Your daughter and I sound a lot alike. I am not a "girly" woman. I don't wear makeup, heels, perfume or jewelry. I do love a good dress as long as it has pockets, but I rock them with berks or knockoff berks. I feel like it always works that way: when I want ranger cookies, I can't find them and there is only chocolate chip, when I want chocolate chip there is mainly ranger. There is always oatmeal and I never want those.

Bartender Front of house vs. utility bartender
Pattycruise replied to jtousch's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It’s been this way. My understanding is once you’ve found a bartender who makes a drink the way you like it stick with them. I had a waitress swear she made a better chocolate martini than the bartender in the Pub on Anthem. She was wrong, hers tasted like trash. Lesson learned! I like ordering at the bar because I can see if they are using the vodka I ask for, though I can taste the difference if the waiter goes behind the scenes and makes my drink. My days of bellying up to the bar and hanging out to drink are pretty much gone, but I do know usually a good tip gets you prompt service and a good drink.? -
Don't take this the wrong way because I mean no disrespect but you should know better than to trust what the CEO of a large corporations says. At the airline I work for most of what the CEO says is aspirational at best when it comes to the future or future planning By the time network planning, revenue management, maintenance control, network operations gets involved the whole plan changes from what our CEO said to what actually happens. CEO's have these grand visions and some of them runs their mouths and announce plans before the people who actually do the work crunching the numbers and compiling the data have given them the okay to actually make the announcement. At the end of the day it all comes down to money, whether its a cruise line or an airline, once the data is compiled these companies are going to place their assets in markets where they will get the highest return on their investment and Royal can get a higher ROI from having Wonder in the 3-4 night Bahamas market than they can if they were to keep Allure in that market and send Wonder to Texas. Right now Royal is raking it in on 3-4 night Bahamas/Coco Cay cruises, and with the success they've reportedly seen since Utopia has gone on sail out of Port Canaveral it is really a surprise to see Wonder relocate to PortMiami to do the same thing? Again we have cruise lines like NCL and MSC taking similar paths with using newer larger ships on their 3-4 night Bahamas cruises and Royal has positioned themselves as the game changer in this segment of the market. The largest market for 3-4 night cruises here in the US is Florida so to be a game changer means they have to have their biggest, best and yes newest ships sailing out of the Florida market where they will reap the highest ROI.

I’m sorry this happened to you. It’s especially sad that others sat in the same seat and also fell backwards. Sounds like that seat needs some attention. I have no other advice except perhaps email the CEO [email protected] and make your complaint about that furniture and your request for reimbursement.

Most expensive excursion, just for fun thread
Ryan79 replied to RCIfan1912's topic in Shore Excursions
There was an excursion in Juneau last year that was $1000pp, but cannot remember for the life of me what it was. It involved either a plane or a helicopter. -
Another super busy day. Summary here, then I'll try to come back with more detail tomorrow during a sea day. We did our two tank dive in Curacao. Saw four giant turtles, so many fish and I'm pretty sure I saw a small shark, swimming away from us thankfully. We'll again have pics from the Go Pro and the guide said he'd email some. Got back a little later than expected and needed lunch so I had my first EVER El Loco Fresh! And yes, I mixed the Cholula Chipotle into the guac which gave it a nice kick & better flavor BUT I still couldn't get past the texture (same reason I can't eat mushrooms). Best part- there was NO LINE. Every day, the line is back to/past the ice cream machines, but not today during a port day. After we ate & showered, we still had an hour and a half until dinner (and two until all aboard) so we walked over the Queen Emma Bridge to Orobanda and tried to go to the Nena Sanchez gallery but it had closed already. The area is so cute and was worth the walk! Then a quick dinner in the MDR. I found my lemon tart to be perfect. I've seen a few others comment that it wasn't lemony enough or was too lemony, but I felt they found the right balance with the one I had Then we went to our rescheduled pickleball lesson which was fantastic. I actually understand how to play the game now! However, my mom got a bad blister on her toe yesterday which is causing pain so she "audited" the class (she sat & watched). Then we had a little down time so popped up to the WJ and enjoyed the crepe station. This was a HIGH energy burning day with all of our activities. I went there looking for a ranger cookie but I haven't seen them since day 1, and I've been looking! Then we had laser tag which was really fun. Surprisingly fun. Good vest devices, great set up, fun people. Now we're on balcony, enjoying the cooler weather and looking at the moon.

Won my Royal Up bid 60 days before the cruise!
Luv2Travel replied to Luv2Travel's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Could be, but I don't think so. It's a Mediterranean cruise on the Odyssey and all of the cabins from interior up to connecting oceanview balcony are either waitlisted or GTY. The remaining inventory is either a Junior Suite or an oceanview with a large balcony. Maybe they think my less expensive cabin will be easier to sell as we get closer to the sail date so they're bumping guests up? -
Can we refill our own water bottles?
smokeybandit replied to happy cruisers 2's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I'd suggest having your room steward keep your ice stocked, too. The next morning it's perfect ice water. -
Yeah... I couldn't tell if that chicken was a rescue, if it was supposed to look like that, or if it was getting bullied in the yard My daughter is not a girly girl at all. Although she does really enjoy traditional "feminine" hobbies - she bakes, crafts, plays music, does sewing projects, etc. She hardly ever wears makeup, rarely wears a dress, and is an introverted homebody and a really good student. My husband says she's an old soul. She goes to bed early and gets up early. I talk a lot about my son because he and I tend to gravitate to each other naturally and my husband and daughter gravitate to each other naturally more often (although obviously we all love each other equally!).

I was really stuck on the handcuffs.........that is pure shenanigans. You really make me think, I bring Febreze to spray the smoke out of my clothes, but this might be a good idea. Also, the corn dogs look like overcooked shrimp I would have no issues staying cheaply in interiors for 20+ days. I know this would never be an option with your mom -

So much passing. Smaller ship, way less variety. It's super hard to just find protein and veggies that aren't deep fried or covered in a questionable sauce, so I've just been sticking to the salad bar and the Indian dishes. -
I know I wouldn't want to cancel my cruise merely due to the departure port changing.
-
Thank you for the info! I thought that would be the case. From the reviews Pier 7 seems to be gaining popularity. Either way I hope you continue enjoy your cruise.
