Thorntor Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 Have tried for two days to add photo to Check In website. Everything else is completed and Sail Pass is available for printing. The RCCL app says "! Sorry, we hit a snag. We're unable to complete your request. Please try again later." Seems like I heard something on the news recently about the use of facial recognition software and hacking risks. Has anyone else experienced issues when attempting to upload pictures on this app? smokeybandit Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 I've never uploaded check-in photos on the app. I always use the website. WAAAYTOOO 1 Quote
CrznTxn Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 We have taken photos in the app to use but not uploaded photos. Did not like the photos and uploaded better ones on the website. On our last cruise the check in clerk did not like the photo and she retook it which did not go over well with the wife. She was glad they do not store the photos to use again. Quote
Dicey Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 We uploaded our photos on the app and they still took our photos on boarding day and used it for identification. We also had a bunch of other issues with the app. Safety tasks marked incomplete after we completed them, entertainment and dinner reservations not correctly reflected, account information never available. The app is not reliable. Quote

I said app, but I meant that I tried to upload the photos on the RCCL website. We uploaded the same photos on the website in January for our last cruise, but having trouble this time. When we got to the port, they already had our photos, so we did not have to re-take them during the boarding process. Quote
CrznTxn Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 I have had trouble uploading photos that are too small in size. Royal does not want a low resolution photo and I have had to go to a larger file size photo to upload. Quote

It didn't also say something like "Please use a minimum resolution of 900x900?" I tried to use the same photos from a July cruise for a March cruise and got that error. I just edited the photos to be at higher resolution and it took them (though it took 2 tries with the new photo) Quote
Pooch Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 Yeah I let them take it at the port. One less thing I need to hassle with. WAAAYTOOO and MikeK 2 Quote

As I said, we uploaded the same photo last month. Having them take our pictures during boarding is just too easy. WAAAYTOOO 1 Quote
MSUspartan Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 I got this same error Wednesday night when I was doing my son's picture. I did our other 3 pictures earlier in the day and had no issue. I haven't been able to get his to work since so maybe there is an issue right now. Quote
barjpoe Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 I've loaded them on the website, but they load sideways. So we have them do it at check in. Yeah it adds one more step but not that big of a hassle. Quote
Thorntor Posted February 19, 2022 Author Report Posted February 19, 2022 PROBLEM FIXED. It is now Saturday morning and I was able to upload the original pictures to the RCCL check-in website. Quote
TheSeaCallsMyName Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 I got the same message today when I was trying to complete my health check-in with loading the photo of my Vaccination card. Quote
Marian Alston Posted June 19, 2024 Report Posted June 19, 2024 I cannot take my security snapshot. Keep asking me to retake. I have an Android. Is there something in settings preventing or blocking me from taking my photo. Quote
JuJules Posted June 21, 2024 Report Posted June 21, 2024 I am having the same issue with my android samsung A53g phone. I am unable to take a selfie of myself via the Royal Carribean app. Therefore, I had to log into the Royal Carribean website and upload my photo this way. I was successful in uploading my photo from my Google gallery. There may be a possible issue with androids because my family had no problems with a iphone. Quote
