Joe, You have over 5,000 friends praying for you to have a speedy recovery -- and to have a stress free countdown to the cruise. You are like me in the sense, come hell or high water, the cruise is NOT in jeopardy..... But the stress and worry you could do without ..... Take a deep breath, breath slowly ..... We are with you in spirit brother ..... Mark -
I couldn't agree more ..... this site, and the people within it (along with Matt's blog), made our first cruise back in '16 so much easier and less stressful. By the time we boarded, I felt like a seasoned cruiser. I "Tip My Hat" to all of you. As for there being a "First Time Cruiser Seminar" --- Love it ..... It doesn't need to be that long or that complicated ..... just the basics --- perhaps with testimonials and ideas from other cruisers....... Heck, they could even invite seasoned cruisers on each cruise to participate and share their stories (and reward them with a little OBC for their time).

Let me put it this way ...... It's a good thing they had plenty of Coors Light and Bloody Mary Mix on hand. Now, did the alcohol enhance the drowsiness? I don't know ........ But she muscled through it like a Champ -- the upside is, she slept extremely well in spite of Hurricane Jose.
-
When we were on Grandeur going around Hurricane Jose..... my wife bought everything out there "just in case" ---- She ended up really loving the patch..... the only down side was that it made her drowsy...... but like a champ, she muscled through so she could have fun in the VCL at night.

The ONLY song I will ever Karaoke is B-52's Rock Lobster ---- w/ my wife & sister bringing in the back-up

The outbreak of sicknesses on several RC ships

Considering that we're going through "FLU-MAGEDAN" here on land -- This doesn't surprise me in the least. As previous posters have said, wash hands and it never hurts to carry a small bottle of Germ-X. -
Grandeur OTS Also for sale! Attention Matt!
coneyraven replied to Henry Ho's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Plus Grandeur has had special "Smokestack Emission" modifications (and still going through them) in order to meet requirements for the Chesapeake Bay. That, in itself, makes it uniquely qualified for regular sailings in the Chesapeake.......- 8 replies

Grandeur of the Seas-January 2, 2018
coneyraven replied to firegal2539's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Wow ---- That's all I can say is "Wow" ---- I hear GREAT things about Tornado Tanya though ...... but this guy needs to go and promote his book elsewhere...... And you're right, this has NOTHING to do with age. -
281 - Grandeur (again) 458 - Brilliance .... Ugh ...... I need something sooner ..... a friend mentioned the Adventure re-positioning from SJ to NYC ...... hmmmmm

Grandeur of the Seas-January 2, 2018

I wouldn't say you were complaining ..... you were basically telling facts and sharing observations (like the passengers yelling at guest services) ... Charleston had snow.... Florida had cold temps, it's like the entire cruise was cursed .... Can you chalk it up to "Sh*t happens?" --- Sure --- but my one take-away from this was controllable ..... Where was the cruise director? When we were on her back in September, we had to deal with going over, then under Hurricane Jose..... to say it was "interesting" would be an understatement, but that didn't affect the Cruise Director (Paul Rutter) and the Activities Director, Tino (who transferred to Serenade after our cruise) from being out there and visible...... They never lost their desire to show everyone a good time ..... Who is the current CD now? I'd be curious if this was a one-time issue or if it's a trend. For all we know, he/she could've been sick..... Who knows. But as for your report, I don't see it as a complaint at all ..... and those that know me know that I love Lady G and will come to her defense every time. But this one seemed to be 8-balled from the moment you left Baltimore. Mark -
Casino on Embarkation Day - Baltimore
coneyraven replied to SPS's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It used to open around 6:00 on Day 1 --- but, from what I've read, since the state of Virginia doesn't allow casino gambling, they put the stop to that ...... As was said by a previous poster, it now opens up the morning of Day 2. -
No, I haven't tried it, but if it includes bacon I'll def. put it on my bucket list.

At what time is password for VOOM assigned during check in?
coneyraven replied to Hop's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
That's exactly how it was with Grandeur in Baltimore ...... received my password and log-in instructions with my seapass card. -
The Park Cafe had them on Grandeur ...... at least there, they're complimentary. The only downside was that they weren't Buffalo Wings ..... so there was no "kick" to them. Adding a little salt made all the difference for me.

I've been on Grandeur twice with a third one booked ..... same cabin for all three..... No, I'm not tired of it in the least ...... it's very comfortable being so familiar with where things are ...... When we board, we do a bee-line for the R-Bar for customary first drinks, then it's "Game-On" ----
-
Me too ..... When I looked down upon the Carnival Imagination from up on Navigator years ago .... I thought, "Really??? That's It? Where's the "Imagination"?
-
Because we like to get there early ...... We go for our standard "Breakfast Drink" Those that know me know exactly where I'm going with this ...... A "Bloody Maryland" --- although, on the last cruise, idiot me packed my Old Bay in my checked baggage. Mark
