Ultimate Dining - Advanced Reservations

Royal has opened up advanced dining reservations for my upcoming sailing. However the strange thing is that only Lunch options and times are showing up. I can book them but no dinner options are even shown. Has anyone else seen this?

I haven't..Probably a hiccup, but I know it wouldn't allow me to reserve dinner, if I had something on my calendar around that time frame. It would display the times.

We are sailing on the Odyssey in November. Just spoke to Rick at RCI about making UDP restaurant reservations. I was told this is only available for the Allure, Icon and the Wonder as of Oct. 18th's system update. He said it is NOT fleetwide.

He also said that, as Matt pointed out in his recent blog post, that this is only for people who are willing to cancel their pre-purchase at the excellent low price they found over the past few months/year and rebook at today's higher price. Which means that, if you keep your low price and wait until you are onboard to book, there may potentially be no reservation times left. Not a good rollout process.

Rep doesn't have all the facts. I haven't booked UDP for my Jan S2S2S whiih is symphony, Oasis and Indy sailings. I can pick times for all three. Maybe it's available fleetwide if you haven't booked. I was waiting to see what rooms I am assigned since I have gtys and will book my UDP during black Friday. But I also have liberty and Nav booked for later in 2025 and I can pick times as well.

I am sailing on Icon next year. I selected the UDP option but it will only show me times for lunch and not dinner. I have tried on mobile and desktop. Anyone else that has the ability to pre book dining having this problem?

Just FYI, I was able to book UDP reservations for my December 2024 sailing on Navigator. It's wonky, as there are zero lunch times available, but all dinners were open. I'm assuming I can probably figure out lunch once on board.

Can I modify my reservation after it has been placed in the cart and the payment has been completed? If I want to change one of the restaurants, do I need to modify my UDP reservation and add it back to the cart? Does anyone have detailed instructions on how to modify specialty dining reservations after they have been booked?

Additionally, I was charged the UDP price for each specialty restaurant I booked, bringing my total cost to over $1,400. When will Royal Caribbean address this issue? Should I contact customer service to correct my total before the charges are posted to my credit card, or will they resolve it on their own?

Would someone post a screenshot of where you go on the app to book?  Please include whatever icon is clicked to get there    I have UDP on an upcoming cruise and I don't see where to do it.  Thanks!

Thanks!  This wasn't on my app, but I found the "Modify" link for my UDP on my laptop.  However, for my cruise, only Izumi is available at this time.  I'll check back tomorrow.

I am on Grandeur in a couple of weeks and I did the UDP.  I called today to make reservations because I see that they are filling up.  I called to make reservation and they said you can not do that ship.  I expected that as this is an older ship.  Has anyone had any luck in doing that on Grandeur?  and do I just need to call back till I get the right person??

You will not be able to make UDP specialty dining reservations before boarding unless the option is available online/in the app.  They are moving in that direction, but many ships still don’t permit advanced reservations prior to boarding.  Calling again would be a waste of your time.

Having said that, I would not worry.  I have had dining packages on 100% of my cruises over the last several years (oops…that’s a lie.  I do not get dining packages when I sail on Enchantment) and I have only failed once to get my desired restaurant, dates and times…and with a minor compromise and a restaurant/date switcheroo, I left happy. It is helpful though, to get onboard early and get to one of the kiosks right away to get those rezzies done ASAP.  Try not to stress over it…I am confident you will be able to get what you want.  I think the dining packages are awesome, even on the smaller ships (except for EN).

Thanks!   I thought that was the case.  Was just on Radiance and did the 3 night dinner option.   First thing we did on board was go and make our reservations.  I will do the same this time.  We planned it out where we like the MDR on the first night and the 6th night.  But if I remember correctly, you can get the surf at Chops when the MDR has lobster and if so, we might try that if allowed.  I appreciate you getting back to me.
