I've got a growing list of planned  purchases for a Christmas cruise. I've read numerous comments here on Black Friday purchases. My plan has been to spread these out over the months to lessen the impact on the budget. But I'm beginning to think a wiser plan would be purchase them on Black Friday. These include drinks packages, internet, All Access ship's tour. shore excursions, The Key, and whatever else jumps up. Is this wise, risky, what?

If u buy key there's no need to buy internet too.

  2. @twangster i only been on a princess cruise 10 years ago, a rc cruise last year and a rc cruise coming up. Last year my boyfriend and I only had one Shore excursion planned and had a lot of free time to relax and hang out in the casino. This upcoming cruise is like the opposite with a lot planned. From one extreme of no planning to another extreme of over planning?

On one hand I wanna do all that is planned on the other I want to make sure there will be time to hang out in the casino! After all like u said its a vacation.

  3. Hello All,

Looking at the schedule of me and my boyfriends upcoming cruise in Dec 2019. And thinking it seems kinda hectic to me. Have few nights of specialty dinning planned, a Shore excursion for each of the 4 ports, and spa activities for at least 3 nights of the cruise. Having day and night planned with an activity seems like it would be exhausting. Am I overbooking me and my boyfriend? My question is is with a full day and a 2 hour dinner and hopefully see a show at night for entertainment, will me and my boyfriend be to tired to hit the casino at night?

I wanna know anyone else who has planned most of the cruise days and the pros and cons. And any advice would be appreciated.

    Happy Cruising.

  4. Prepaid gratuities are great. Instead of gratuities being added daily to ur onboard spending account. That way u can break up the cost of trip instead of a bill at the end of cruise. On the last night my boyfriend and I gave a cash tip to the waiter and assistant waiter in the main dining room, the room attendant, and the casino bartender who was always making us drinks..they really made our cruise special.

  5. I love inside cabin. It keeps the cost of cruise down for me and my boyfriend. On adventure of the seas last year the room was not as small as I imagined. We managed. We didn't stay in the room as much anyway, only to sleep and shower and nap.  Booking an inside cabin means we get to cruise more often then having to book other then inside. It also means for us like u said getting to purchase packages. On Rhapsody in Dec we booked deluxe drink packages for both us(Even though I'm on medications I can enjoy an occasional drink so instead of refreshment package imma get the deluxe), specialty dining (bogo, izumi, and chefs table) Shore excursion for each of the 4 ports, messages, the key, and some spa activities. Needless to say I'm excited. And a bit of a planner. Hopefully we won't be too tired when I planned most of the 7 days of the cruise?

Idk but my boyfriend thinks the cruise ticket and drink packages is all we need. He's onboard with Shore excursions too but all the other things like the shave for him and pedicure for me he thinks is extra. I just want to keep busy and even though we love a good casino I want to do other things other then put the main focus on gambling. I'm sure my boyfriend is going to have to convince me to get out of casino on most nights. anyway...

    Happy Cruising.

Here is a table with the benefit comparisons for Casino Royale.

WOW. Prime gets you an annual inside comp room! I'm in! My upcoming cruise in Dec 2019 my casino budget is 700 a night.... Hoping that will jump me to Prime at the very least. That means no Atlantic City trips til next year to afford my cruise casino budget. I guess I have to wait and see what comp casino royal will give. Last year got a 300$ comp toward cruise and I only spent 100 to 150 a night in the casino on Adventure of the seas.

In any case this post got me thinking... Would it be stupid if I go on night one of my upcoming cruise and go see a casino host? What are my options with my budget?

  7. I didn't have any problems when me and my boyfriend went on a Rc cruise last year. We checked the tv fairly often. The only thing is with the drunk package the total was always zero. In Dec 2019 when we go on another Rc cruise imma ask for receipts for every drink? I want to see if the 850$ for drink packages for 2 is worth it? Or will it be annoying to get receipt every single time?

My first cruise with Royal Caribbean was in May 2018 on the Adventure of the Seas. I cruised with my boyfriend on our first vacation together. I fell in love with the ship and cruising. Casino on that ship was nice, clean, and friendly staff. But you should know the staff on the whole ship was amazing. Especially I felt our Room Attendant did an over the top amazing job. Casino bar and Pool bar was my favorite. But you should know there are plenty of bars all over the ship to get a drink. Overall great amazing time on Adventure of the Seas. Would recommended and cruise again on Adventure of the Seas. Back to cruising life when you go too in Dec 2019 on Rhapsody of the Seas ship. Needless to say we are counting down 293 days.

    Happy Cruising.

  9. Hello All,

Second cruise with RC will be with my boyfriend again in Dec 2019 out of Tampa. We have a Shore excursion at every port and are doing a fun cheap Sushi class on a sea day and a cupcake decoration fun cheap class on the other sea day. Needless to say we are excited for this cruise in 300+ days.

My question is is since we are flying to Tampa from NY day of the cruise how long is the Tampa airplane terminal to the cruise terminal by cab? Like half hour/hour? The cruise leaves at 4pm Dec 7, 2019.

Also, side note called RC and turns out my boyfriend can purchase the deluxe bev package and I can purchace tge refreshment package since I don't drink due to meds I take.

And any info on the casino on Rhapsody of the Seas we would love.

Attached is the itinerary. We are so excited! Any info would be appreciated.

  10. 2019 May cruise. Ports are as follows

    Kings Wharf

    Phillipsburg-st.maarten

    San Juan

    Labadee

with the exception of Labadee, are there any casinos my boyfriend and I can go to at the port of kings wharf, philipsburg-st.maarten, and or San Juan. Any input would be greatly appreciated. We picked a shore excursion for each port, but, if there is a casino in any port we would rather opt out of the shore excursion and go to a casino instead.
