Everything you just said only reinforces why so many people find such conduct to be selfish, self-centered, boorish, and classless.... not to mention rude.

Actually, Cookie10*, you are the one who is unreal. You have a total disregard for the RC pool rule of "no reserving deck chairs/loungers" as well as total lack of respect for fellow cruisers. My question for you is, what makes you so special?

ellcee reacted to coneyraven in Guide to Chair Hogs
You then, are part of the problem .... and if you can't see that, then I can't help you. for all those times you were in the restaurants, in your cabin, someone else, who also paid their cruise fare, could be enjoying the lounger.

Now on the subject of dinner, tonight was sitting at the sushi bar/counter at Izumi
Shrimp Firecracker Spring Roll
Tuna Wasabi
Assorted Sashimi Combo
Champagne Yuzu Lobster Roll
Izumi Spider Roll
Never be afraid to ask for subutitions. Great example is calamari and possibly octopus doesn't agree with me. As such I always request to have octopus substituted on the combo. Same thing applies with minor ommisions with rolls and such.

ellcee got a reaction from monctonguy in Price Drop..Oasis Drink package 02-2020
Right?! I have a cap in my head of what I'm willing to spend per day...and it may include a few extra $$ for convenience. $82 just seems ridiculous unless you are someone who can hold your liquor for days on end.

Odyssey bookings are holding at $82. ?

We are on the Oasis February 9th 2020 and I've been casing the drink package prices multiple times a day! It was $55 for the longest time, then went up to $59 and today it is $51. I think this is the lowest it might get. So we bought it. ? Check your prices!!

Good morning! We have a late morning arrival in St John today, so I’m going back to sleep for a bit, lol.

I just found out that our medical emergency did not have a positive outcome, the gentleman passed away yesterday. ?

Yes, definitely.

Loved this review. Would you say Celebrity is more low-key than RC?

Got something planned. Might not be as amusing from that previous one.

Gimme that filet - saying that I'm four months into eating mostly plant based.

Also on this segment I'll be taking advantage of the Unlimited Dining Package.
The only traditional venue open for lunch boarding day is Chops. Unless you count Playmakers and The Bamboo Room for their snack offerings.
Meal started off with some bread, pretzel rolls and think an onion roll
Next up was the carpaccio
Finally the caesar salad with filet. Note for this they had brought out an entire filet, for ease and presentation I did some carving.
This time around I passed on dessert. Figured I'll have a few more opportunities. On another note Chops had a good crowd, work estimate 10 to 12 tables were occupied. Only negative I could point out was the use of a single waiter and and assistant.

ellcee reacted to AshleyDillo in RCB Group Cruise 2020 Questions?
Group Cruises are great because you can enjoy your own cruise experience within your family and decide to participate or not with the schedule group activities. Typically they will have a meet up the night before the cruise in the debarkation city..and often locals will show up and hang out even if they aren't cruising. Sometimes are able to organize a group hotel available which makes it convenient and then there's a possibility of an organized shuttle to the port.
Part of the perks of being with the group is that they will schedule things such as cocktail parties where we get to be "those people" and go past the sign that says RESERVED FOR PRIVATE EVENT. Usually there's a group excursion opportunity as well. On the Thanksgiving Symphony cruise last year we got to participate in the podcast recording down in the conference center. Roller skating sessions, ice skating sessions, bumper cars are all things I've seen. @Matt also tries to organize something exclusive for the Insiders (https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/support) to participate in.
But I think the impromptu events tend to be just as much part of the fun. They set up a chat group so folks can connect with each other during the cruise. There was a fun bar crawl and a cabin crawl that was organized on the Symphony, impromptu laser tag session on Mariner. And I always knew I could turn up to the pub at night and run into someone from the group.
I've found the group rates ended up being better since they got locked in so early and it's refundable til the 90-days out mark.
Plus you get to meet @AnnetteJackson from MEI travel and she is a blast to hang out with!

Same. I spent a lot of time there, reading when it was too cold to be outside on my sea days from Bermuda.

I love 270. I think it's such a wonderful space. Whether there is a show on or not, I just love being in there.

Boy do these three day sailings fly by. Adding to the fast pace dynamics is every day being a port day.
One major accomplishment was finally bumping into @CHRIS WONG. Great guy and a pleasure to chat with. Had some interesting things to mention some of the unknown benefits. If you haven't already check out his channel on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxgWpP7nDIIS_NMiEVH0R1g
Also finally earned the mark of shame for breaking a glass. Guess I missed the edge of a counter by just a hair.
Good thing, glass only had ice in it.

Back on the ship and finally busted out the laptop for some photo consolidation.
I have to say it has been great being able to see the progress the CocoCay has made.
Starting off with the infamous tower and sign
Some photo editing freedom...
Skipper's Grill with Up, Up, and Away
Oasis Lagoon
Bathrooms over by Oasis Lagoon, notice the lockers
Closeup of the lockers, all use a settable PIN code and are of no cost.
Some of the beach beds, close by the area of the floating bar.
Loved the sign warning that you're entering a WIFI dead zone.
Construction barrier for the Coco Beach Club work
Only noticeable construction feature. You could hear some noise, but I wouldn't call it bothersome.
Always nice getting back to an empty ship

Remainder of the night in a nutshell...
Dinner in Windjammer
Back to the room to charge up my phone
Windjammer recon, evening snacks edition
Adult beverage prior to The Quest
The Quest, had some new to me material
Few adult beverages in the Pub
Witnessed the Pub guitarist get shut down for the night. Go figure everyone shows up 10 minutes before 1 am.
Casino time at the Craps table ($10 minimum for pass line, $25 for double odds, $50 for 2-3-5 odds)
Snack at Cafe Promenade
Back to the Casino for three card poker, casino closed at 4am.
Snack at Cafe Promenade, pizza stopped at 3 am. Listened to an argument over someone wanting salami and their partner not wanting them to get it.
Then finally this post...
While is was a slow day it quickly became a busy evening. Hard to believe it is now officially the last day of the cruise.

Today was probably the first time I've never gotten off the ship when docked. I just didn't have any plans. Walking around the ship in the afternoon it seemed many stayed on as well.
Did have one mission, try to capture the sunset. However it seemed the clouds had plans to obstruct a direct view.
Current situation is enjoying some snacks in the Suite Lounge prior to dinner.
Nice touch having the hot items already on a skewer.

ellcee reacted to KathyC in Sailing Celebrity Through the Eyes of a Royal Caribbean Cruiser
Oh, I almost forgot! See, I knew there would be more. There isn't a "morning show" with the cruise director and activity manager, but there is something recorded nightly that shows throughout the day on the Celebrity Channel.
Look who was playing the slots while they were filming it one evening. ?
