  1. Thank You --- and yes, it was a great feeling ..... usually, when I call in, it may be a price drop of just a few dollars..... When I called on Sunday, my jaw just about dropped when I heard the dollar amount ..... Then, I shared with others on my roll call, and I know of another person who was able to save $140 on the same cruise.
  2. I just repriced my 2018 Bermuda Cruise that I booked when the itineraries came out --- Just saved $190 --- So, in my case, this was a good thing ...
  3. That's sort of funny ..... My wife's name has a sort of unusual spelling, therefore, an unusual pronunciation.. It's spelled Tyna (pronounced Tie-Na) ---- NOT Tee-Na Those that get it right always get preferential treatment from us.
  4. That's very nice ..... looks like we're going to go with it ...... Quick question though .... do I make the reservations in advance or when I get on board? We're looking to take advantage of it Nights 1, 4 & 5. This is all new to me --- but the cost savings seems to make it a "no-brainer"
  5. Tyna came up with an interesting question I'm hoping one of you can answer .... We got our customary email from RCI yesterday promoting the dining package for our 5-nighter in September ..... With Grandeur only having 3 specialty restaurants (Chops, Izumi & Giovanni's) --- obviously the 3 meal package would be the one we would choose.... The question she had was ...... If you don't want a particular restaurant at all, can you repeat one of the others so you can still have 3? She absolutely does NOT want Giovanni's, but we would be more than happy to do Chops twice and Izumi once ..... can we get away with this with the Dining Package? If so...... SOLD!!! Thanks, Mark
  6. I would assume .... probably both ways ..... They can make the change for you on your particular reservation, or, as you check in, ask the attendant to change your card to a different one for your card only ..... I can't imagine there would be any issues.
  7. I would agree ...... What ship are you on? I know on Granduer, the ship was just divided into 4 sections (forward/aft port/starboard) --- We were midship yet just forward of the central elevators so our tags had us listed as being forward -- there were no issues -- got the luggage real close to when the cabins opened at 1:00.
  8. I guess it's a matter of your skill and comfort level ..... I have no issues here locally with being on a scooter, but for some reason, the "driving on the left side" really plays with my brain ......
  9. Exactly ..... there is a Bermuda currency, however, with a 1:1 exchange rate, it's irrelevant ... We spent with US Dollars and received change in US Dollars no matter where we were. In fact, I had to ask for a $2 Bill in Bermuda Currency just to see what it looked like. Oh, and personally, I would never, ever rent a moped, the roads are narrow and a little crazy..... I've heard too many stories of people coming back to the cruise ship in wheel chairs and on crutches (saw that happen when we there in September ..... I'm happy with the Pink buses and the Water Ferries. Mark
  10. Download the Bermuda tourism app on your phone ..... We'll be going there for the second time this September and that app has been invaluable when it comes to knowing what's going on while we're there.
  11. Cheese & Bacon on Fries -- BOOM!!!!
  12. My wife likes the Soap Opera --- The Bold & The Beautiful ..... My first thought went to the rival fashion designers at Spectra Designs
  13. I would do the switch .... Mariner is Voyager Class and that seems to be the sweet spot for many that would like a healthy choice of venues to take advantage of while not be overwhelmed by being on a floating city.....
  14. Quantum --- in my opinion ... Personally, I think the next Oasis Class ship should be something along the lines of Melody of the Seas (to go with Symphony & Harmony)
  15. We put gravy on fries here too..... it is AWESOME!!!!!
  16. Old Bay is a mixture of spices .... First created in Baltimore. It's most notably used in/on steamed Blue Crabs, Crab Cakes .... all the things a good Baltimore native should be masters at creating and consuming .... As time progressed, we, Maryland natives especially, discovered its many other uses on different foods.... I think the most common that's not seafood related is fried chicken, chicken wings, etc. In fact, the local Buffalo Wild Wings used a standard menu when they first opened until they discovered it was a Must Have for the local population (like myself)... Personally, I love it on everything. Macaroni & Cheese, Corn on the Cob, anything potato related - There's also a company just over the line in Pennsylvania, Herr Foods, that is the authorized user of Old Bay to put it on Potato Chips, Popcorn, Cheese Curls and a few other items (the Old Bay Popcorn is crazy good) ..... It also goes well in a Bloody Mary. There's a local brewery that has created Old Bay Beer ..... I guess the only I haven't tried it on is Cheerios --- not quite there yet. It used to be only sold regionally (I can recall sending cases of it to relatives in Florida & California..... but since McCormick bought them out, it's pretty much sold everywhere..... I'll even hear it mentioned on the Food Network . Hope this helps, Mark
  17. I think it's perfect ..... Oh, and congratulations on your lifestyle change ...... I don't know if I would have the willpower to do what you have done, so for that, I tip my hat. And you're right ..... you shouldn't have to explain yourself just because you didn't lick your plate clean .... that's inappropriate in any situation. Mark
  18. Why yes, yes I do ..... It is amazing on Mac & Cheese ..... last night we had potatoes on the grill, and yep, you guessed it, amazing on those too. Also, put Old Bay on Corn on the Cob .....
  19. I like the Lava Flow --- then the "Blue" drink, then the "Green" drink, then the "Orange" drink ..... and so on, and so on ...... I'm on vacation, they all taste good ..... However, in the morning, it's all about Bloody Marylands
  20. Looks like I'm going to have to bring Old Bay .... Nothing beats Old Bay wings
  21. Last Meal: Escargot --- and lot's of them .... First Meal: I believe I made myself a Bacon Cheeseburger in the Windjammer on Sovereign back in '07
  22. I can speak for Grandeur (and probably most, if not all, Vision Class ships) --- The Park Cafe is located in the solarium and has tables/chairs to enjoy your meals.
  23. Classic ..... I truly believe I dance like him late at night up in the VCL. Oh, and don't forget, "Vote For Pedro"
  24. Beer Pong Battle Shots (same game as battle ship only using shots of whatever instead of ships)
