  1. We stayed aft portside last January and I wasn't super happy with it (mostly how crowded it was around the food areas and the elevators, whether I was using them or not), so in November I opted for another balcony forward portside and I loved it. It's so less crowded, and I have no issues with walking the promenade to get to the restaurants, CP, or Boardwalk. So when I booked for next April, I again went with "front right", but one of the first rooms from the stairs/elevator on deck six (which should be interesting as I have always stayed on the higher levels. I also LOVE the Solarium, so being up front is much more convenient for me.
  2. Since we're booked on Harmony for next April, I'm super excited (more than usual) for your posts! Have a smurfy cruise!
  3. 8 pages and you haven't even boarded yet....that has to be some kind of record!! Have a wonderful trip and looking forward to your SweetSuite posts!
  4. I just went to check for my 5/26/20 sailing and unsurprisingly it won't allow me to do anything. The sites not down or anything....maybe I'm too far out to plan. ?
  5. I agree with all of these ^ posts. It all starts with Matt, who probably doesn't see nearly as much of his kids as he deserves, since he spends so much time either here or doing 'Scopes or FB broadcasts. You can tell that he's just a truly genuine guy who loves to cruise and wants to make it as enjoyable for others. Then there are the posters. I'd venture to say that 98% are super nice and cool people. Of course we occasionally have differing opinions, but, as grown adults should, we either work it out or end up agreeing to disagree. I love the folks that I've "met" on here. I only wish I could manage to make a Group Cruise (mostly so I can see if Twansgter is actually real). Once I figure out what I'm going to do with this 800 million that I just won, I'm gonna learn how to be a Suite Snob. It's the little goals that keep us inspired!
  6. Didn't I just see something reporting that they entire dock area in Nassau was going to be re-designed and changed at what I'm sure is a huge amount of money? If they can't so something about the crime and uneasiness, then they're wasting money (and I know that ain't happnin').
  7. Well, I didn't know that before I booked... Not a game-changer, but disappointing. I assumed that it being an Oasis class, that the pool in the solarium was a given.
  8. We did it in Nov, but frankly I probably wouldn't do it again. I think we paid $150. I love that it's kind of secluded and peaceful, and the first room with the mist and eucalyptus was very enjoyable, but IMO the other two room are just way too hot for me (esp door# 3, aka the door to Hades). I liked the heated lounge chairs and being able to shower. One thing I never figured out - I know nothing about spas, so didn't know if I had to go sans clothing and just use the towel, or wear a swimming costume! The first time I went au naturale, but was afraid and then switched! don't judge me! ?
  9. You could also go to your ship's FB page and see if there is an event for your specific cruise. It may prove a little helpful ahead of time.
  10. After going 3 months with nothing on the books, I just had to do it; I needed that apple before the horse!!! April 26, 2020 on Harmony!
  11. My first-ever cruise was in '15 on Freedom to the Eastern Caribbean, and I was so totally blown away by the entire experience that almost as soon as I got home, I booked the exact same itinerary for the same time in 2016. We took Oasis last January, and loved her so much I did the same thing but didn't want to wait a year so it was in November. So, yeah, I love taking the same ship more than once. It was the crew members on Oasis that made me want to go again.
  12. Oh, that's heartbreaking. It's impossible for me to imagine the sadness that the family is going through right now.
  13. I hate when people bogart the trivia games. I swear, every time we play onboard, the Rain Man comes out of nowhere and wins every time. Whining aside - impressive, indeed.
  14. Thank you, Sabrina - as has been stated, it's been an absolute joy following along with you. Already looking forward to your next!
  15. Fabulous answers - thank you all Looking forward to more!
  16. That would be fantastic, save for a couple issues - since we live on the coast in SC, October is prime hurricane season and I'm scared to death about leaving my home in the hands of my son (who is capable, just never had to be the responsible adult around the house), and also I'm so looking to do one earlier than that, say in early 2020. Heck, if it were up to me, we'd be on the next sailing I could get a cabin for, but I also have to be responsible and get a lot of big $ things done to the house. Being a grown-up is pretty much the suck.
  17. If it were up to me, I'd go to the Caribbean every single time, but my wife wants a change of pace, so... We're in Charleston, so it'll be a plane trip to whichever port we choose - NJ or BMore. Which is better as far as airport to hotel to terminal? If anyone has flown from Charleston/Myrtle/Savannah, how are the prices? I've never flown to a terminal destination - always driven down to Port Canaveral. Thanks for any replies; I'll hang up and listen...
  18. Still awesome! Does Playmakers offer only the two available espn Caribbean channels or is more like a real sports bar? I love the Fish and Ships idea, but agree that there shouldn't be an extra charge, or at the most the prices should be about half those.
  19. I think Royal really needs to address this ^ issue. When we went in Nov on Oasis, even with reservations it looked like this. Nowhere to sit, and with a bad back, I wasn't too happy. I have loved eating in the MDR for all of my past cruises, but that wait made me change and we only ate there twice, opting for the Winzhammere three times, and I'm not the biggest WJ fan. First formal night was in the Solarium, which was pedestrian at best (we were all dressed up and yet there were a lot of people in there in shorts) and pretty unimpressive.
