Love to hear about the vegetarian meals.  I'd love to hear what they were and more details on what they served.

They brought currys and one night made a fried rice with tofus.  I think if she had asked for grilled cheese or Mac and cheese she would have gotten it.  We found windjammer to be a bit tricky as she is not a huge salad fan.  She did love the Sorrento's pizza... They had a cheese and a vegetarian option every day.  She also found a great nacho bar in compass deli one day.  Jane

Jane this was a great warm up trip for your European cruise!  We you asked me about blogging I did not realise there was a section on here for that.  I probably will do updates on the "Live Blog" page when I am on Vision.  I just hope the Voom works well over there.

I didn't get it when we were on 4 years ago.  I have heard it isn't so great but I know I also will have cell service/slow data so I will see!!!   Jane

So...I'm back... Sitting on the hotel balcony waiting for the girls to wake up. We have bonded staying up until 2am and watching the first season of Once upon a time.  How did I not watch this show earlier?

We have one more day in fort Lauderdale and fly out tomorrow night. To get back to service... Amazing but once again I had specialty issues.  I had cruise planner booked the sushi making class for night 4.  On day one the sushi guy was trolling for customers (ok, snarky but I'm really irritated with him). When we said we were booked, he said oh please change...I have 38 people for night 4.  We thought formal night was going to stay day 2 so we let him pressure us into night 3. And he was really pressuring us to change it to night 1.  Turns out they changed formal night to the sea day night 3 so we went to customer service at the end of dinner night 2 and explained the situation.  Customer service called and changed us back.   Things were fine.  We get a call the next day from him confirming our night 3.  We said, no we had changed to night 4.  He got aggressive then and said no, we had to go night 3, and no, them, he couldn't cancel because I would have to go down to customer service again.  He was still yelling at me when I hung up on him. He continued to call the room (I didn't answer),  I went down to customer service, complained quite firmly and said we wanted to cancel the last night.  No way was I taking a class and spending time with this guy.  So even though it was under 48 hrs they cancelled.  They must have given him an earful as he called 4 more times that night.  I finally picked up and he had the nerve to ask if everything had worked out to my liking and was there anything he could do.  Too little too late and unfortunately I will write my first negative comment on anyone on my survey.  Ugh.  Sorry to rant!!!!

Ok... Not even sure what I've previously written lol. So here are random thoughts!   Our weather was horrible...my first sea day where it rained 12 hours straight. Everything was cancelled (belly flop, etc). We spent most of the day reading in schooner and bolaros but it emphasized to me that anything longer than a 4 day (or 5 to Mexico) would be just too much.

I have really 99.9 percent positives.  I have no idea how full the ship sailed, and that could make a huge difference, but I never felt like I couldn't get a seat or deck chair (deck chair may have been I was the only one brave enough to try and beat the rain lol).  The centrum doesn't really have enough seating to sit and watch shows but there was room to stand.  The love and marriage show was bizarrely set at 230 in the afternoon on sea day (we went, it was raining) and I heard some really different questions which made it fun!  @Joe01 I know you know a lot about cruise directors.  I thought tornado Tanya was fun... She seemed around and chipper but not over the top.

The replacement trip to nassau was finr.  We did the tourist trap 3 hour tour and hit the rum distillery (I still like dark kraken best),the rum cakes, the Queen's stairs and hit a restaurant for lunch.  The tour started 45 mins late...I'm not sure if they cut it short or not but everything felt rushed.  Royal, without asking, did credit us 10 a person though which was a nice surprise. I wouldn't do it again though... Maybe a resort for a day or on a bigger ship, just staying on.

Dinner....mdr was amazing as I said before.  I'm undecided on mdr though vs my time.  Our service was amazing but the first night conversation was so stilted.  It drove me nuts that people were late every night!  But we got to try brown chicken (not on the menu) and the fried tofu rice for Madison because one of our tablemates asked for it.  That was fun.  Overall I know in Europe we could not do mdr every night for sure.  We have a 4 night PKG booked... Please Lord do not let them give me a rough time over chops as I booked this a year ago... And we decided to do chefs table again.  I think we will be tired after tours and while it would be interesting to meet people, I think we will keep our my time and just sit the 3 of us.

Overall, I would not do majesty without Cuba or a very special port again.  I like small and love the service but this was too small of weather doesn't cooperate.

