  1. If my daughter joins us, we’ll drive to the port. If not, I plan to use SAS transportation. Thoughts?
  2. Well there’s a garage for terminal 1 now and I loved it!
  3. Was a firm believer in off site parking but our Harmony cruise in March out of PC, I bit the bullet & parked in the terminal garage. OMG it was about $45 more than off site but soooooooo convenient! Pulled in about 10:40 & were all checked in & in the waiting area 15 minutes later. Off the ship @ 9am & on the highway by 9:15. Worth every penny.
  4. I currently have reservations at the Four Points Sheraton ($190) and the Springhill Suites ($225) both in Dania Beach for our October Explorer cruise out of POM. Not a bad price & Marriots usually have a good standard of quality.
  5. I think I would ask RC dining dept about this. Pureed food for an adult is not necessarily good for a baby. I understand that bringing baby food on board would be tough but I would want to be sure that whatever they could make would be appropriate for babies.
  6. Nope, if you want a reservation for each night, you have to make a reservation for each night.
  7. Regardless of what a RCCL phone agent tells you, 5:30 is traditional dining. You don’t have to make any further reservations because that locks you into 5:30 dining each night. You can also get late traditional dining at 8:00 each night. As neither of those options work for me, I have my TA set up My Time Dining. I then go into my cruise planner and select 6:30ish for every night. I show up and am seated at the same table within 10 minutes of arrival. I could also select a different time for every night if I choose. You cannot do that with traditional dining, if you miss your 5:30 time slot, you go to the back of the line behind people with NO reservations and can face a lengthy wait for a table.
  8. We always stop. That’s the 1 picture I always purchase showing who went on what ship when.
  9. We had a very good experience in March but perhaps not typical. Arrived at 10:45, no line at the security check, into the suites line, again no wait. Boarding began 11:15ish. If we hadn’t stopped for pictures, we might have been the first on board.
  10. Be aware, even though you have a 10:30 arrival time, that does NOT mean the ship will be cleared for boarding at that time. That is your check in time not your boarding time.
  11. My guess is no. They won’t be allowed in the teen club but teen activities are pretty loose so they could probably just tag along on those. Very unstructured.
  12. Crossbody bags, don’t leave home without them!
  13. Cortrans or Cruise Control Transportation. $20-25 per person, 13 passenger mini buses, safe clean and reliable. Pick you up at the terminal & drop you at the airport.
  14. You can also watch for the mass exodus as everyone goes to check out their room/drop off carry ons.
  15. FWIW, I thought the iced tea was fine.
  16. We each had our passports, vax cards and hard copies of negative test results & set sail passes in hand. We breezed through terminal check in, probably less than 15 minutes total including taking our pictures.
  17. I am going to call Allianz & ask but I know many of you have experience in this area. After the cluster you know what with my brother, I am going with better insurance for our future cruises. My agent sent a list of coverage levels with a brochure for each but ins language is Greek to me (took French in school ). We fly down mostly during winter months so I want a policy that covers weather related delays/cancellations. I can live with FCCs as I don’t mind a reason to book another cruise. I also don’t think we cruise enough to make an annual policy work. Any thoughts, guidance, helpful hints are welcome and appreciated.
  18. For us, it’s cheaper to buy a better third party insurance company than to pay for air2sea. My brother & nephew were unable to get to Florida because of 2 days weather related flight cancellations. Not covered by the standard policy offered.
  19. Royal’s insurance does NOT cover flight cancellations for any reason. Because of this, we will be purchasing trip insurance privately from now on. More expensive but we cruise in the winter mostly & need coverage for weather related flight issues. Found out the hard way that Royal’s does not.
  20. Cortrans or Cruise Control Transportation
  21. I have been watching our 8 day Explorer cruise in October since we booked last year. Even on Black Friday, it has never dropped below $73 (pre gratuities). Too much for me. Our party of three would spend over $2000 on it.
  22. This was ours in March, Owners Suite. Plenty of room for it. Have it added to your reservation and let the concierge know when they contact you. Ours was in the room when we boarded.
  23. It really isn’t as impressive as you might think. Preprogrammed drink recipes, ingredients hanging over the prep area, arm holds a cup under the appropriate bottle & presses the cup up to dispense. Shake it up a little & put it in a slot.
