  1. Yay!! Just made our final payment for our 2nd Alaska cruise! Sailing July 12th!
  2. I was just coming here to see if it was just me. I wanted to price out a cruise for Oct. of '25. I checked the website and the app and they are missing from both.
  3. Today's post on the main page about checking in using the app for cruises out of Vancouver left me with a couple of questions. We are sailing out of Vancouver this summer and traveling with my parents who are booked in another room. Our reservations are linked. Will I be able to do the check in on the app for them as well since our reservations are linked if they give me all of the required info? My main concern is wanting to get the same port arrival time, and I can't see my parents doing their own check in on the app. Thanks!!
  4. Not sure what ship you are on, but when we did Quantum last summer they provided climbing shoes. You just needed socks. I assume it's the same on all ships.
  5. We did Alaska last summer and did excursions through Royal. 2 Adults 2 kids and spent ~$2k on the excursions. We did something in every port. We are doing Alaska again this summer and this time we are doing 3rd party. We are spending ~$1600 this year, but doing some more adventurous things than last summer. There are a lot of 3rd party tour companies in Alaska that do the exact same tours as Royal at a cheaper cost. I'd recommend looking 3rd party.
  6. While it was nearly 20 years ago I lived in Trinidad for a year and would definitely recommend sticking with the excursions offered by the ship. I'm not sure where the ship will dock but if it's anywhere in Port of Spain there isn't much to do within walking distance and the public transport isn't very clear to figure out where you want to go.
  7. I know every day is different and so are everyone's experiences, but when we flew out of Seattle on a Monday this past summer we waited in the security line for 90 minutes! Hopefully that isn't the norm, but just know if can happen. There were people in line around us who missed flights because of it.
  8. Thinking about renting a car in Juneau for our cruise next summer and in my google research came across Turo. Never used this service before. It looks like Airbnb but for cars. Does anyone have experience using Turo in Juneau? If so would you recommend it? Or does anyone have other recommendations for car rental in Juneau? Thanks!!
  9. We had an Alaska cruise on Quantum in 2023 and in 2022 Quantum was having that engine trouble. Now we have another Alaska cruise booked on Radiance for 2024 and now she is have engine trouble. Good thing correlation isn't causation, but still maybe I need to stop booking Alaska cruises...
  10. I am a market researcher for another company. Like previously mentioned that feedback tab is for the website. I manage one for my company's website as well. I just went and looked at Royal's and the question they are asking is an NPS or Net Promoter Score question. They say how satisfied are you with the website, but really what it is asking and what they are reporting to the Royal exec's is how likely are you to recommend Royal Caribbean to others, based upon your experience with the website. The way the analysis is done on this type of question is if you answer a 9 or 10 you are a Promoter, 6-8 you are Neutral, 0-5 you are a Detractor. So if you think changes and updates need to be made to the website put a 0-5. If you think its okay, but don't really need changes put a 6-8. If you think it is amazing put 9 or 10. That's how it works anytime you see that scale on a survey for any company by the way. As someone who runs surveys and moderates focus groups I can say that there is a group of people in a company who looks at that data and tries to be your advocate within the company. Now getting the executives to listen to the results of the data we collect and make changes based off it is another story....
  11. We did the otters raptors and bears tour. At the end the bus driver gave us the option of going to town or the ship. Our bus elected the ship because it was only 30 minutes until the last shuttle back. So it might depend on the driver, what time it is, and what the group consensus is.
  12. Thanks! The day we are there we are in port for 12 hours but the only times offered for the zip rider through Royal are 8:30, 9:30, & 10:30. Hoping we can get tickets day of for later in the day after a morning excursion we have planned.
  13. Does anyone know if you can purchase tickets for the zip rider in Icy Strait Point the day of, or can you only get them through Royal in the cruise planner?
  14. We are sailing on Quantum next week (Finally)!! Some of the activities have started appearing on the app. One of them is Roller Skating which my daughter really wants to do. When I click on it it says "Price available before finalizing reservation." Just curious if anyone knows about how much it costs? Thanks!
  15. For our upcoming cruise my wife and I want to use the app to chat with each other. I booked the cruise under my account. At the moment my wife doesn't have an account with Royal. I'm guessing in order to use the app to chat she will need to 1) create her own account 2) download the app and sign in 3) connect our cruise to her account with our reservation number Am I missing anything? Thanks!
  16. I haven't been on a Royal Cruise yet. First one is in a few weeks! But I would love to see an option to add plans to the My Calendar on the app that aren't booked through Royal Caribbean. For example doing a hike on our own, or if you book a 3rd party excursion.
  17. Yeah we are on a June sailing and I've been seeing rumors both ways all over Facebook. I've even seen two different posts saying they reached out to the mayor of Skagway and one says it is true and one says it's still happening. So I'm not holding my breath one way or the other until I hear official word from Royal or the cruises start.
  18. We have our first Royal Caribbean Cruise coming up. It's me, my wife, and two kids under 10. Do we need to sign everyone up for C&A before the cruise or do we all get automatically enrolled after the cruise? If we do need to sign up before where do we do that? Thanks!
  19. In the cruise planner under on board activities. We sail June 12th.
  20. That's really helpful thank you! If we book it now to guarantee we have a spot then get a free slot while on board and cancel the paid reservation do you get the refund on the original form of payment or does it just become on board credit?
  21. We are sailing on Quantum to Alaska this summer. Just saw on the cruise planner tonight we can book iFly and North Star for a fee on our sea days. Are either of those attractions offered for free at anytime or is the only way to do them to pay for a time slot? Thanks!
  22. Hello Everyone! We are planning a cruise with my wife's extended family (i.e. her parents and her siblings with their kids) for next summer. I know the the first answer from most for my question below would be that this is a perfect situation to use a travel agent. While I agree, my wife and I actually really love doing the research/planning/booking etc. stuff ourselves. It's kind of a hobby of ours to plan out and research vacations. We must have been travel agents in another life ! We would need 4 cabins for everyone. So understanding we probably wouldn't use a travel agent, my question is would it be better to book all four cabins under one reservation or have each family book their own cabin? My initial thought is book them all on one so they are linked together. My wife and I are the only ones in the family who have cruised before so we think it would be easiest to just have us manage everything. Just wondering if there are any cons you foresee doing it that way. Thanks!!
