Are there any wine only packages for dining?
Matt replied to t18c97's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
I completely forgot to bring wine on Navigator until I was in the cruise terminal. Those two bottles really do save you a lot of money. -
Help me understand what Dining I'm signed up for
Matt replied to catherines_mama's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
That is definitely a mistake. No Dynamic Dining on Harmony. -
Just for note, the Prohibition Party is a lot of fun. It is essentially a dance party, themed to 1920s jazz. There is a lot to drink, so if you do not have a drink package, it is a great value.

I can't speak for the beverage inventory on any ship, but I would expect it to be available.

Bringing sodas on Liberty out of Galveston
Matt replied to bryanmp729's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Officially, the rules state you cannot. However, in practice, many guests report unopened bottles of water and/or soda are allowed (or at least, overlooked). Ideally, bring them in your carryon if possible. -
Airport Transfers from Port Everglades Ft. Lauderdale
Matt replied to amejiajr8's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The Fort Lauderdale airport is quite close to the Port Evergaldes terminal, so taxis are really simple and convenient. -
Yes, you can. For breakfast, there is no charge for orange juice in MDR. Coffee is always complimentary. Soda always costs extra without a package.

Harmony of the Seas Group Cruise Roll Call!
Matt replied to Cruising With JT's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I know what you mean. We are definitely paying a premium for a new ship, but I really feel like these are some pretty good rates considering it is a new ship. And by putting down a deposit today, you get a chance to lock in the price now and always have the option of re-booking if any new promotions come out that are a better deal. And on the topic of this thread, I will be there! :P- 45 replies

Are there age or height limits for Carousel
Matt replied to Johnjc14's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
No restrictions at all on the Carousel on other Oasis-class ships. I have brought my kids as young as 6 months old on (obviously me or my wife would hold her up). -
Galveston Cruise Terminal 2 Expansion Project
Matt replied to Clear Laker's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I would think they'd look to shore up demand for Houston, which has been abandoned, rather than investing in a new terminal -
I like that idea. Not sure if that is practical, but I'd love that kind of an idea in general on existing ships or a new one.

The cupcake decorating classes are a lot of fun and not expensive either!
-
That is correct, no corkage fee. There used to be one, but it was been rescinded.

Generally speaking, yes. The Solarium (adult pool) is enclosed, so it will be warmer there than the outdoor pool area.

Is booking next cruise onboard really a deal?
Matt replied to Lora's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
These days, NextCruise is essentially just an onboard booking bonus. Free money for booking a cruise while onboard. The downside is it is non-refundable, so you are committing to take a cruise because that deposit is non-refundable (though it is transferable). -
Prior to cruising on Allure, I thought (incorrectly) that Rising Tide would move much more often. It is on a schedule and I believe there is a screen/sign near the entrance that shows the next departure time.

The real benefit of the lessons is not having to wait (again) in lines for another turn. Like many things in life, the more practice you get, the quicker you learn it.

Quest on Grandeur ... 9-night Bermuda
Matt replied to ZnLP Worldwide's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Depends on your sailing. It is usually towards the end of the cruise, but it really can vary. -
Liberty's Tidal Wave rumored to be operational today
Matt replied to Wilson's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
:o Any photos? -
I look at it like deals on new cars. Dealerships often offer something like 0% financing OR a couple thousand dollars cash back. I pick the right deal for me and run with it. Stackable discounts, in general, are a rare breed.
