  1. You don't need to worry about them. They've been discontinued. At least that's what we were told last summer.
  2. My experience was the genie could move mountains. hibachi...no problem. Comedy club...also no problem.

  4. What you read about Oasis is factual.
  5. I haven't done the CK since they changed their menu last year. I'm on Anthem next month. My plan is to eat in the CK on the first night to get the filet. I've sourced the menus for the CK. There are some nights we'll eat in CK, others we'll do specialty. This will be my first cruise ever in which I do not step foot in the MDR. We will also be taking @Matt's idea of doing a "pre-dinner" with the little one either at the Jammer or Johnny Rockets and then we'll deposit her at Adventure Ocean while my wife, friend and I go off to enjoy our adult time.
  6. On Freedom? I know Park Cafe is in the Solarium on some smaller ships.
  7. The CEO Michael Bayley has stated they were going to improve the pizza. I'm not sure that's happened yet. It certainly wasn't very good when I was on Harmony in the summer. We'll see if it has improved next month on the Anthem.
  8. I had my choice of beer and wine, but no hard booze.
  9. We’ve been to Labadee a bunch but never CocoCay. That is scheduled to change next month (weather permitting). Some questions..... 1. Is there a dedicated suites beach? Any upgraded food options? 2. Is there sufficient shade? Is it necessary to get a cabana or bungalow? 3. I see there is a water slide. Any height requirements for this? My little one is about 40.5 inches (102 cm for those of us in the rest of the world who use metric...) 4. On that subject, any recommendations for the little ones at this stop? Thank you all. I’m not thrilled with the intinerary for this trip except for CocoCay..this trip is more about experiencing Quauntum class ship for the first time. I’m hopeful we’ll be able to make it ashore.
  10. Any answer other than a Miami Vice is wrong
  11. Nah. Different chain. Similar slogan. I'd take a 5 dollar hot and ready from little ceasars over Sorrentos.. That's how bad the RCI pizza is
  12. Sorrentos is not good. I'd gladly take any of the big chains over it- Dominos, Papa John's , Pizza Hut, or even up here in Canada Pizza Pizza.... that is saying something Michael Bayley has said they are working on the pizza... There had been no improvement on my last cruise.. we'll see what the Anthem has in store for me in a month.
  13. Symphony will have a pool in the solarium, different ( potentially better dining ) options but will not have DreamWorks characters... Of course the shows will be different.
  14. I repriced a few months ago and saved thousands with a kids sail free promo. I was shocked. JL- maybe they are picking on you for being from North Jersey instead of Asbury Park?
  15. For us we figure in the cost of the passport as part of the cost of doing business. I get some people are on a budget but in the grand scheme of things a passport that lasts 5 or 10 years for adults costing 100 bucks or so is relatively insignificant. Mine and the wife's passport are valid for 10 years. That works out to 32 dollars a year between the two of us. The little one's is good for 5 years, or until it doesn't look like her- whichever comes first. Her passport costs significantly less. Again, there could come a time where a passport is required for any travel. I'd hate to get to a country's border and be turned away just because I only had a birth certificate and a DL. I had a passport long before I needed to have a passport and I appreciate the freedom it affords me. Anyway- just my 5 cents ( In Canada we don't have pennies anymore..)
  16. I've never understood the reluctance that so many people have when it comes to getting a passport. What happens if all of a sudden when you pull up to a foreign port and they have changed their policies requiring a passport to enter? Unlikely to happen, but it could. Or if something bad happens and you need to fly back to return home early for one reason or another... I don't get why people don't spend the few bucks and get one.
  17. The NY strip isn’t bad.... The chops filet was amazing....and I’m not a filet guy.
  18. We had to wait until 1pm for our sky loft suite.....
  19. I wouldn't get off the boat at a private island if that was the case.
  20. This post gives me anxiety just reading it. Weather cannot be defeated. There were other alternate flights for us.. But the weather in Fort Lauderdale was so horrific the airport was closed for hours... I spent 10 bucks to get to the hotel. 100 dollars for the room. 10 bucks to get from the hotel to the pier. Money well spent. If that 120 dollars was going to prohibit me from cruising I'd have to scrounge elsewhere. I'm not going to risk missing my ship just to save the cost of a hotel.
  21. Coming for work is totally different. Pleasure trips are usually hassel free at customs here.
  22. MDR menus looked pretty standard to me. Beef tenderloin for the second formal night was new to me though. It had always been prime rib.
