Probably not but they need the tourism $$ to build back up. St Thomas is one of my favorite islands and I'm going back this summer. They just need a little time.

Sorry about your trip. Hope you can schedule another soon to make up for this one. Norovirus is the absolute worst, got it at work a few years ago and I'm still freaked out. I wash my hands constantly. My friend who is from NY moved down to Charleston and the city was basically shut down for days. She thought it was hysterical at first because we in NY got so much more snow then got pissed since so many days went by and they were all stuck in their houses.

I hate the whole tipping system on cruises. I hate having to tip. I know I have a choice not to but it's not in my conscience to not pay gratuities up front. I don't mind tipping for great service but hate that people's salaries depend on tips. I hate that an average attendant gets the same as an amazing one...I know I have the power to change that but that includes me paying more out of pocket. I see the whole thing as a scheme to make us think we're spending less and that gratuities are a choice. I hate all of that. Grumpy Smurf is done.

I know I'm stuck on this, so apologies, but I just realized her daughter is 15. I'M SORRY YOU CAN'T HAVE SEX BECAUSE THERE IS NO CURTAIN IN YOUR ROOM. Also, you guys can do it with just a curtain separating you from your 15 yo?

This is exactly what I do. ...but...but...but...I mean, unless your kids are babies or you get separate rooms isn't this a given?

I haven't gotten sick pre cruise but have gotten sick mid trip. I fly a few times a year and have a system I start at least a month in advance. I never take vitamins and forget to take probiotics all the time BUT before a flight I make sure I take a multivitamin and a probiotic daily. When I get on the plane I wipe EVERYTHING down, do people laugh a little, sure. My friend watched me do it and now does it on every flight too. I buy a nasal spray that I use throughout, it supposedly helps. I should probably do all of these things more regularly butttttttt...... I honestly have no idea if any of this works or if it's the placebo effect - all I know is I stopped getting sick after I fly.

When is the latest one should buy insurance for their trip?

I know things change but I bought my ticket fall of '15 for a Feb '16 cruise and paid about $330 round trip from JFK- San Juan - if this gives you a rough idea.

Hit my office a few years ago. Floor by floor we got hit- a bunch of friends wound up dehydrated in the hospital. I have become very particular about what I touch and where I eat. It was days of awfulness, I rarely get sick and this hit me bad. Sorry for anyone infected and for EVERYONE'S sake - WASH YO DAMN HANDS.

Ughhhhhh. That does suck. I'm sure you guys will figure it out but hopefully it won't become work. You'll just have to keep yourselves busy on and off the ship!!!
