  1. Parent of the Year award. ? Kidding of course. It is such a hard decision. We faced something like this with Irma. Not a cruise but we were scheduled to arrive at Disney two days before Irma was expected to arrive. I felt so much anxiety over decided to go or not. Delta was already offering the waiver of change fees and so was Disney. We decided to go anyway and I was sick to my stomach. The plane from DTW to MCO was less than 1/3 full. My family thought that we were nuts. In the end we lost 1 park day but would do it again. The parks were empty the week that we were there because there were so many cancellations. When you book any vacation during hurricane season, you have responsibility to expect that it is a real possibility. No one can control the weather. And Royal is being more than generous. People need to look at the bigger picture. Yes the situation is not good, but there are also people out in the Caribbean and Florida who have much bigger problems at the moment than their vacation plans being ruined. Let’s just pray that everyone gets out of this safely. Sorry about the blog hijack @Matt. Rant over. Back to regular programming. ?
  2. Yes. All 3 cruises out of PC we have stayed in Orlando and gone to PC the day of boarding.
  3. I have been told that the price varies by ships and sailing. I have also been told that Oasis class sailings are being charged more than Voyager class sailings. My prices are for Harmony December 2020. I have no other sailings going to Coco Cay that I can compare it to. However, looking at what others are posting, I can pretty much draw the conclusion that what I have been told is correct.
  4. Yes. I did. I preferred it the way Symphony did it but I still had no problems with the other way. I’ve had it in the MDR as well. The quality is a bit better in CK.
  5. You can ask, but what @JohnUK is saying is that they are under no obligation to answer at this point as they have guests on current and upcoming sailings to handle. In addition, with 7-8 months out, a number of things can change from the concierge to the details and the policy of the D+ benefit.
  6. I do. A regular bottle of water on Royal is $3.00. I go through tons of water a day. I get my value in bottled water alone. Add to that a few specialty coffees, fresh juices, and smoothies (on Oasis class ships) and the refreshment package is a no-brainer for me.
  7. @devbak150 we cruised a few years back in December. The weather was just as @Matt described. The only minor drawback was that the beach was a bit on the cool side. Other than that, very comfortable. We are cruising again next December. There are some great rates at that time of the year between US Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  8. Could not agree with this more. Also, keep in mind that April is very far off in terms of crew contracts. It is very difficult to know who the concierge would be for sure 7-8 months out.
  9. Sadly, no. Last year prices dropped quite a bit over Black Friday. I am watching to see what happens.
  10. Those are cheaper than the March 2020 pricing that I am looking at for those exact same properties.
  11. Did it look like this? This is the version we had both times on Anthem. Looking at the menu, it says Butter Poached Lobster with Champagne sauce. ??
  12. Yes. Only for 7 night and longer sailings.
  13. It’s card access but JS cards have no access. Someone would have to open the door for you. The hostess podium is inside so it makes it pretty awkward.
  14. Meet & Mingle is run through Royal Caribbean. You register through them. Here's the link: https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/ccEntry.do
  15. Fingers crossed for what JVF is hoping for...that it crosses Hispaniola and loses some steam. #poorpoorBot I have no doubt that you have a back up plan for the block. lol
  16. ^^^ I could not agree more with this. I also hated doing this. Anthem does it better where the podium is outside of CK and you don't feel like a second class citizen.
  17. LOL!!! Exactly...no CK. I have not a care what I eat! Truthfully, if we take this cruise, each port is an early start and we'll likely be out all day (7-8 hours out) since we've ever visit Eastern Canada or New England. Hubby and I are guessing that we will be wiped out by dinner time and WJ might just be most convenient. Great tip! With your dining package, was Izumi covered for up to $35pp?
