  1. So out of curiosity, what price tag comes with this villa? Is it star class? Anyone have pics?
  2. Port fees could be higher in PC. The distance is further to Nassau/CocoCay from PC compared to Miami? Maybe health screening protocols are costing more in PC than Miami where RC has their own terminals? Just blame it on COVID lol
  3. What exactly is this suite called? I’ve gone through several mock bookings on oasis class and don’t see it. Any links to pics, details?
  4. We had a corner aft starboard on Mariner last year. Deck 7. Balcony was good size. Cabin was smaller. It was different. We enjoyed it. Just booked a Junior Suite aft port on Radiance for Alaska. Balcony is HUGE and slightly wraps around. It is under the outdoor seating of Windjammer but I’m hoping not many people eat outside in Alaska lol. I found a YouTube video of the cabin and I’m super excited. Plus several here said I scored a great cabin.
  5. It’s just a deposit right? ? It’s too easy to slap these deposits down. I just booked our Alaska suite for 2022 and have Odyssey in the Med and Symphony for 2021. Really want to do Mariner to Bermuda now in 2022 but with 2 high dollar cruises with land tours booked, I better stay off the mock booking thing. That’s how deposits accidentally happen. ?
  6. Looking for hotel for night before cruise. Depending on when our flight gets into Rome, we may opt to head to Civitavecchia to stay the night before. Nothing fancy needed. Thanks!
  7. No cruises over 7 nights out of or porting in US through October 2021. This is a new CDC condition to return to service. Im afraid all TA’s this spring will be cancelled and any ships here now will sail empty to Europe.
  8. Now this is exciting news! Same with Symphony doing Aruba, Curaçao and St Croix! Glad to see some new itineraries! https://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/Royal-will-launch-new-Florida-Bermuda-itinerary-in-2022?fbclid=IwAR1N3LHk4S-DGcp2iTfjp8Gm5jA0GkVYTPc0RxWLRnRA_-5Sw5R3BCoesoM
  9. I’ve always thought Navigator and Mariner would be first. Navigator for test cruises in January. If all goes well, Navi and Mariner for February. Come March, if the vaccine(s) are being distributed on a pretty wide scale and numbers are down, I see 2 more ships being added. By June, my guess is 6+ ships. Fingers crossed. A lot hinges on these vaccines.
  10. We do first and second breakfast too! First breakfast is coffee, juice and bagels delivered to cabin. We spike the juice with champagne. Second breakfast is either at Johnny Rockets or MDR. We like a cooked to order. Mimosa there too!
  11. Typical Caribbean cruise with drink package: mimosa with breakfast. If it’s a sea day, first pool drink around 11. Multiple throughout the day. Drink before dinner, 1 or 2 at dinner, 1 or 2 after dinner/during show. Minimum 5 bottles of water. We get our money’s worth!
  12. Plain and simple: the positivity rate on that ship is 5%. Roughly the same as on land right now. ?
  13. So I went back and looked at our suite. It’s a corner aft port. I think I made the right decision! #1100
  14. I will literally cry buckets if RC cancels my 9 night Odyssey Italy/Greece October 2021. It’s hopefully my 5 year official Remission trip from stage 4b cancer. I could handle knocking 2 nights off but oh please don’t cancel it. ?
  15. Just put a deposit down yesterday for a Junior Suite Aft balcony on Radiance Southbound. Saw a post on Facebook about Aft versus Port and now I’m wondering if I should switch to Port. I did go with the more port side of Aft. Anyone done an Aft in Alaska?
  16. I put a deposit down this morning for radiance southbound. Got a JS aft balcony. Taking our youngest as a college graduation present. Hope I made the right decision! Do you have to book the land tour when you book the cruise? Or can you add it later? We wanted to do Denali land tour prior but I only booked cruise today.
  17. Since you’ll be in Daytona, port canaveral is an hour south. Mariner sails on Mondays for a 4 night. Nassau, CocoCay, sea day. I think Indy may also be sailing from PC with short sailings.
  18. We had just gotten off Mariner this time last year. Last minute cruise to scratch that itch. Never imagined it’d be our last by awhile. Scored an aft balcony too.
