  1. Yes, I know a TA could take care of this for me if I used one. Maybe one day. For the most part, I enjoy this aspect of planning. Sick, I know. After this afternoon, I have decided that I am not supposed to upgrade to the ‘larger balcony’ OV. I have called RCI 6 times today, and three times ended up in a dead zone after listening to the recording about sailing again (I can say it word for word with him now), and pressing 4, then 2. Nothing, nada, no one home. Three other times, I’ve gotten connected with a rep only to have the call drop because the connection was beyond awful. Each time was before they could check on the small price difference. So, maybe this is my sign to not move cabins. I don’t need a deeper balcony anyway. I can just throw that paltry sum away in the casino. All that aside, for those of you who do call, any tips or suggestions for connecting with a rep that is not located somewhere with abysmal wifi calling? Connecting with a rep that has decent wifi seems to be harder for me this week than it ever has been before. This was throughout the afternoon to early evening. Thanks for any input in advance.
  2. Between @Tiffeven and your experience, seems like they need to work on the star experience a bit for boarding and/or beginning a new week. Ah well. All that is behind you now, and it should be smooth sailing going forward! Have a great week!
  3. That price is crazy! Maybe a friend on the US side could order and ship to you? The box is very, very lightweight.
  4. I thought I was the only one! I love bacon…mostly crispy…but this just didn’t do it for me.
  5. Thanks for putting this on here, @BrianB. I started a similar thread at CC and was coming here to do this as well, and saw you already had. Lots of us would love to hear the experiences of those that have sailed. I’m particularly interested in the Port of Miami. And thanks to those who have shared.
  6. Glad your results were negative, and you were able to get off the ship and enjoy Cococay. Have a great day!
  7. That was my first choice for stressful, if I was doing a back to back. Hoping your testing goes smoothly, and your negative results come quickly!
  8. Testing between cruises? Packing haphazardly between cabins?
  9. We live in a tourist area. Let’s just say that there are very ‘vocal’ oppositions to any kind of new venture here. Usually the minority, but they make their displeasure known.
  10. And then there is this: http://www.tribune242.com/news/2021/sep/09/entrepreneur-royal-caribbean-continue-pi-crown-lan/ Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  11. RCG ready to start construction. https://thenassauguardian.com/royal-caribbean-ready-to-start-construction-once-approval-given/
  12. This. Otherwise, you will want to do what we did once. We were upgraded at the port after we checked our luggage. We stalked the deck our old cabin was on, and grabbed our luggage when it was put in the hallway. It felt like we were stealing luggage.
  13. Yeah, I have three in my account, and all three are greyed out. Must be having issues. A way around this is to find one of your many RCI emails about the sales, and click on the link in the email. I got one this morning, and when I clicked on it, I was taken into the planner, was able to make choices there.
  14. Ours on Oasis is currently $160.99. A big nope on that. Great price you got there.
  15. You are getting ready to pass close by. I just waved. Have a safe and wonderful trip.
  16. Congrats on the new home and settling in for your next adventure!
  17. First, to answer your question, the amplification is very nice. While the ships are similar, the experience will be somewhat different. Only you can know if it is different enough to justify a price difference. Personally, if this was us, I would keep watching prices on the cruise booked. We recently cancelled Odyssey for December, because we weren’t taking a pricy cruise with all the restrictions. It took 2-1/2 weeks to receive our FCC. We watched pricing for Oasis class ships for the same week in December, and booked an OV balcony on Oasis for less than $1500, mid-ship. Lower than the other ships that week by $600! We were able to use our FCCs for this cruise because we waited until we received them. If you cancel and don’t receive your FCCs before final payment, you MAY be able to get a short extension on final payment. BUT, if you can’t use them, you are looking at having to book another cruise for each person with those FCCs before next September, or lose them. Personally, I would watch for decreases on the ship you are on. Who knows what might happen?
  18. Yikes on the blouse, And me too, @Neesa. I get all my makeup, etc by May, then wait for late Sept (or later) to order again. There are granola bars my husband is (im)patiently waiting for me to order for him. They have dark chocolate in them, and that would be a total mess in our metal mailbox. I told him to ration himself across the summer, but did he? No.
  19. I’m waiting as well. For expiration dates and a bit of cooler weather.
  20. Yum on the fruit smoothies. Hmmm….wonder if those would be available for the Diamond drinks? Will have to check when we are onboard. Enjoying your live blog. Thanks for sharing!
  21. I’ve seen photos of people watching on the tv in the cabin for their group to be announced. Not a video, just a listing of the groups, and when it is time for them to assemble. I’m not sure about early walk-off. I’d like to do that too, as we have a 12.5 hour drive home in December.
  22. Around the internet, I’ve seen reports of anywhere from a couple of minutes to 30 minute waits. For a period of time, they were slower than that, but they seem to have improved after being slammed. I think a lot depends on the time of day you call in.
  23. Also, these are HSA approved, so if you have an HSA and want to use to pay for them, that’s an option.
  24. Aww, he loves these crazy women. He want to Royal Up for both cabins, but it’s not in the budget. Plus, I already have to get them a badge that says, “If lost, return to Cabin ####. If they are across the ship or on another deck from ours, they will get lost all the time. #DirectionallyChallenged
  25. This. And in Skagway, if the border is open, renting a car to drive out to the Yukon is amazing and allows stops that the train doesn’t. We plan to do this again next year, as long as the border is open.
