I know we’re allowed 750ml of wine or champagne (which is also wine) per person on the cruise. Vermouth is considered a fortified wine, like Port or Madeira, but I’m worried RC will not consider it wine but spirits.

Has anyone been permitted to bring sweet vermouth or other fortified wine on board?

It’s our first cruise on Royal Caribbean ship, transpacific to Tokyo & we are excited!

Thanks for your advice!

Depends on the screener at the Xray machine.  Technically fortified wine is excluded.  It really does depend on port and screener, it can even vary by which line your in at the port.

If you willing to handle the delay and embarrasment of being pulled aside, up to you to try

So fortified wines are now banned, based on the prohibited items list.

  • Alcohol: Guests and crew are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines or alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use on boarding day or while in port with the following exceptions in the Onboard Alcohol Guest Policy.

But no mention of them on the "what beverages can I bring on board" page.
