  1. I Live in Ft. Lauderdale.. I just want you to know the Miami airport might be busy that week because that is also spring break for Public School in Ft. Lauderdale and I'm sure people will be flying out of Miami to go places so good idea you decided to come a day early.
  2. reading this post made me smile. I live in Ft. Lauderdale and have for my whole life.. I have eaten at La Bamba for the past 25 years and I absolutely love it. I prob eat there or take out from there once a week.
  3. Yes, This can absolutely be changed onboard and you can pick any days and times that are available as long as you didn't buy the First night done right package or the BOGO 2 night then those require the first night but all the other packages you can change it for how you want it. I suggest you go right away when you get onboard to make all your dining reservations so you get the days and times you want.
  4. Auto ,Problem is Indy doesn't do 4-5 nighters in the summer. It moves back to Europe during the summer. 4-5 nighters in the summer is so hard to find. You will be limited to 4 nights on Marner, 4 Nights on Navigator, or sometimes Adventure does a 6 night Canada out of NJ.. I know Anthem won't be here but you can't go wrong with Mariner or Navigator both will have awesome upgrades.
  5. it has also always been $29 on Harmony
  6. I have found that $18 was always the "sale price" when you were looking it must of been on sale and you just didn't realize or it was Royal's lovely IT issues. The real price was always $26 so good thing you booked for $18 because its not going to get lower than $18. Infact it is supposed to be going up for 2019 so you really got a good deal.
  7. Tony you and I are on exactly the same page! I love playing blackjack and Roulette as long as possible. I love meeting fellow table mates who end up becoming my gambling partners and friends all week and yes getting the free alcohol is also fun. I either travel with my boyfriend who does not mind that I enjoy gambling as long as I have dinner with him, see shows with him, and spend little quality time with him lol. We have no children so I don't have to worry about that. If I am not traveling with him I am traveling with my best friend and fellow gambler so again no problem there with being able to gamble lol. I agree with you people who don't live in Florida and deal with the heat just don't get how we feel but thats why I don't criticize others cruising habits and thats one of the things I love about cruising the variety and that there is something for everyone. I also don't enjoy the smoke and went on a celebrity cruise last year which was great because they don't have smoking in their casino's but It was a short cruise and I didn't have the opportunity to gain enough points to get a free or discounted cruise. What I wish is Celebrity could look at my play with Royal and offer me a deal and that way I would have a chance to go on a 7 night cruise on celebrity and gain some status but every time I ask they say no thats not our policy. Anyway I'm always happy to chat with a fellow gambler and I bet one of these days we will end up on the same sailing since we live so close and I'm sure club Royale is always sending you offers too. I'm going on the Signature cruise this Sunday on Oasis so I'm excited the casino will have a lot of fellow gamblers to play with!
  8. Michael not to discredit your opinion but isn't that the point of a cruise? Everyone gets to do whatever they want. I live in Ft. Lauderdale and I don't want to bake in the sun on my vacation. I do that all day everyday.. What I can't do is play blackjack in a casino. Do you know why because in my state of Florida the only place blackjack is legal is in Indian run Casinos like Hard Rock. Well I refuse to play there because in my opinion it is rigged and never once have I won there. However, on the ship I have won thousands of dollars. I have also lost but I love the fact that I also walk away every time with a free cruise.. Infact this year alone I have 8 free cruises from my play in the casino and its fun for me. I absolutely love sitting in there for 8 hours a day playing cards. Do I still do other things of course. I see all the shows and go to all the restaurants but I don't sit out at the pool because thats boring for me and I can do that at home. So I think its all about perspective and what you like to do. Also I am diamond plus with 290 points and I have been on 48 Royal cruises so all the shows and activities are quite repetitive and sine I cruise like 8 times a year what I like doing is sitting and playing cards. This is why I love Royal everyone can do whatever they want and meet up for dinner to talk about their day. So im glad you enjoy other activities on the ship and Happy Cruising!
