Sailor_to_Cruiser
I just looked at my cruise planner. The cost of VOOM 2 device is £16.71 per day. That adds up to £116.69 for a week. Doesn't it? So why does the cruise planner show it at £141.41 (odd number by itself)? Yesterday the prices were right, and I'm sure that tomorrow they will be also. This has got to be just a sanity check by RCCL. Who is insane enough to bite?
Bazza
Maybe you are getting an extra 1.5 days cruising for free and just charging for the Voom! They have just forgot to tell you....
Bazza
It also changes it's mind between screens! Rate £161.12 each becomes £179.36 each when select it! Yes it says *from but as only one tour then not really any variables!!
jticarruthers
Probably doing some creative things with adding surcharges in one screen and/or showing discounts in one or the other. RCI math issues usually have to do with reconciling "Marketing speak" with "IT presentation" to figure out whether a price says it is before discount (Marketing speak) but is actually after discount (IT Presentation) for example, so you really don't see a discount because you already got it but didn't know you did. I wonder if this is because there are multiple times when you can book that excursion, and depending on the time, the price changes. We see this with spa treatments. Bazza
Hi @Matt I would accept that if there were but it is a one off excursion, no AM/PM options or different dates etc!!! I have emailed them to ask!

F1guynz
I had a similar problem with the website trying to book for next cruise. I think it is something to do with exchange rate when they convert from US currency. The headline price for the ultimate dining package was $96 NZD pp so I cancelled our existing one as this was cheaper. Then when I tried to rebook the second screen came up at $105 NZD pp which was more expense that the previous booking. Annoying! it like they have to update the exchange rate in multiple places and if they don’t you get price inconsistency.
Sailor_to_Cruiser
I have been seeing the price of £16.67 for the 2 device Voom, showing 20% off onboard prices. As I started this thread, the total price went up with the daily price remaining the same. This morning I see they are giving 30% off onboard prices, but the daily price went up to £20.20 per day. There is nothing creative to their accounting practices. It just makes no sense in how they figure their prices. Bazza
Must be ex- insurance underwriters as they have no idea how to calculate premiums either!
Sailor_to_Cruiser
And they do it again: What is the normal onboard price for 2 device VOOM? GBP £20.20 is about USD $26.95. Is this actually a discount from the onboard price?
Sailor_to_Cruiser
And again: I guess they aren't counting on people tracking daily price changes as I am doing. The total amount was £116.99 at 20% off, £141.41 at 30% off, and now £161.62 at 20% off. (15 Dec 2017) This price for 7 days adds up to £116.97. (16 Dec 2017) 30% off is more than 20% off. (19 Dec 2017) 20% off is the same as 30% off. (21 Dec 2017) 20% off today is higher than than 20% off was yesterday.
Bazza
Crazy....unless of course the on board costs have been fluctuating massively and 20% and 30% relates to a moving benchmark!!! How about this for confusion - this is today, same time, same place, same Ultimate Dining Package...so difficult to choose which one!!! mworkman
I think I would take the Ultimate dining package for 182.04GBP vs 255.36GBP ? Bazza

Bazza
Hi @Sailor_to_Cruiser I am on Ovation from 13th March from Sydney - the 10 day package is shown above, the 3 day 'taster' cruise is about £55 and then the 14 day Sydney to Singapore one is around £255. Apart from the expensive one they seem to be coming in around £18 per person per day. Based on other threads I am hoping they offer package where it may be just 5 or 6 speciality meals for around £100 instead of booking the whole thing. For now we have just booked the 3 day taster one so we can try Chops/Wonderland etc at some point! The one you have at $32 per night equates to about £24 I guess? Maybe that will come down? Enjoy no matter what!

I guess I should stop complaining about it all now. After all, I'm still going on a cruise. Right? Enjoy your cruises. Bazza
