Cruiser70
Hi Cruisers I wanted to bring my hair dryer from home and asking if that is allowed? Have a great Sunday Pat
KJ777
I don't have an "official" answer but speaking from experience, I've brought my own hair dryer with me. I know they have one in the room but I'm partial to my own!

CrznTxn
They allow hairdryers. The wife brings hers and will not use the ones provided.
WAAAYTOOO
The hair dryers provided onboard are the type which require you to hold down a button the entire time you are using it. That, combined with the very low air volume output, make their hair dryers unworkable…and I have very short and carefree hair ! TXcruzer
You can absolutely bring your own hair dryer, and hair straightener, and curling iron. Food for thought, if your hair appliances are a Dyson product, they have a spotty history of not working at some times due to the electrical system on the ships and the digital circuitry in the appliances. VeraStarkey
Thank you for answering, it is my first time and that is why I am curious to know. WAAAYTOOO
VillainsGin
Adding to personal hair dryer being allowed on the cruise ships: Be careful to what type of hair dryer you are bringing, our room attendant by policy had to confiscate our hair dryer (left on vanity desk while attendant was cleaning) because it was a "ceramic" style hair dryer which generates more heat and airflow which can be a fire hazard. I completely understood after he explained the potential dangerous of our specific hair dryer and was able to get it back after the cruise. Great learning lesson to take into account the types of hair dryers/curling irons/etc. WAAAYTOOO

tonyfsu21
If you bring a hair dryer (Dyson) pack it and carry on the ship and you will have no issues. My wife made the mistake only one time and the checked suitcase with Dyson ended up at ship security. We were wondering where our last suitcase was at 5pm…. jlm
Going on AOS and noticed only 2 American outlets and 1 European. If I bring a European adapter will I be able to plug my American hair dryer in it? Thank you

I use a European adapter on every cruise, and have no issues with using US standard devices/chargers/etc... through the adapter.
WAAAYTOOO
You can absolutely burn up your hair dryer if you have incompatible wattages. Be very careful.
