Cory
Anyone know where the boats dock in Venice? This is for Enchantment of The Seas on Aug 21 2023. Also any hotel recommendations that are close to the dock! Thanks!

Well it does say Ravenna even at the very highest level of search results for this cruise. Just like you’re not actually going to dock in Rome, you’ll be in Civitavecchia and have to travel in to the city.
Morganno
There are two ways to get down. 1) book a transfer from Venice city center with RC, busses leave at 9am and 11am day of sailing and take around 2h30min to get there. 2) take the train to Ravenna from Venice then get a transfer to the port also through RC. The bus with RC is more expensive but a safer option as you don't have to worry about train strikes or cancelled trains but the train is far cheaper. Then the city authorities decided they didn't want huge cruise ships docking in the city any more, due to the damage they were causing. Royal moved to Ravenna; I don't know where the others went. But, unfortunately, the cruise lines all do this. They want to put the name of a port that's known and attractive to cruisers rather than places they might never have heard of. Then they put the actual port in brackets afterwards. And that can catch people out, if they're unaware of the practice. I personally believe it would be more honest to have, for example, "Ravenna, for Venice", but the chances of that ever happening are slimmer than none. I remember looking at maybe switching a cruise due to an overbooking and they told me the extra stop was Jerusalem (not a port). Apparently the call Ashkelon Jerusalem. Really threw me at the time! This helps a bunch, were flying in a couple of days early! Appreciate it!
Bazza
Hi @Cory We are on Explorer in September and are flying into Venice to spend a couple of nights there but then flying out of Bologna the day we get off the ship, as it is closer to Ravenna. Not sure if any use but thought would share! Enjoy. Cory
ScooterScott22
Some good info here - https://www.cruisemapper.com/ports/ravenna-port-261 It discusses some of the details around Royal and porting at that location. Cory
