Cory
Our cruise starts in Vancouver and ends in Seattle and I have 3 questions 1. how long does it take to get to airport from the dock? Monday am. 2. how is the seattle airport as far as going thru security and customs? 3. would me make at 1250 pm flight? Thanks
WAYNO
Assuming you're flying from Sea-Tac... The drive is roughly 40 minutes when the traffic allows. An hour or more during rush hour. Either way, as long as you have a guaranteed ride to the airport from the cruise terminal, a 12:30 PM departure is quite reasonable.

WAYNO
No airport is easy . Sea-Tac is a huge and busy airport, and the gates are very spread out. Fortunately, they have a people-mover system that helps get folks to their gate with less worry of a coronary. I get to any and all airports 2+ hours early. Sometimes it takes every minute of that. But, get off the ship timely, have your ride ready, and you'll be good. Good travels.
AandD
We are going to be up there next summer and are thinking about taking a late flight. 5:30. Has anyone ever used Port Valet ?

Has anyone ever used Port Valet ? I don't care what time your flight is scheduled - USE THE PORT VALET!!!!! Put your bags out the evening before debarkation and don't touch them again until your arrive at your destination airport baggage claim. Couldn't be easier. The best part is that if your bag is a little over the weight limits, you may not get charged the fee (YMMV).

Has anyone ever used Port Valet ? Agree with @HeWhoWaits on the Port Valet. It could not be easier. You can sign up on the ship but we signed up earlier on-line https://www.portseattle.org/page/port-valet-enjoy-seattle-luggage-free and we wish every port had this option. It is so much easier putting the bags out and being able to disembark the ship without going and lugging the bags from the shuttle to the terminal and checking them in. Villageidiot
https://www.portseattle.org/SEAspotsaver It's possible to make an appointment for TSA security in Seattle. Might help with any anxiety over timing you have. I haven't used it but have heard it works fairly well.
GoldenTimeHero
Sea-Tac can be hit or miss but allow yourself at least two hours to be on the safe side.

We used the late flight as an opportunity to go walk around If you like walking around aquarium and Pike's Place Market. As long as you don't mind some walking, there is a relatively easy and very cheap option to get from cruise port to Sea-Tac airport. A short walk from the cruise port (past uber/lyft station) is a stairway up to main road. There you can grab a public bus that will get you to downtown (close to aquarium and Pike's Place Market). When you are ready to go to the airport, another short walk to Link Light rail WestLake Station and you can take the train directly back to SEA-TAC airport. VeronicaS1970
WE are doing the 8 night Ovation in May, leaving Vancouver and returning to Seattle. Since we have to fly back to the east coast, we are opting to stay an extra night. I haven't been to Seattle since 1989, and the rest of the fam has never been. We have a 9am flight the next day, and are staying near the airport. We are ubering and using luggage locker for that day. It's a highly orchestrated operation, but worth it hopefully. mills10
I know every day is different and so are everyone's experiences, but when we flew out of Seattle on a Monday this past summer we waited in the security line for 90 minutes! Hopefully that isn't the norm, but just know if can happen. There were people in line around us who missed flights because of it.
CruisingNewb
With absolutely zero traffic and by car, taxi, uber, it can take 30 minutes. But that is unrealistic and will not happen. We took a shuttle to Nordstrom's and then light rail to the airport. Took us 90 minutes. Keep in mind that Alaskan cruises are always during baseball season and other sporting events. Seattle has 2 or 3 stadiums next to each other and between the pier and Seatac. If you are traveling during home games, good luck.

More importantly, and perhaps what you meant, is that there won't be any immigration at the airport. the US doesn't have outbound immigration or customs checks.
