  1. Whats the name of the spray people take with them to remove wrinkles?
  2. In Europe data roaming charges have been removed, if i travel to France or Spain etc i use the package i have in UK with no additional costs. An idea for anyone travelling from outside Europe to the MED or Baltic areas for a cruise would be to purchase a PAYG sim card with a lot of available data when you land in country you are sailing from. May not work on ship but will when on land
  3. Laidback wanderer :) strange it mentions if im in paris ( been there 5 times) and also mentions puerto Rico ( sailing out of there) think im being spied on
  4. You mention that crews are just NOT lucky enough to be born in a 1ST world country! USA is meant to be a 1st world country YET they have the same ridiculous wage structure for waitress staff etc in restaurants as cruise ships do for their staff. As long as it's legal for companies to pay what is basically nothing to staff they will do it.
  5. There was a show on UK television last week which follows a cruiseship for weeks, it is a Princess ship that they are filming and the HARD SELL is on there also its not just RC that it happens. Every company not just cruiseships and no matter the industry wants to get extra £££££££ or $$$$$$$$. The show highlighted the fact that Staff have set targets to reach, be it for excursions, drinks packages or anything else they can sell at over the top prices to passengers, obviously not hitting targets can be seen as not doing their job properly as it would in any place of work. If a car salesman continually fails to hit their target they may find themselves looking for a new job, those doing the hard sell on ships are in the same position, failure to hit targets may result in no new contract.
  6. when i worked in middle east i had guys from india, pakistan, working for me, their basic wage was about £150 a month, guys from Philippines were on double that about £300 a month i was shocked when i discovered this but they told me not to worry as back home they would only get half that so they were actually rich I also know someone who works for aida cruises they earn $900 a month ( not sure if that includes tips) , given that that average wage in PH is about $150 per month there isnt a lot coming over them, yes they send money home but they also manage to buy new sneakers every months, shop in pandora, drink in staff bar and when in port go out to eat and drink etc in places like hard rock cafe, then post all their photos on Instagram.
  7. you have to wonder though. if she had managed to get her leg over during the cruise would the other things have been so bad? Was it simply the lack of sex that annoyed her the most and because of this everything was escalated?
  8. A few random questions that hopefully someone can answer Arrive at JFK airport at 23.20pm from UK then fly out to San Juan at 8am next morning, done flights this way to maximise the time available in San Juan, given the time it will take to go through customs to enter US it's not worth while booking a hotel for 4 or 5 hrs just to head back to airport. Noticed Wingtips Lounge in Terminal 4 where Delta fly out of, mixed reviews so is it worth booking this lounge for a few hours to get some sleep and food or will normal departure seating areas be ok? also any showers in JFK available at this time of night/morning? Arrive in San Juan 2 days before cruise any recommendations on things to do, must see etc, not bothered about excursions, we like walking about seeing the sights and getting lost,? also is it safe to walk about at night and any areas to be avoided? staying in old san juan near cruise port. 1st time cruiser so when boarding should we look at getting to pan american terminal early as we wont have a clue whats going on? Once on board whats the first thing a new cruiser should do (apart from get a beer)? Flight back to JFK is mid afternoon, dont fancy going to airport hours in advance if sju airport has very little to do in it, also don't fancy dragging suitcases round shops, so would it be better to stay on ship a while then heading to airport, if so whats the latest you can stay on ship and more importantly when do they stop serving alcohol? or are there excursions which can be done from port before flight. Thanks in advance Ray
  9. Obviously all those who would have voted for RC were at the time of vote on a cruise enjoying themselves unlike the carnival voters :)
  10. yip us jocks are shafted lol i use Cruise118 as a TA pretty good and will price match and throw in 6 bottles of red to help ease the pain of the fact the money in your bank account has vanished. i also use the Topcashback site as RC is listed on it, so i check price with RC by going through topcashback site, work out how much i would be repaid by going through topcashback( usually about £100 ) then get cruise118 to match best price on screen then give me the £100 i would have received as cash payback as a further reduction. With price match and cashback discount i saved about £200 doing this
  11. visited NY for 1st time in july, saw lots of bums, wino's and litter filled streets but as hard as i tried i just couldn't find any hookers
  12. i organise everything myself, dont really worry about who i fly with, best has been Philippines airlines followed by iceland air, worst trip i had to organise was 20th wedding anniversary, took my wife 2 paris for 2 days on way back flight stopped at heathrow for connection home so planned it so instead of heading home we headed to singapore for 2 days, manila for 2 days then a spa resort in mactan ( Philippines ) for 5 days. had 12 flights in 14 days which was a nightmare trying to schedule, flight from paris to london got cancelled on day we were travelling there, luckily i had wedding certificate to show it was anniversary and airline company got us out of paris on time to catch singapore flight, wife didnt have a clue and was happy to stay in paris an extra night, lets just say she wasnt to happy that i was begging airline to get me home lol
  13. @Sabrinaklai thanks just checked delta, need to wait 6 days until i can get return date but price looks good plus there's free drink onboard
  14. when is the best time to book flights from JFK to San Juan? and a rough idea of cost. right now only united showing for Nov 2018 and tickets are about $1000 pp
  15. Wasnt me :) was twangster who saw it, im surprised he wasnt like james bond sliding on a rope between ships
  16. he can go undercover which is more than the lady on the balcony was lol
  17. i want to see twangsters video of his post from other thread as mentioned below :)))))) On this trip in Antigua the new MSC Seaside was across the pier from us. An older woman on the large side was on her balcony right across from us in plain view as she was people watching on the pier between us. She was completely naked. Some things can't be unseen.
  18. the main difference i would imagine is the cost to get to these cruises, it must be great to stay just a short drive from ports so there is no additional cost. the additional cost of flights can be more than the cruise itself, RC quoted me £1200 pp to fly from uk to san juan, cruise only cost £900 pp
  19. we do :( not just the cost of cruise but also getting there! Also once its booked thats it, we cant go back and get a better deal if one is advertised a month after booking So they throw in the drinks package to temp us, as they know us brits will get our monies worth at the bar lol
  20. it wont be on your cruise planner as such, go onto cruise documents and check details it should be added onto there in the fine print. your receipt will show drinks package added as a cost then deducted as a promotion, then further down it will say all inclusive as an included item. i had same issue and called RC to check it, i dont advise calling RC in the UK as calls are charged and i done it from mobile, £20 for a 5 minute call
  21. As long as it's cold, alcoholic and in a glass it doesn't matter what it is :)
  22. i have deluxe drink package for freedom in Nov, it's a $12 limit per drink, anything over that you pay the difference.
  23. you don't need to put on airplane mode, just switch off "data roaming" this means that all email, text messages etc are blocked but phone will still ring in case of emergency back home
  24. priced the above cruise on RC UK Site, $1915.29 for inside stateroom, compared to $1285.15 on blog. It's ridiculous the difference in price we have to pay :(
  25. My First time to Caribbean in Nov, so more info the better :)
