  1. #poorpoortwangster How many days till the next cruise? 7-14? Willing to bet it's less than a month ?
  2. Yes, they open from 12pm - 1:30pm on embarkation day. You will find it very quiet and relaxing there. The lunch menu is just ok, but you will get peace and quiet.
  3. Public Service Announcement: You all know that this is a "When is Your Next Cruise?" thread right? ???
  4. Really? You can get sick anywhere. And motion? Ask them if they know how big some of these ships are nowadays. But of course they don't because they won't give it a try. Lots of car, trains, plane etc. accidents recently too. Often that is due to judgement, the ship/Royal does not "make them" go missing. Yup. Every time you step out of your house. Tell them Royal has a full time meteorologist who is really good at his job. That's what I would say. ? Some people love being negative. Don't worry about them. You have chosen a fantastic ship to start cruising on. Go and enjoy it to the fullest!
  5. You can ask the concierge to cancel your MTD reservations at the same time. They have access to all of that. I don't know if they get cancelled automatically. Last time we had both CK and MTD reservations I cancelled my own. But now knowing the the concierge can access it, I just ask them to do it.
  6. ^^^True story. I have tried. lol And here in igloo land, I can't even get Midori locally so making it at home isn't possible either ?
  7. We have cruised out of Port Canaveral 3 times (not with Royal though). Each time we have stayed at the Hyatt Regency inside of Orlando airport. I could go on and on about how much I love the convenience of that hotel. Not only is it in good condition (and they recently remodeled it so it looks even better now) but it is so wonderful to get off the plane, pick up your bags, and then head up the elevator to your room. No cab or ride share needed. I've always looked at Cocoa Beach and then decided against it because many of the properties there seem a bit more run down. And you would still need to go around and get dinner/maybe breakfast. To add to the convenience, the restaurant there, McCoy's, is really good for a hotel restaurant. Prices are fair and the food quality is superb. It's not fancy in that you have to dress up after a plane ride to go there but it is not a grease pit either, like some hotel restaurants can be. The food is fresh and flavourful. If that is not to your liking, then there are tons of fast food options plus Starbucks in the terminal below. None of it requiring you to leave at all. In the morning, simply grab your luggage and head down to baggage claim. From there you can rent a car, grab a cab/ride share, catch a shuttle to the port. We'll be booking here again for our cruise on Harmony in 2020. I have also been in contact with Cortran's (they have almost perfect reviews on Trip Advisor) and they will actually pick up at the hotel, so we don't even need to head down to baggage claim this time.
  8. Coffee, tea, water, iced tea, lemonade, and sometimes flavoured water. And milk.
  9. Not only is the sharing of packages not allowed, but you can only get one drink at a time even with the package. If you don't think you will get value with the drink package, then just pay for the drinks a la carte. Or like suggested above, one person can get the deluxe and the other gets the refreshment.
  10. Not that I have ton of experience, but most of the ships that I've been on have pretty standard mixes and liquor selections between them.
  11. No seat assignments with the reservation. First come first serve for seats. It is recommended that you show up at least 20min prior to showtime but realistically the venues fill up by 30 mins prior. We usually wait for the doors to open at 45 mins prior. And the aqua theater shows are most definitely amazing!
  12. Lol. You and @twangster are the spreadsheet masters. Not me. The only spreadsheet I have going is the one that tracks my C&A points and which ships I will block on. That idea was courtesy of @twangster.
  13. So true. We rounded off all the OA class ships with SY last month and now we are circling back to do Oasis in March, then HM again, then Allure after her amp. Cannot wait. I was just telling Hubby that OA is going to be almost like brand new ship from what we remembered back in 2009.
  14. I had that with the Cauliflower Fried Rice from the Night 7 menu. The grilled the chicken with shrimp and tossed it into the rice. It was one of the best meals of the cruise!
  15. Not sure why Allure is all over the place with their rotation. People lately have been posting Night 4 for the filet, and yours was 7. Best bet to make sure you don't miss anything is to ask for the suite concierge to send you the menus ahead of time. That is what we have been doing. Then we plan around that.
  16. Not sure why but Allure runs their CK menu on a different rotation compared to the rest of the fleet. Filet is night 1 but Allure does it Night 4.
  17. IMO, the food quality has really gone downhill over the last few years. You still get the MDR experience in CK. Just on a smaller scale, like @Fairlynew new said, less hectic. More peaceful. Better food.
  18. Both my sisters and their families are on this sailing with me and we can't even justify it as a split.
  19. Most of the time you have to wait until the suite concierge emails you. However, there have been a few reports that some were able to make them online on their cruise planner. In our own experience, we were able to do it online the first time we sailed Anthem in March 2018 but that was it. All other suite sailings after that we had to wait for the suite concierge.
  20. Very true but that will only be for a short time because HM will be due for a dry dock in 2021 and she might get additions to match the rest in terms of dining. Just a guess, but a ship does go into dry dock every 5 years so she is due.
  21. Sorry, I can't help it on this typo. That sounds gross. ?? I'm guessing you meant "pea". lol
  22. ^^^This. With HM moving to Port Canaveral, this might be a deterrent to some and a huge advantage for others.
  23. ^^^That's what we do. When we book a suite, the agent, whether that be Royal or a TA, automatically puts us in My Time. We just don't make reservations.
