  1. @AlmondFarmerI hate to say it, but you might want to dig deeper when your agent tells you it doesn’t apply to you. Many of the suites that I book there are not many of them in the same category. I can tell you that after years of tracking my pricing, if the price goes down on one suite, it almost always follow suit for the sold out ones. I think there was only one or two times for me where it has not. There once was a time when I was stuck with a not so great agent where I would notice price drops and proceed to message them and was told, no, yours went up or it did not apply. This was early on when I first started booking suites. One time I was so annoyed that I actually called Royal myself and told the rep that I believe my pricing went down and thought that my agent wasn’t being honest with me. I told Royal that I was aware they could not discuss pricing with me but asked if they could at least tell me if it was worth a call back to my agent. They said most definitely. The rep made a note in my reservation that I had called and I called my agent back to check the notes. I ended up saving about $500 on that one particular re-price. Needless to say, I am no longer with that agent. Lol
  2. @twangsteris correct. There is a certain amount of leeway with the FCCs that go unsaid. Sort of a YMMV sort of thing. That being said, the official answer is that no, you cannot stack them at the moment. For your specific situation, you could either upgrade if you don’t want that extra $100 remaining, or the safer thing to do would be take your refund before the end of the year. As far as extensions go, Celebrity did extend their FCC deadline today to May 2022 so perhaps Royal will follow suit.
  3. From my understanding, it's scenario 1 at the moment.
  4. For us, Christmas is for family, and there's a lot of us, so that will always be best at home. However, we went on our first New Year's cruise in 2018 and while it was pricey, it definitely won't be our last. We loved it and we were totally planning another one before this covid mess. We'll have to see what we can squeeze down the road. And @CHRIS WONG, that New Year's cruise on Indy was where we had a chance to meet you! ?
  5. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I have had it come up in a search with 2 or 4 guests. The official word from Royal is just "coming soon". When they released the Summer 2022 (May-October) itineraries a few weeks ago, the villas were gone within 24 hours. They are the first to go!
  6. I would say try it once, especially since it's included with Star. We did it once, did not think it would really be our thing and it wasn't really. But we have no regrets about trying. The whole thing is an experience in itself. The one thing we love there is "The World" dessert. We even had our Genie arrange it so that we could just have that after dinner without having to eat dinner there.
  7. That is correct. In order to qualify for double points, you have to have at least cruised once and be gold status.
  8. Do it! My one regret is that we did not do it right from the start.
  9. For me, its the ship model. Started that collection a few years back.
  10. Good to know. I have never taken that route before. We always book at least 3 so that we can avoid getting repriced. But definitely good to know for the future.
  11. Not necessarily, no. There is a lot in your post so I will try to unpack it the best I can. You can generally book an ATS with only 2 people. However, they may very likely have asked you for 3 to lock your price down. 3 people on your reservation locks the booking price down. Two does not. If you book with only two and add later, you will be re-priced at whatever the prevailing rate is. This particular room there is debate as the the minimum amount. FWIW, it has come up for me when I search 2 or 4 people so YMMV. However, my guess is also that 3 locks your price down so perhaps that is why they asked for 3. You can almost always book an ATS with just two people. But if you add another guest at this point, you will most definitely get re-prices because again, 3 is required to lock in the price. KSF is often a great deal. However, it is true that to take advantage of it, they have to re-price it. Sometimes, it will not work out in your favour. Also, keep in mind that with KSF, if you are trying to apply FCCs, you won't be able to because those kids are not paying "cruise fare" if they have KSF. Hope that helps and doesn't confuse you further. And welcome to the message boards!
  12. If you look at cruise deck plans, https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Anthem-of-the-Seas, it looks like the opposite for Sky Loft suites. Important Size Information Dimensions vary: Deck 8- (740 sq. ft., balcony 183 sq. ft.); Deck 10- (673 sq. ft., balcony 183 sq. ft.) Here's the link for Quantum: https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Quantum-of-the-Seas
  13. According to cruise deck plans and reports from a few others, it's the opposite. Deck 10 center GLS is a bit larger than the ones on Deck 8. But not by much.
  14. In other non-TML news, as expected, border closure extended yet again. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/canada-u-s-border-closure-extended-again-to-jan-21-2021-1.5227426
  15. The answer is that nobody knows. There is a lot of speculation but no official answers. Personally, I don’t think it will go. I just cancelled my March 2021 sailing on Allure.
  16. In his defence, we were still on Deck 17 but yes, he was so confused. ?
  17. +1 on all three! If Hubby were answering this, he would agree with @Jax and say the laundry. I don't care about that cause I don't trust anyone with my clothes lol.
  18. I have zero issues wearing a mask in all public areas. Hubby works in healthcare. He wears a mask daily. Kids wear a mask at school. If wearing a mask in public areas means that we can get sailing again and keep others safe, then we have zero issues with it. My biggest issue (as I have said from the start) is our closed borders and 14 day quarantine.
  19. I pasted the link to your blog, @Jax's blog, and @WAAAYTOOO's SC Anthem blogs in my original post here in this thread. ?
  20. First cruise I lost due to covid last March, I took the FCC. Then in April, I paid in full for my July 2020 sailing, which I also lost and took FCC for. As the pandemic progressed and the situation grew more and more uncertain, we have not paid anymore cruises in full after that July 2020 one. I have lost 4 more since then, and one they cancelled, they other ones I either moved before final payment or I cancelled under CWC.
  21. It's true. Hubby has been talking about for a few days now lol. I agree with @Gears, I told him the Leafs will still find a way to mess it up.

  23. I just booked 8724 last week and the feedback from the SC community (regarding the noise from 270) was enough to make me switch to Deck 10 within an hour of booking. That being said, if Deck 8 is where you want to be, any SC suite is fantastic. And for us, it is a European cruise so we know that we are going to have early mornings. If for your sailing, you think you will be up later anyway, the noise from 270 might not even be a factor.
  24. Hi there. Welcome to the message boards. See this thread. It has very similar things to what you are asking. Star class is amazing! Enjoy every moment of it. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/20472-grand-loft-suite-questions/
