Be aware: transatlantic testing 1 day prior

In case you don’t know or haven’t heard about it be aware that for a transatlantic sailing the test requirement is only 1 day prior to the sailing instead of 2

Transatlantic Sailing 

We can't wait for you to join us on our Transatlantic sailing. Please note, the following information is only for guests departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and ending in Barcelona, Spain.

Due to the fluidity of this situation, our protocols are subject to change, and we are committed to keeping you informed if they do.

Some destinations we visit require additional testing and may have restrictions for guests who are not up-to-date with their vaccines. As a result, we strongly recommend getting boosted before your cruise.
 

Testing

Pre-Cruise 
All guests 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to present a negative test result for an antigen test taken no more than
1 day before our sailing.

During the Cruise & Prior to Disembarking 
Guests 12 and older who are considered unvaccinated by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or who are not up-to-date with their vaccines will require additional testing during our sailing depending on itinerary.

All the more reason to get the at-home test. Super easy to get done 1 day in advance with results in 20 mins.

Wondering if we'll get a similar email for our Canada sailing -- their protocols are testing within one day of embarkation, but Royal hasn't said anything yet. DS is only 3, but his 3-day window for PCR wouldn't be affected because he'll get the antigen test at the pier.

If you are starting in Spain you will have to send your vaccination status prior to arrival in the SpTH App (Spain Travel App) and if you flying from outside the EU you will have to have a negative rapid test the day before your flight.  https://www.spth.gob.es/

We are flying into Amsterdam for our cruise on the Jewel of the Seas (August 2022) and Amsterdam required a negative test no more than 3 days before flight.  We will be doing the eMed test on the day we fly that way one test will get both the flight and the cruise.  We have already uploaded our Vax cards to Delta's Fly Ready App and they were accepted. 

For me, all this testing and extra steps sure is taking some of the excitement out of our pre-planning!

The same testing requirements apply for Italy:

"For transatlantic sailings, all guests, regardless of age, must be fully vaccinated. Additionally, all crew members onboard will be fully vaccinated."...