  9. You can order a cake I think for about $20-$25 and they will come sing happy anniversary. Also you can order room decorations I think for $40-$50 which can be found online in the gifts and gear section. Other than that I don't think they do anything for you.
  10. Hello, I know the answers to All of these... 1. There is No Caribbean Stub Poker on Anthem 2. There is no European Roulette for sailings done in the United States they all have double zero for ships that leave out of United States... One exception I saw was in the high limit area but I never saw it open up 3. Black Jack is payed 3:2 if you play at a $15 Min table.. If you play less than $15 table then it is 6:5... Also Single deck pays 6:5 always 4. They do not Allow Surrender on Any Ship that is a company policy 5. Some are hand shuffled some have the constant Machine.. The Hand Shuffled games are 8 decks 6. The Dealer Must hit soft 17 7. Drinks are only free when you reach the new tier level Prime.. Which means you need to accumulate 2,500 points in gambling.. This can be done with slot play or table play.. Hope this helps you if you have any more casino questions feel free to ask. Basically all their rules benefit the house and not the gambler unfortunatley but I love blackjack so I still play and play for hours.
  11. Hello, There is a Child rate as long as your child will eat off the standard Children's menu which is usually Chicken Fingers, Hot dogs, Macaroni and Cheese, hamburger. If your Child wants to eat from the regular chops menu then there is no discount. Also dessert is absolutely included with chops lunch and it is delicious.
  12. You can ask the pit bosses in the casino and see what they say. It Never hurts to ask.
  13. Hello, yes for Slots you get 1 point for every $5 wagered. If you plan on spending less than $500 in the casino don't worry too much about points.. You might be able to get 400-800 points if your lucky which then if you do you would get a certificate for either $100-$200 off another cruise.. The casino system now favors big gamblers not really the casual person who wants to spend $100 for entertainment.
  14. I have heard once again on the Presidents day thing its which agent you talk to. Seems to always be how it is lol. But I am glad they gave it to you over presidents day. Also I am Signature at the Casino discount is still shitty. It now just goes by your play on the last cruise and not your tier level, but like you said in the past it was so much better and combinable with other things.
  15. Hello, The Annual Prime cruise needs to be 8 nights or shorter so a 9 night won't work. Also it can't be done during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, or fourth of July.. Any other time and 8 nights or less and your good.
  16. What an awesome story. Those Club Royale agents are not easy as we know. I feel like I have talked to at least 30 different people and every time I have got 30 different answers. Plus B2B on Anthem sounds like Heaven. I really love that ship I hope you have a fabulous time. Cant wait to hear your opinion when you return.
  17. Eric, with the new rules as long as you accumulate 2500 points throughout the year (April 1- Mar 31) Then you get to keep your prime status. So if one cruise you earn 600 and another you earn 1900 your good to go. I go on a variety of cruises because I live in Ft. Lauderdale I take about 8-10 cruises a year but a lot of them are 3 nighters. I would say about 4-5 are 3 nighters. Then about 2-3 are 4-5 nighters and 2-3 7 nighters. On the 3 nighters its impossible for me when betting about $25 a hand to earn 2500 points in three days lol. On a 3 night cruise I probably earn around 1000 points. Its the 7 night cruises where you need to make up your points. On those I try to earn 4000 points so I can get the free balcony cruises plus I'm Signature so I have to try to get up to 25,000 points which I'm not sure if I will be keeping again for this year but we will see I do have 6 cruises coming up before the end of the rating period. Also I think you ended up with a win. Like you said you played 35 hours on a free trip and didn't lose any money to me this is a big WIN. Glad you had fun.
  18. I think the problem was not his play time it was his average bet.. depending on how the cruise is going for me my bet can range from $15 a hand to $100 a hand.. and I play from 5-8 hours a day on a sea day and at least 4 hours a day on port days. I was told on my last cruise in July that yes they care how many hours you play but they more care about Average bet per hand.. I find if they don't rate me at at least $25 a hand I don't get a lot of points. So I make sure especially when I am doing well and betting $50 or $100 a hand that I have the pit boss come over and change my average bet in the computer. I then after that session check my points with the host to confirm I was accurately rated.. I know betting $15 a hand for 4-5 hours a day feels like a lot and trust me I get it but to them its just not a high enough bet.
