  1. No idea where we are... But it is a helluva lot warmer than where we were.

High of 17 today. Costal Kitchen for breaky then Ifly. North star ressys this afternoon as well.

856 kids on board. 200 aquanot aged kids... Only 30 spaces per session in that room. Thank God for the drink package and WiFi while we wait... (go ahead.. Judge me. I'll sleep fine).

More to come later after I drive 15 cocktails into my yap.

    Ask any questions.

For the record, no issue getting beer for the room. Wasn't however able to get a cooler.

There was lots of beer in my room.

Not as much anymore. Must be evaporating as I get further south.

Dinner tonight was in the CK. Pork belly app was spectacular. Filet was very good for a main. Cheesecake for dessert was very good. Service was phenomenal.

    Wonderland and Ifly tomorrow.

Have a great cruise! Can I ask you all the qustions I forgot to ask @twangster? Can you tell me if you see information on booking the escape room? Also, are you eating in the MDR? Can you post pictures of menus? Are they the same cruise to cruise? Thanks and enjoy!

Not stepping foot in the MDR for the first time ever. Our genie booked escape room. I'll see if I can get any info. Menus should be the same from cruise to cruise.

Brooklyn lager isn't terrible beer and it's on tap ( at Michael's).  Canadian with proud Molson muscle here, but beer like food is a very personal preference.

I'll give you that. Brooklyn lager is the closest American brew to Creemore Springs (my favourite beer) that I've found to date.

Well first off, thanks for offering to feed our vicarious cruise addiction for another 9 days! Your service is much appreciated! :10_wink:

As to the beer, @twangster had showed in one of his earlier liveblogs that the pub on board actually has a pretty good selection of decent beers, including some good German double bock. Have a couple of those instead of the Bud and you’ll be singing a different tune, I’m sure! :3_grin:

You raise a valid point about Michael's. I'll gladly give those brews a try.. But this Canadian is discerning when it comes to barley and hops.

  6. Greetings all.

I'm writing to you from my pre-cruise hotel listening to the dulcet tones of airbuses and boeings flying overhead as I await the arrival of the Anthem tomorrow morning.

Travelling with me is my wife, 3 year old daughter and a friend of ours who has NEVER CRUISED BEFORE. We are staying in a grand loft suite (I feel she may be screwed for any subsequent cruise if she likes...)

I'll do my best to post here daily but copious amounts of watered down American beer (if you can call it that) may get in the way.

Feel free to ask any questions. I'll do my best to answer them.

Oh. Before I forget.. The Lids store located within the Jersey Garden mall had paw patrol hats on for 50% off. I know you'll sleep better knowing that.

    Cheers.

Newest deck plans show just how big Playmakers will be:

    That. looks.awesome.

RCI has long ignored sports fans. Other lines have catered to us.  As mentioned above, technology has improved. RCI should be able to give us the NHL/NFL/MLB/NBA/NCAA we crave!!!

This morning, when I checked the prices on my cruises, I noticed a new discount that I have never seen before.

The Sky Loft (soon to be renamed Star Loft) on Harmony is showing a $1000 discount that they have called a "Star Savings".

The sailing where I saw this is 17 Feb 2019 on Harmony.  This is currently the only Star Class suite available for this sailing.  As a rule, the Sky/Star Loft suites are priced slightly higher than the 2 BR Aqua Theater Suites but the price on the Sky Loft Suite is significantly lower than what we paid for the 2 BR ATS A1.  Granted, the ATS that we have booked is a fully refundable deposit while the Sky Loft is non-refundable, but it still seems to be a good price ($13K for everything) on this suite, especially with the additional $1000 off.

I'm not sure why this is. Location and proximity to the Coastal Kitchen/Suite Lounge perhaps?  The Loft suites seem to be more opulent ( I've not yet sailed in an ATS).

The  ATS are a bit bigger, have a second bedroom and that balcony!

Can you buy a 1 day Voom pass ?  I've never bought internet so I don't know.  I thought you had to buy for all of the remaining days of your cruise.  Maybe I'm thinking of the drinks package - also something I've never purchased....

You can indeed.  On board only.

Question we are a family that likes to unplug during our cruise - no phones/internet/emails etc.  however during our next cruise we need to have access to a computer to send some documents.  My question is do they have computers on board (like a business office) where we can buy 15-20 minutes of computer time?

Your best bet might be just to buy a one day Voom pass and upload the document from your own device.

  11. I've done it three times.

The first time, I sent my folks on their first cruise for the 30th anniversary... It was on the Carnival Triumph out of NYC ( Don't hate me- it was cheap. I was younger and on a budget). We gave them separate gift bags containing motion sickness pills and I want to say sun screen. In the next bag was a folder with a picture of the ship leaving the NYC harbour with the Mahattan sky line in the background and all of their travel docs.

We've since sent brought both sets of folks with us on the Radiance with us in Alaska in 2013 and the Harmony last year. Last year was much less ceremonious... " Hey- can you guys look after the grand daughter? "  "Of course, when? " " Night 6 we want to go to Chops.. oh, ps, you're coming with us"

Heck, staying in a Royal Loft they got the drink package and I'm sure the Genie can arrange a meet and greet. Plus the Genie is doing one up and getting seats reserved, not pointing to a VIP section.

Never stayed in the Royal Loft.. But you are correct.. As someone who has been lucky enough to have travelled in Star Class this is not something that would be any benefit to me.

  13. The feed is the NFL international feed. Same video( unless they cut away to show on air talent) for the most part. While the international feed does have a few of their own cameras they let the main network do the heavy lifting. Same wild sound for ambient sounds... they get a feed from NBC... Different announcers . No Al,Cris and Michele... and since the advertisers pay NBC for the commercial real estate, no American commercials. The world feed is sold to broadcasters all over the world who then sell their own ads.

....and remember that suite guests are not limited to the very limited room service menu.  Suites are allowed to order room service from the main dining room dinner menu.  Just remember that you are limited to ordering dinner from the MDR menu during the hours that the MDR is open.  Other than that, order away !

Star Class guests are permitted to order from any of the specialty restaurants as well.

One of my favourite perks. Sabor on my balcony? I think so!

Next month will be lunch from Michael’s!
