  1. totally agree with Matt - depends on what you do! if you don't have a drink package you can spend on drinks, ship store and shore tours seem to be the biggest item for me - I tend to spend about $300 on 7 night sailings cause I don't get the drink packages, just fyi.
  2. Sorry - Hilton Miami Downtown 1601 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, Florida, 33132, USA
  3. if you want to see the new future of crazy cruise ships go watch the video of the new Celebrity EDGE coming in 2018. Now that is going to be a ship.
  4. pamw -this is the biggest reason I tell older clients to get cruise insurance Yes the PASSENGAR pays for the helicopter, and if they are not insured, and/or do not have the credit on hand, they will not send a helicopter out - this does happen. And yes it costs between $35,000 - $50,000 depending on where you are for the flights.
  5. yep- airline term - and these can be really good cruises that start and end somewhere different I agree DocLC
  6. Hmm Just listened to a podcast from Norwegian and they are sailing here also and it will be all inclusive on the Sky (drinks included) and they over night in Cuba...now that is tempting. Will wait for the next time they roll out sailings and see how these first one's go...
  7. Yep will forward information about the programs and the room when I'm sailing next week.
  8. Hi Going to try a Boardwalk balcony on the Oasis of the Seas, Nov 27th to see about the Eat/Play/Dine amenities they are offering and see if the all work well and are easy. Just wandering since these begin on Nov 5th if anyone else has a Central Park Balcony or Boardwalk balcony if they can post reviews before I get on - other wise I will. Agent at Royal told me for the Johnny Rocket's meal etc I will be given onboard credit on my account, rather than a coupon or voucher - HMM
  9. look under the Beverage package area too - I thought I saw dining package pop up there recently If not call the cruise planner help line and they can do it for you on the phone, same discount cost 800 - 762-0585
  10. Majesty of the Seas is departing Port Canaveral now on Saturday Oct 8th - since the port is closed I figured you have this information but just in case someone else does not OBC is being give to guests based on the cost of that one day cruise fare they are missing. This will be done on the ship Future Cruise credit of 33% also will be given to guests. Look for a letter in your cabin onboard Actually I have now seen two ships cancel and one ship the Disney Magic do a complete itinerary change Just hoping Port Canaveral does not have too much damage to it or too big of waves for the ships to return Saturday
  11. super cool having another ship in Bayonne - and love the freedom as a choice
  12. that is so cool - had not noticed that either = thanks for posting it
  13. Oh Paul Gauguin and Tahiti are some of my favorites bcarney!!!
  14. such a great topic - thanks for all of you that chimed in about your agents in general - We love that we do not charge fees in our office - and are glad many of you all use agents !
  15. $800 seems like a lot to me for a "room" I would rather spend $800 on something else like shore tours etc. How much are you in your room? Think about that.... just my thoughts
  16. the Bar Code is the Key - that is all they need to scan you in and your Passport/ Photo ID - I've shown up to a Pier with nothing but my ID to test their system, and while I had to stand and fill out more papers there I got on the ship with my ID and RES # in hand And may people are getting a 1/2 page version lately which is OK, your name and then they scan that bar code - This is what we've become a bar code! ugh
  17. MTD schedule usually comes out 90 days out but could be earlier Definitely keep calling but most important is call right after final payment is due Those people that don't pay final, their dining time goes back into inventory If you booked with a TA, they have access to a Dining line person as well! sometimes that helps too! good luck - But again like Matt said you can go to the dining person once on the ship and ask about moving your dining time if needed
  18. totally agree with Doc - St Petersburg is not to be missed - hope it worked out
  19. thank you so much for posting this review eaglesfan - so glad you all had fun - and that you loved the staff on the Grandeur It makes such a big difference on any trip if you have great service and I totally agree that I wish they would sail the 7 nights to Bermuda but the 5 and 9 night concept just seems to work for them lately
  20. Have a great cruise - and like Monorail Medic replied that is the place for numbers There should be something also in your E-Docs that lists information !
  21. Welcome to the Blog! Most times the ships like Oasis and Allure or Harmony that are sharing ports One leaves on Sundays and the other on Saturdays out of FLL so those are your best bets for definite Sat sailings if you want bigger ships. Happy to help you ! and LOVE DCL but Royal pricing sure has made me cruise a lot more of their ships the past 5 years
  22. Sigh - while I love most all things RCCL I have been running into the same problem as of late for one client- I have called in for 6 weeks as his agent and was told 4 times it processed and was done only to get a call back 2 days later saying they had not processed it. the agent even read notes that the card was refunded - but no And YES they always pay back in increments based on how you paid too, that is common The rule of thumb is we usually see money returned within 7-10 days This honestly has a lot to do with banks too and credit/debit cards While it works most times, have your agent call at least weekly With this above client - I had to be VERY persistent and work hard to get correct answers - part of my job and actually I love to do this stuff, lol
  23. great information and input not only for the Suites but also about Grand Cayman And SO very sorry your Casino God's did not work in your favor!
  24. I love Uber and not only use it all the time in the US but I used it quite a bit in Europe this Spring and it worked great I like Lyft a little more in the US now too. Agree with everyone - I post my trip after I get back usually or several days after I'm doing something
  25. FloatMe - private message me - your credit card should show Royal Caribbean for payments
