 Alaska sailing, by rebooking CP purchases, we saved (refunded) a little over $375. Included in that was repricing shore excursions, cancelling the 5 night dining package at $105 and replacing it with the Ultimate dining package at $126/pp. The additional amount will cover a sea day lunch, plus another sea day lunch. Also, a few days prior we were able to reprice the refreshment package from $26 to $17 (from initial booking of $18). And VOOM S&S 3 Device had dropped by $50 (from the week charge) slowly over the last few weeks, with this week coming in at $24.99/pp/pd. I admit that I was more than pessimistic about the announced sales this week, however, I prefer to eat my crow with lemon juice and capers and will admit it: All in all a good week's worth of sales! ?
  19. ARGH!@!!!W@!@!@ I can't get in today!!! Got in. See below. WOOT!
  20. Question from a DCL convert: are the promotional chips marked different from the regular chips?
  21. To your point "for $50 this doesn't sound like a very good deal:" that's precisely the reason I'm thinking the a la cart pricing will be going up. Agreed, that's really not much for $50.
  22. Hmmm not so sure about that after all. It says that this prix-fixe is a cruise planner exclusive, only available by purchase on the CP. Just not sure about this. . . I don't think you could use a dining package with this. I don't think they could change the verbiage on any of the dining packages purchased before these changes. I suspect the a la cart pricing is going up. I wonder if this is an additional option at Izumi with the a la cart pricing/$35 on dining packages is still in effect: Fixed price is per person, applies to select menu items and includes (1) miso soup, (1) choice of starter, (1) choice of signature roll or ramen, (5) pieces sashimi or nigiri, and (1) choice of dessert. Choices are limited to current menu offerings in the specific menu category listed. No substitutions allowed. No discount or refund will be given for unused courses. All other menu items may be purchased for an additional change.