  19. Hello, I go on Many Oasis class ships and always buy a dining package. Here is what you need to do. As soon as you get on the ship go right away to the restaurants you want to eat at and pick your schedule for the week. I always do this and never have a problem getting 6:00 or 6:30 but don't wait do it right away when you get on.. Also no Hibachi is not included in any dining plans.
  20. Yeah that luggage thing is just so annoying I totally feel you. The most annoying part is clearly whether your in a suite or an inside room they still just don't take the proper care with the luggage. Sorry you have to go through that.. I didn't realize that about the status match. I earlier this year just did the status match so I better make sure take a cruise with them in the next few years.. Back in June I called MSC's casino department to see if they could look into my play at Royal and see If I could get a discount. They said they would be happy to look into it and all I need to do is provide them with a Win/Loss statement from Royal. So I think of perfect that sounds easy. Well I call good old Club Royale and I have been trying to get a Win/Loss statement from them Since June 20! It is the most frustrating process. They say it should take 3-5 weeks well clearly I'm going on almost 3 Months!! And when you call Club Royale to follow up they give the old nothing they can do line. So I'm quite frustrated. And its not like told them I need the statement for another cruise line I said I needed it for tax purposes. So thats why I was curious if you found another way to get a discount.
  21. Raye, This happened to me TWICE. The first time was on Allure and I was in an Aqua Theater Suite.. Basically my bag never made it off the ship and they had to wait a week for the ship to comeback and they found my bag and shipped it to me.. Then a year later this happened to me on Anthem. So basically after both those times I have no confidence in them delivering me my bags lol. I now carry them off my self which is difficult but I just can't risk them losing the bags. Glad you got free cruises from the Casino though.. Thats always fun.. I meant to ask you I noticed you are going to try MSC. Did you happen to get a comped cruise on that sailing? I would like to try MSC but I wanted to see if I could get a discount thru their casino. Let me know how you did it and again I hope they find your bag so frustrating when this happens.
  22. Yup I totally get it. Hey I'm glad you had a much better experience than I did. I think I am just a big ship person. I think I have to go on Voyager class and higher to be happy. I need choices. I need different restaurants, I need ice skating shows, I need bigger casinos. So for me I guess its just Voyager class and up but I respect that some people love a small ship experience
  23. I don't mean for this to sound rude so please don't take it this way I really am curious. What did you like about Empress? I went on there for FREE in a junior suite that I got from the casino. I absolutely hated it. First I find that the air conditioning in the boat is awful. I am from Ft Lauderdale so I am used to heat but I don't want to be hot inside the ship. 2nd I found the food to be the absolute WORST out of all my Royal Caribbean cruises and I have been on 52 Royal Caribbean cruises. My friend and I joked that that we literally only ate enough on that ship just to get by because we found it so bad. Not just in MDR found the Windjammer quality to just be terrible. Also I spend a lot of time in the casino and maybe you don't but the actual A/C in the Casino is so bad they have to have huge fans blowing and the poor dealers are sweating so bad because they can't cool off. Now to be fair I took this cruise right after its dry dock before it went to Cuba. it was doing 4/5 Western Caribbean sailings and thats where I went.. Maybe it has improved since then but even if the Casino gave me the biggest suite they have I wouldn't go on it again. So Again I am not trying to be rude or put you down I truly am looking for someone's perspective on what they like about this ship..
  24. I have been cruising with Royal Caribbean since 2005. Back then the food in the MDR was great. Now I find the food in the MDR not very good at all. I always get the Ultimate Dining package and love it. I find the food in the specialty restaurants the only way to go. Now of course there are many people who will disagree with me but I am a foodie. Food is very important to me so I don't mind spending the extra money to have what I consider delicious food.
  25. Matt I was just on Harmony last week.. I was able to use my ultimate dining package at Chops on the first day. This is the third time I have been able to do this on an Oasis class ship