Please let me know if there is anything else people have questions on.  If I get organized I will try and put in a ton of pics but I can't figure out how to do more than 1 at a time and it takes forever!!!Jane

Awesome review.. Majesty was my first Royal Caribbean cruise but Its way to small for me now. Like you said just not enough to do especially when there is poor weather.. I am glad you really enjoyed it though. That Sushi guy was totally out of line. He should of never pressured you in the first place and I'm sorry you had to go through that. The more annoying thing is I bet he did it because he felt pressured by Royal and I hate that they pressure their workers in this way because ultimately it effects the guest and not in a good way lol. I think you made the right choice about keeping my time dining for Europe.. You are going to be tired some nights and might need to change some things around last minute (even though I know you are a planner and I am too but sometimes things happen.) I would of been really upset if my table mates showed up an hour late its just not right so I feel you on that too.. Also I love once upon a time. Amazing show especially for us Disney nerds.. Keep going the whole series is great!!

Since we got off the ship, the weather has been beautiful.  Very depressing!!! Arghhhhh!   But oh well,  I will get lots of sun in Europe where I hear it will be very hot.  I have never been ready to get off the ship before,  but 4 days on majesty was enough.

In terms of dining, I'm usually hugely flexible on times and stuff but I feel that Royal plays fast and loose with what they decide to do, and I'm sure he was pressured to fill every night.  But ive only had two negative experiences On a ship and they have both had to do with cruise planner dining.  It's annoying and it frustrated me how he tried to protect his eating.  And then I feel guilty.  But we actually have the sushi class booked on vision so Madison and I will get to try it then at least.  The fact that I'm stressed about the 4 night PKG now on vision kills me but the savings on the cruise planner was huge.  Other than Giovanni's on my husbands bday we can be flexible on what restaurant and when!

My kids tell me the first season of Once upon a time is the slowest... And I'm still enjoying it so I look forward to the rest!  Jane

Its been my favorite Mexican/Spanish restaurant for 25 years. I am so glad you got to go and Enjoy it.. Also don't stress too much about the dining package I get it every time and on the first day I go and make my reservations and I never have any issues. I am going on a quick 3 nighter next weekend and I am excited to try out the Unlimited dining package.. I plan to take full advantage of Playmakers and hooked seafood

My next ship I book (after Europe and spring break Rhapsody if we go) is gonna have a playmakers for sure!!!   Only way I could drag in my husband to hooked is maybe for shrimp... He likes shellfish and not so much fish.  Can't wait to hear how you like the ultimate...I could do it for 3 days but not sure if get value out of longer... Again, unless I didn't worry about lunches and just treated it like the drink pkg

I worry about the pkg only in that I had an awful time on allure when they wouldn't let me book 150.  I'm sure on vision they will let us book whatever with only 3 specialties but it's definitely stressful to know its the first thing I have to do.  But hey, I know my cabin on this one!  Jane

I am surprised to hear about what happened to you on Allure and I feel bad because 150 is such a great restaurant.. I personally am Not Team MDR. I have found that the quality of food is just not up to par for me so I personally but the unlimited package for every cruise but I am also a foodie and I like having lunch and dinner in specialty restaurants. I find the dessert on Royal in restaurants or anywhere to be not good so for lunch I skip dessert and then I don't have food fatigue but of course this is just my personal choice and I understand plenty of people enjoy the MDR and 10 years ago I loved it but sadly I find it has declined to much for me and if you can get on Symphony that would be the boat I would say try the unlimited package on.. I had the ultimate for it in January and it was awesome and I went to 150 twice. I get the package no matter what but for people who don't want it all the time I would say wait to get the unlimited for when you are on an Oasis class ship because there is just so many options. Also I am not really into drinking and the casino gives me free drinks so I don't have to buy a drink package so I guess that's also why I don't mind buying the dining package.. I am looking forward to your review of your vision cruise. Looks like its quite close and that should be a fantastic blog.

We leave the end of July!  Can't wait!  Everyone says we just got screwed on allure and we did just book it separately.  If I didn't drink as much I could eat more!  We had pretty much decided against mdr and only went once in Allure but there were so many specialty restaurants.  Majesty's mdr was truly wonderful....I was so impressed with my dinners!!   But 12 days of that much food will just be too much in Europe and we also plan to spend the money on Cafe lunches so we may not even be remotely hungry.  Piece of pizza in park Cafe may be it!!!   Jane

Totally agree if I was in Europe for a 12 nighter I am not sure I could handle it either plus like you said I rather eat at some local cafe's for lunch.. Now I am even more excited for your blog so I can hear about all the wonderful places in Europe you are going!

Love your blog too. You did significantly better with pictures than I did. Glad you got to spend so much family time together.

I actually had a ton of pics but it was so slow loading....I'm gonna read that other thread to look how to speed up.... Of course if I wasnt so tired by using the drink pkg I could have kept up day to day lol.  Hoping on the next one! Jane
