  1. Okay..that makes sense, i thought Allure went back to Gibraltar to drop crew and returned.
  2. Okay riddle me this? Since Allure was closer to the port in Spain for repairs, why not send the other ship that was in Gibraltar to pick up the crew from Allure instead of Allure returning and disembarking those crew? Allure is the one with Izopod issues and not the smaller ship. Things that make you go hmmmmm.
  3. I've got that as well and what i was told is they (RCL) goes off the current price that your room list for now and the rate of the room that your looking at..the price difference is what you pay for an upgrade. That doesn't sit well with me, since the price it list for now is lower that what i've payed for it..why not give the room to me for the difference of what i paid and the new room. I was told that's not how it works. ? Worst part of it was i couldn't get a reprice since the company that i booked it thru set up the wrong date for final payment and paid it off. I'm still 108 days out from final payment date. ?
  4. I say we go back to glass bottles and brown paper bags...bottles could be cleaned and reused, paper bags could be recycled...plus..you could get a nickel for each coke bottle back then ?
  5. @RCIfan1912 I'm a firm believer that masks currently being worn do nothing for you, as they are not the proper masks required. The general population doesn't understand the transmittal process, much less what it requires for a true decontamination. Think of it this way...you wear a mask, but no gloves and go into a store, pick up an item then decide you don't want it, like many before you have. You place it back on the shelf continue with your shopping. Later on after you get back home and unload the items that you purchased from your bags, placing thing where they needed to be. Did you decontaminate the items before you put them away? Who all touched those items before you did? Did they have the virus? Did you touch your face or any part of your body, without thinking about it? Did the store decontaminate the items before they put them on the shelfs? What about the people loading and unloading?
  6. We're in the same boat, but decided to stay with Allure, since we scored the intern price for the DBP and know we will be sailing here again in the distant future..might even try for a TA if and when they decided to finish up the full AMPED process on her.
  7. I hope so, especially before final payment is due.
  8. I just don’t have faith in this sailing and y’all’s group cruise is after ours. ?
  9. Now I’m in more of a quandary of what will become of our next cruise, I don’t see it happening based on Canada’s stance of not allowing Cruise ships to port in their country. We don’t have any options at this time for a lift and shift, no cruise like it on the books.
  10. Sorry that y’all Canadian won’t be allowed to cruise, much less travel this year based on how your current leadership is looking at it. This isn’t me trying not to be obnoxious or anything, just your government is more restricted in what you can do based on current laws.
  11. Here’s how I look at it, it is a virus somewhat like the flu and we all know there isn’t a complete cure for that. So there will be a vaccine developed and it won’t cure all, because it will be for a current strain that hasn’t mutated and will still require some form of treatment. With that being said, I say...let the cruising begin!
  12. @JLMoran Here’s an opportunity for you Joe, just in case your looking for a replacement cruise on Celebrity. https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-deals/special-offer?allowMobile=y&ecid=em_23004563&rid=1795115012&mes=Celebrity Dream Big Sales Launch 051420 MAY 2020 EM&emsc=CPR_NAN_NAN_NAN_NAN_USA_DE_0_NAN&empf=Y&emct=&lnkid=HERO
  13. Well, if you find them, slap the crap out of them for me! ?
  14. Well, this is interesting, i got this email today and it's the only thing that we've received so far from RCL....no FCC certificate to be see or had via any emails...no deposits for the port fees & taxes have been deposited to our accounts. I guess this is just a blanket email that is being sent out?
  15. I'm just going to speculate and say they just fix the izpod and what ever general maintenance that she needs, as to reserve what cash they have for other unforeseen circumstances for the time being.
  16. Because you see this as hardship where it isn't. Its a small discomfort for a short period in their life and i feel empathy for those that are truly struggling to provide ends meat for their families.
  17. Beat's being in Iraq or Afghanistan! Prove me wrong.
  18. @J-Fitz You make it sound like there being beaten and forced to live in harsh conditions..There are people wishing they were on a ship...getting paid doing nothing...You do realize there are people that aren't getting paid and wondering who's going to pay there rent and where there next meal is coming from? Small business owners that have gone out of business due to the current situation and you're worried about them.. Seriously? You can say what you want about me, but in reality if i have food, water and a shelter..I'm good, everything else is just gravy on top!
  19. How stupid! It's not like RCL can pull into a port and drop them off and say..go catch your flight. It's hard enough for them getting clearance to a port for general supplies, much less that country allowing you to disembark for the airport...that isn't currently flying international. I'm sure there doing the best the can with the current situation that's at hand. Are they still under contract? if so, not much can be done. If not, good luck as i stated above with transportation situation. They should be somewhat grateful that they have food, water and shelter.
  20. i wouldn't mind doing Bermuda, but i would prefer that out of a 10 day sailing we stay at each port for 2 days minimum and not do an itinerary like below. The question is can Brilliance dock at all the ports in Bermuda? If my memory serves me right i believe Serenade did a Bermuda sailing only, but it was 7 days.
  21. What is your best guess, based on the information given as to what will happen in this scenario? Cruise is booked out of Boston and return for 10 nights sailing to PORTLAND, MAINE SAINT JOHN, NB (BAY OF FUNDY) SYDNEY, NOVA SCOTIA CORNER BROOK, NEWFOUNDLAND CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA BAR HARBOR, MAINE. With possible ports being closed in Canada for 2020. Do you think she will sail? And if so, Where could she sail for 10 days from Boston and back? Or do you think the cruise would be canceled completely? PORTLAND, MAINE SAINT JOHN, NB (BAY OF FUNDY) SYDNEY, NOVA SCOTIA CORNER BROOK, NEWFOUNDLAND CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA BAR HARBOR, MAINE
  22. Washington is opening up...slowly. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/inslee-announces-extended-stay-home-order-outlines-plan-to-reopen-washington-in-phases/
  23. Point being is that the cruise industry would have to ask for a waiver from the PVSA to sail from Seattle to Alaska, with justification being Canadian ports closed for 2020. If the cruise industry was smart they would be also talking to Alaska's representatives in supporting their efforts to stimulate the economy since a lot of jobs (1 in 10) rely on tourism. That's how they could bypass Canada. @AshleyDillo Remember a waiver was just used recently for the support of PR. I'm not saying that it will happen, just saying that anything is possible.
  24. We did the same thing for our Alaska cruise on 5/29/20, the only thing that I can tell is that if you filled out the request via online and submitted it, it doesn’t take affect immediately in the system. However if you call to have it added, that process shows almost immediately.
