"However....I still love having the shoe organizer and I will continue to use it". A shoe organizer, seriously? I usually cruise with a pair of sandals and one pair of "dress" shoes for formal nights. Don't need much of a shoe organizer for that. Of course, I do take a ration of you know what from she-who-mus- be- obeyed about my footwear.

As Matt said "The boarding times on Royal Caribbean are more of a suggestion than a requirement. Feel free to show up anytime.". Just know that your stateroom/rooms probably will not be ready for occupation until after 1-2 pm. Pack a backpack, or two, with swim suits, flip flops and sunscreen so you can hit the pool/pools and let the kids burn off some built up energy. You and the wife can enjoy a cold drink at the pool bar also just to calm your nerves down after a flight like that! Have a GREAT time :) .

Mono is correct. But, there is also another reason those are out while in port that heralds back to the days of  the pirates......sort of.  They are for the parents of very unruly children on board. They can show the child the little walkway and tell them that's were the Captain makes misbehaving children walk the plank!  Aharr matey!

Amen to that! DO NOT wait until the last day or day before dealing with the guest services desk, unless you like waiting in a long line. And if you do, well, you must work for the DMV ( :D ). I strongly recommend using the tv in your room to "review your portfolio" on a daily basis later in the day/evening. If anything is questionable visit the guest services desk, just not the last or next to the last day.

rjac got a reaction from Mushroom in pool towels
On cruise days, the pool towels are available on the pool decks. On port days they are available on the exit deck. I have been on some ships where they scan your sea pass cards when you get them an scan when you return them. I have also been on some RC ships where the towels are available with no scanning of your sea pass card. The pool towels used to be logoed, but not so much anymore. They are big, in pretty good shape and blue in color. You can get as many as you want also. Pool attendants will remove them at the end of the day, like around 5:00 pm-ish.

We booked on board once and was able to get an aft cabin which overlooked the butt end of the ship with panoramic views of the ports we left as well as the open ocean and the ships wake. That was the biggest incentive for us. Haven't been that lucky since.

You will get a Cruise Compass delivered to your cabin every night. It details all of the next days activities hourly from morning to late night. Check tht out and you will be bale to avoid the "noisy" activities. JL is spot on about the two bottles of vino, I have done this on previous cruises. Have fun and ENJOY!

Not too silly. A lot of folks do just that. Grab a couple of beach towels and snore to their hearts content, especially after an evening of trying every drink the bars have to offer! Congrats to you son on his Eagle Scout achievement. If he decides to sleep under the stars, please caution him from carving is initials in the deck floor or hand rails, the staff frowns on that kind off stuff. Have fun on your cruise!