  19. One of my favorite places too! First drink Oasis 2018 ?
  20. She’s been on 2 so far. Here’s her take: Originally posted here Hello. I am a cruise addict (with 150 cruise nights onboard Royal Caribbean ships). Unfortunately they canceled our 4 cruises this year, 2 of them would have been in the Mediterranean Sea. When TUI Cruises released their „Greek Isles“ cruises we booked two cruises (with a break of one week between - no B2Bs possible yet) with them and came back home on Sunday. I thought I might share my personal conclusions about cruising during a global pandemic and how it is possible to go on shore excursions in ports (and I hope it won’t be considered as „off-topic“): Both stays onboard were associated with a lot of emotional impressions for me, like the step from the gangway to the ship, which I experienced very consciously, because at these times, I did not believe I would board a cruise ship in 2020. However, a moving moment had brought tears to my eyes, when the ship set sail and the wake became visible!?? A ship with a capacity of 2534 passengers with a 60% pandemic-owed maximum occupancy still offers space for 1500 cruise enthusiasts. We were 922 on our first and 702 passengers on our second cruise onboard Mein Schiff 6! Whether this difference might be thought by one or the other: “Great, more space for me” for me, it reveals a problem that I didn't expect - Apparently not (enough) is booked. The cruise fans ashore are responsible for the difference between what is maximally possible and what is currently done. Of course everyone has the right to have reservations against a cruise during this time. A wait for "afterwards the pandemic" is here in my opinion just as little senseless as waiting for a vaccine. Nobody knows how long we will have to deal with the new reality. Since we were onboard, I hope I can dispel many concerns. We felt at least as safe onboard as on land - NO, I personally felt safer in this „bubble“. We watched, how with unbelievable commitment, from morning to evening, crew was sanitizing, cleaning and paying attention to safety and health measures with „eagle eyes“. We as passengers have the duty, in my opinion not very restrictive in our freedom, to add our parts to these measures by wearing masks, practice social distancing, wash and sanitize our hands frequently. And it worked fine onboard! Why? 1. Out of respect for the crew members and their jobs! 2. Out of respect for my fellow passengers onboard and on land - those on land, I would like to give the opportunity to cruise again soon! 3. Out of respect for the cruise company, which restarted as first cruise line in the world with cruising end of July (from Hamburg, Germany) and took a high risk to the cruise economic and also a political risk. 4. Ultimately out of respect for the entire industry and the companies involved! What are the “restrictions” onboard? For example: Wearing a mask indoors, wearing a mask outdoors if you can’t practice social distance, wearing a mask whenever talking to crew members. Once a day temperature checks. Events at the theater must be reserved via the app in advance! Getting served in the Buffet Restaurant! No drinks at the Bars - drinks are served at the tables. How can you go on shore excursions? On both of our cruises we had the same port of calls: Piraeus/Athens and Corfu, Greece. We could reserve in advance though the App shore excursions. There were plenty of different shore excursions on offer, we decided to go to the beach in Piraeus/Athens and stay onboard in Corfu. The shore excursion to the beach was to the Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso in Vouliagmeni. We were a small group of less than 50 people. The bus ride was about 45mins to the beach. At the beach a whole area was reserved for TUI Cruises guests (including toilets) and the tour guide was watching that nobody left the beach area due to COVID-19 measures. It was a clean and nice beach with comfortable sun loungers and nice umbrellas. In my opinion, this gives a feeling of security, which of course is never one hundred percent, but which feels higher than in some places and in some situations on land. For me, both the COVID-19 swab test before and the measures onboard are therefore an added value! All arguments: “I don't want to ...”, “I'm not doing ...”, “For me it's not .... ", „Without it is not ..." aren’t understandable for me. But if you are unsure about going back onboard to enjoy this indescribable feeling at the sea, let me say: Yes! For sure! Yes! Do it and it will be fun! I am neither a representative of a cruise company nor a travel agency. I am a cruise addict, who wants to cruise again in 2021. ???? Attached you will find my favorite pictures, for more pictures of both cruises: https://instagram.com/mrs.tietzlein?igshid=a7hlzo5xu5xg
  21. Sailed her the first time in 2011 after a 13 year absence from cruising (because of kids). WOW! Sailed her again in 2017 (kicked cancer’s ass and 50th birthday cruise) and again in 2018. She’s pretty awesome and why I’m partial to Oasis class. Just LOVE this class of ships.
  22. Someone started a post on Facebook and I went and found ours! This deck is either from Song of America 1991 or Monarch of the Seas 1992. Who else has a deck?
