When did you call and check for upgrades? Was is before or after final payment? Just read @Matt's pre group cruise blog and he was able to upgrade as well. Just curious, when is the best time to check?

Quantum class ships had Dynamic Dining when they first came out, but some, or all, have since dropped it due to many customers complaining about it. You might be running into something having to do with those changes. I hope someone who's been on Ovation recently will chime in and give you solid answers.

We've had all kinds. Some are strictly RC, some have a mix of whatever ships are in port, and some have random/non-cruising vacationers.

We have Oasis booked for 2019, and I asked the TA to not book anything higher than deck 12, to make sure we avoid any deck noise. We ended up on 8, not quite on a hump.

So far Jose is heading towards Puerto Rico, then towards Bermuda. But, as you said...there's really no telling.

Let us know the changes/differences between Quantum and Anthem, please ?

I totally had to look up murphy bed. I agree, if they could engineer it to make it work. Some of the rooms have "bunk beds" that might be considered a murphy of sorts.

Maybe they'll have a hammock option someday as a bedding/sleeping option, like in some movies. Maybe for the studio rooms it would take up less space. Would any of you try it? I don't think I would.

It might be a family balcony cabin (or whatever the official name is) which are bigger, but not considered suites. Maybe it's one of those multi-bedroom balcony cabins.

All this talk of going through customs quickly isn't for me. I like to complain about certain things, security in airports is one (though I do understand why it's so tight), so I don't mind standing in line forever, or being questioned for hours, it gives me something to complain about ?

I have Oasis booked for 2019, so plenty of time to save up. In this case I'm doing the opposite of DocLC, taking the $300 OBC instead of price cuts that may save me $300 or $400 on the overall fare.

I'd say get rid of YouTube ? We did a dolphin "swim" in The Keys, when I was a kid, and loved it. Hopefully you can find the info you need to make a good decision, it'll be a fun experience for her.

I for one can tolerate cigars, and pipes, much more than cigarettes. Cigars seem to have "flavor", whereas cigarettes just seem stale.

I've had my RC card for almost a year now and got it for the extra OBC since we'll now be cruising with a child (every little bit helps). I pay for all my RC stuff with the card. Yes, if you make payments towards the cruise(s) it will get you double points, from any of the 3 brands/lines. So if your cruise is $5000, you'd get 10,000 points. Also, connect it to your seapass account onboard and any purchases not made with OBC will get you double points. Hopefully that made sense. I looked into the Celebrity card, but I don't spend enough to justify the annual fee. The perks are a little better with the Celebrity card if I remember correctly. Dig up and read all the fine print.

My mom is from Cincinnati, and every time I've been up there (more times than I can count) they tried to get me to eat goetta...just couldn't do it, lol. Mom loves it. I can put down some Skyline though.
