  1. Good to hear! Thank you. It's the only port on my cruise I haven't been to and I'd like to think positively about it.
  2. That's awesome!!! Everyone is so underwhelmed by Nassau - I'd like to get off the boat but don't want to be disappointed.
  3. Let me know how you like that...I'll keep it in mind for July.
  4. I'm pretty sure they do since my Harmony trip is stopping there next July.
  5. This is normal for women in salons. Any big updo they want 'dirty' hair. What's weird is that it's a blow and style. What are they blowdrying if her hair has been previously washed. Not asking you to answer just confused.
  6. So that people who don't check as religiously as we do pay $55 and those do buy it on the sale. I'm July as well, there will be a sale at some point. Just keep checking.
  7. Can you narrate everything for me? I feel like life would be more interesting.
  8. I just learned about Zacapa from my Swedish friends on my last cruise. I'd never drank rum straight before, it's lovely.
  9. I took a taxi from my hotel to the port last year. No issue at all.
  10. What Sarah said plus the hairdryer is fine for a quick use....someone with longer, thicker hair needs to bring their own.
  11. So you're saying I shouldn't expect to come home married? DAMNIT.
  12. I didn't do it on my last two cruises and thought of my tab the whole time. I'd say on a trip I'm 3 a day, rarely more due to never wanting to be out of control. I really love coffee and did not enjoy RC's coffee. 2 a day at least on vacation. I'm fine drinking water from the ship but like bottled water for the convenience (I drink a ton of water). Add in an occasional soda, smoothie or juice in the morning and a (discounted) package works for me. I'm told I can bill my company for the stream package (checking emails while on vacation since my boss and I are both cruising at same time) but not sure I can separate the expenses so not sure if the sip and stream would even work for me. Mainly it's peace of mind that my bill after the trip is low and I can have what I want when I want.
  13. My friends already know if I've given them information they can trust it. This makes me the one who does all the pre work for my trips but I know it's appreciated...and I'm doing it regardless of whether or not I'm assigned to the research.
  14. I don't think you're complaining...I get it. You work hard, your budget sounds good, things are just expensive. You don't sound cheap. For airfare I check daily, I'm also type A. I do a ton of research. I travel a few times a year to visit a friend for the last few years so I'm always on multiple sites for flights. I research for months before I commit. I love Kayak but there are a few good sites for airfare. I switched to a TA (also MEI) after I booked but still check the RC site.
  15. I'm pretty bad myself. I'm a routine lover so it comes as part of my morning routine. I have a problem but I also don't care - it's not hurting anyone.
  16. Just call RC. I've heard of this "glitch" before on another site and everyone who called got it fixed. If the price is indeed what you think it is you'll have documentation of it by way of email. Let us know what happened.
  17. Just remind your waiter at the MDR if she does put it in her preferences. I used it for my last cruise (for gluten issues) and my waiter was not informed. I told him and he was very helpful from there on. I've heard that the info doesn't always make it to the MDR but it's still important to indicate for the ship's information. I feel like I remember low fat options on the MDR menu but I don't have anything to back it up. I think she'll be fine if she is aware of what she shouldn't eat to begin with.
  18. Squaremouth is a good place to check for multiple insurance plans.
  19. Also used Allianz in the past on recommendation from a friend who is a frequent cruiser.
  20. @monctonguy I'm sure you're right, I'm still hopeful though. I get that it's a business but I get weird about pushing alcohol if someone already doesn't drink for religious/cultural/alcohol reasons. Personally I have none of those restrictions so I'm not sure why I care. My next cruise is 40+ people - I will need my own space and I will pay what I need to for peace of mind!!!!! If it means a little less Starbucks, then this is worth it. By the time I leave for my trip it'll be 2 years without a proper vacation (besides visiting) and I want to do this right. I think there will be a sale in 9 months, it's 100% fine if there isn't. I miswrote and meant sale not price drop.
