Well I’m failing already. Had dinner at Glacier Brewhouse and I totally forgot to take pictures. The flight was pretty smooth and took about 6 hours. We are staying at Sheraton Anchorage. Our room wasn’t ready when we got there around 2pm so we headed for lunch. After that we went to a fur shop and my aunt got some really nice stuff. It was out of my price range though. Now just going to try and stay up a couple more hours to get acclimated with the time change, but pretty exhausted right now.

CHOPS - Favorite Appetizers?
SeaSunnedTraveler replied to OCSC Mike's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
Yummmmm...the braised short rib served over creamy polenta.... But Chops? The mushroom soup. The peppered bacon. -
Backing up… We went to use our free plays before dinner. My wife quickly lost her $8.00. Then she played mine… If we understood the game correctly, she was one pepper away from winning $11K. The bonus round she activated lasted forever. We took the $80 and ran. First free play win since last summer.

BB1 started following Los Angeles cruise, how is LAX
-
I'll be taking a Thanksgiving cruise out of San Pedro that returns Monday December 1st. We can carry off but I was wondering about how long it takes to get to LAX from the cruise port and how long roughly it takes to get to the gate. I have TSA precheck. Thanks in advance.

We loved the dot. It got us into any show we wanted. I am usually meh off of CL snacks because it's often frou frou. I love when it's mozzarella sticks, pigs in a blanket and chicken wings. That and the fruity pebbles rice krispies. I know a lot of people get excited for surf and turf but it always smells too fishy for me. I had the peach tea last time I was at MJ on Wonder. The bourbon was too much, next time I will try it just with peach schnapps. -
Debating what to do. The icon loft suite (which we stayed on icon) is not available for our sailing on star. Debating booking the owners suite. I know it’s sky vs star class but besides the benefits in that respect has anyone stayed in both and noticed a big size difference? I know it’s 1 less bathroom but the balcony is definitely bigger in the owners suite. How was the room size in owners suite? We have 2 teen boys who slept fine on the pull out in the loft for reference.

I often use the same logic. Along those lines, the embarkation buffet on Utopia has huge shrimp so I’ll probably skip the shrimp cocktail at Chops. The MDR version is pretty sad.
-
I always get it cause I can't find it anywhere else. I also get the shrimp cocktail , the shrimps are nice and plump, better then the one is the MDR, , ( years ag Royal use to serve it with a watered down sauce but now the use the real stuff). DH like the bacon and the wedge salad.

Based on glancing at menus and reading blogs, good ship for it! I was looking forward to the one new bar on Utopia… Icon has several. Thanks. I’m trying to slowly ramp back up since we have the UDP next leg. Dog House & pizza for lunch may not sound like it, lol, but you know I would normally have more than that. Yep, my wife goes back to work in late July (kids start in early August here). We’re used to it though & this 3N leg has honestly been more relaxing than the last one. Kids in places we don’t hang out can be preferable to the party crowd invading the Solarium. Felt like a lot more people got off on Nassau this time too. It wasn’t terrible last time, just pointing out a noticeable difference.

That sucks about the road. It’s been closed for so many years! We spent two nights at the backcountry lodge, then one at the cabins on the way out in 2018. That was definitely one of the biggest highlights (including the long ride to the back & out) but I don’t blame you for skipping it. After all the stuff we did in the back of the park (plus the bus rides), don’t think we did much for the half day we spent at the front but I do remember a really good pizza place in the “downtown” area that I want to say they call Glitter Gulch (like Vegas). Reindeer sausage. That’s where we stayed & did whatever the longer fjord tour was… loved that too. You booked the land portion through Pursuit, yes? Sounds great. Will follow along from Utopia when I put the food & drinks down. My only regret was not doing more during a couple of the port stops but that was such an over the top vacation for us (especially total cost) that I felt the need to cut something out.
