  1. I had the ultimate dining package on Oasis last December. All signature restaurants are amazing, so it's really up to you as to what restaurant you think you would like the best. Look at the menus online and see what interests you. When it comes to WoW bands, they went on sale on the first day. I thought it was well worth it. Never had to take my card out except when leaving the ship. For drinks, or food, I just took the band off and handed it to the server. No problems.
  2. As for how soon after you're infected a test works, it depends on the test. The swab test checks the actual presence of the virus' RNA in your system, and would show a positive test fairly quickly (less than an hour for most people). The antibody test, which shows that your body has produced antibodies against the virus would show up a bit later, depending on how healthy your immune system is.
  3. Rapid testing, even if far more effective than it is now, would not result in anyone getting your DNA. It's providing either a drop of blood or swab which is immediately tested for antibodies then discarded. The solvents added to the test would not make the sample viable for saving for even a few hours, as they are made to degrade cells in order to better test. Sorry, molecular genetics and molecular immunology degree coming out. If you really think a government could or would save old samples for some form of DNA database, not only is that factually impossible, it's downright at conspiracy theory level.
  4. I went on Ontario March break in 2018 with my teenage daughters. Turns out it's the same week as spring break for Universities in Georgia, which I'd say around 80% of the ship was full of. If you want specialty dining, it wasn't an issue, as they were pretty empty. I leaned into it and had a blast.
  5. If Chops is open for lunch, why wouldn't I eat there?
  6. How does this work? Do I have to go to whatever specialty dining is open for lunch, and schedule my other meals through them? Do i have to physically go to each restaurant and schedule that way? Please help. I'm on Oasis of the Seas this Sunday.
  7. My daughters have started collecting Starbucks mugs. I'll pick one up for them in Miami, but I'm wondering if there's a RCCL specific mug on Oasis of the Seas? I assume there's none in Labadee, but perhaps Cozumel or Falmouth?
  8. Well, considering I'm coming from Toronto, Canada to Miami for my December cruise, I think I can pack my shorts any time now.
  9. I just my edocs for my Dec 15th cruise, and at least I know I'm on the 10th deck.
  10. The great thing about vodka and coke is no one will steal your drink.
  11. With the old package you could do lunch at a specialty restaurant on embarkation day, but they weren't all open, at least on our last cruise on the Mariner in March. We ate at Jamie's.
  12. Twelve days with the unlimited dining package and unlimited drink package? That would get rid of all the wrinkles in my clothes. My advice is stretchy pants, and lots of them.
  13. I was just going by my experience last cruise. Most nights the specialty restaurants were half empty, some even moreso. From my thinking at least, dinners will now be a specialty restaurant AND Playmakers, not Playmakers OR specialty restaurant.
  14. I'm guessing the ultimate dinging package wasn't selling well, so they upped their game.
  15. Just got off the phone with Royal. In the phone rep's notes, it specifically stated that Playmakers and Johnny Rockets were included. So you can have wings as a "second dinner". ?
  16. My first attempt using my new 360 camera. Feel free to share and enjoy. Deck 12 Room 1864
  17. Can you take food off the ship? I was thinking of grabbing a sandwich or two just before going to Atlantis, so i don't have to sell off one of my twin girls to pay for lunch.
  18. Just because it didn't catch fire doesn't mean it's ok to use.
  19. While logically I know this, it's disappointing. Cancelling our first cruise on Navigator because they chartered the ship 6 months out and giving next to no reimbursement was 100% on Royal. This just added to the frustration. I've made the best of it and booked Comfort Suites at Nassau to get the Atlantis day pass. That makes up for the loss of our cabana day at Coco Cay I hope.
