I hope so too, Jeff. She is a tough one, thankfully. And yes, we are in agreement. ? I try to balance my optimistic outlook on life with being thoughtful of others so I don’t get anyone sick if I catch it. I didn’t say that this is my second serious brush with Covid. In February, our office had a super-spreader event and only 3 of 17 did not get Covid. I was one of those 3 and witnessing the suffering of our work family was truly awful. We were fortunate that all survived, even though 1 is still on oxygen, another dealing with heart damage. Cautious optimism (with a bit of realism tossed in due to experience) describes my attitude about Covid perfectly. ??? We will get thru this, and pretty soon all we will have to complain about are deck chair hogs, dress code in the dining room, C&A benefits……?

Absolutely. I agree with personal responsibility and doing what is best for you and yours. That said, we had a very scary experience this week. My sister, who has had the shots, got Covid, and it attacked her heart. We almost lost her within a day of getting sick. Long story short, she had a heart condition we didn’t know about, and Covid made it worse. Regeneron and two stents later, we think she will make a mostly full recovery with some heart damage from Covid. I wasn’t so positive about that Tuesday. I believe we will get thru this newest strain, and this pandemic will pass. I won’t be complaining about the cruise lines and the choices they make to stay operating. I will just be happy to be onboard. Whatever way these court cases turn out. ? Thank you all for analyzing all the info. I’ve followed this closely (till this week, when I was distracted). I personally appreciate the time and effort from each of you. ?

Thanks for the reminder Shari! I hadn't checked this week (family medical emergency and I'm stressed), and YOU just made my week. I checked our Harmony cruise Dec 2022, and got $756 off of our GS. We don't usually sail in a GS unless the price is right, but this lower rate makes the price even more awesome. ? Now if only the Crown Loft price would come down.....

Kraken Pina Colada 1 part Kraken® Original Rum Ice cubes 1 part coconut cream ½ part coconut milk ½ part pineapple chunks DIRECTIONS Add Kraken®, coconut cream, coconut milk, pineapple chunks and ice cubes in a blender on high until smooth. Pour into glass and garnish with a pineapple wedge. THEN ADD AN EXTRA SHOT OF KRAKEN TO THE TOP. ? -
However, we don’t know if they will be extended again at this point…..?
-
Double points do not extend beyond December 2022 at this point, even if Royal Caribbean cancels. You would have to book another cruise that sails before the end of 2022.
-
Someone else may be able to better answer this, but I don’t believe points travel with you. The sailing must be by December 2022. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/06/26/royal-caribbean-extends-double-point-offer-through-december-2022

And there go the Crystal Blocks...

Maybe they had no idea how much some of their cruisers are attached to those crystal blocks. And I’m thankful they were willing to reconsider. ? -

First Royal Caribbean Ship You Went On

Sovereign of the Seas in 1993, and we thought it was the BIGGEST ship we had ever seen! ? Of course, we were just 'babies' back then. ? -
And there go the Crystal Blocks...
barbeyg replied to dswallow's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
That makes me sad. We would have gotten one on Odyssey. I would never leave a crystal block in the cabin. -
The judge was correct in tossing the case. Anyone who saw the video, and I assume the judge did, could observe that he leaned his upper body out the window looking at something. Then picked that sweet baby up and held her out the window so she could see, and he tragically lost his grip on her. That video is proof that he knew the window was open. It was an accident caused by his poor choices and one he will have to live with for the rest of his life. My heart goes out to this family. But pursuing legal action against RCI for his reckless actions, and trying to cast blame for a window open on a pool deck, one that is not a danger to children? That is, at best, an attempt to avoid accepting the horrendous truth of what happened, and at worst, greed.

And I didn't know she refused another test as well. I couldn't watch her rants. The photos alone of her angry face was enough to trigger me. ?
-
Possibly because she broke other rules, like violating the 'vaccinated guests only' areas. We don't know all the facts, but RCI may have opted to just remove her because of that.

Odyssey - Western Caribbean 12/4/21
barbeyg replied to Lynne S's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Lynne, we are also on that southern Caribbean cruise. ? We we’re talking last night and hoping it would change to Coco Cay, given the current circumstance in Grand Cayman. We are hoping Aruba and Curaçao are still a go, but either way just want to be on the ship! ? -
I understand how disappointing this must be for you. We prefer independent tours in AK as well. However, much like our cruise we have scheduled for December, we know the protocols are going to be different for bookings this year, and will be ever-changing. We booked knowing that, and are just excited to get on a ship again. ? RCI is doing what it needs to do as a business that was shut down for over a year. I personally think they are simply trying to meet all the concerns they can, knowing they can’t make everyone happy. I hope you can find some RCI tours you would enjoy. Otherwise, there is always the option of postponing to next year when rules should be loosening up more. ? Either way, hope you enjoy your trip to AK.

Norwegian sues Florida over mandatory vaccine ban
barbeyg replied to smokeybandit's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
A month ago, they were threatening to leave FL: https://patch.com/florida/miami/cruise-line-threatens-skip-fl-ports-over-vaccine-passport-ban That threat didn’t generate the change they desired. They really don’t have any other option but to sue if they want to restrict to only vaccinated passengers. ?? I guess this will drag thru the courts, like the State of FL vs CDC. Am I the only one who thinks by the time these are finally resolved, it won’t matter anymore? -

Odyssey Of The Seas - Chris Wong
barbeyg replied to CHRIS WONG's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Awesome, Chris! Can’t wait to see your videos around the ship. We sail in December and can’t wait! ? -
Quantum class is our favorite, mainly because of 270, and because that class has just the amount of variety for us on longer cruises, which we prefer. That said, we would sail any of the ships. ?
