  1. Usually you check your bags outside in front of the terminal before checkin. It shouldn’t be problem
  2. While I'm not superfans of them, I have watched quite a few of their videos. The ones I've seen they've always been quite friendly to Royal. Also David seems to be extremely laid back in their videos, he gives off a vibe his stress level is like -10 and just goes with the flow. With him saying the food is off I would take it the same category as Matt posting that the food is off, that something was definitely wrong. Seeing Pattycruise also experienced it, definitely something going on.
  3. That Chicken Parm didn't look appetizing. No excuse for food being cold seeing the scaled back the menu
  4. We've never done specialty dining yet (outside of Johnny Rockets). Gonna try it for a few places on our upcoming Wonder cruise. Even if we like it, would probably never get the unlimited dining package, we kind of like the MDR
  5. Not being near any cruise ports we like to disembark as early as possible to get on the road. The wife and I are thinking about getting a vacation place in Florida in the future, in that case might change our mind
  6. We had that happen on our last cruise. Even though the email we got said a hour delay it was a little longer (closer to an hour and a half). Only difference between us and those in suites/key is they had a sectioned off area with chairs to sit during the wait. It kind of sucks as your in a holding pattern until the inspection finishes, to make it even worse is it pushes everything back I the ship (ie instead of your room being ready at 1 pm it ends up being 2:30 pm)
  7. It could be they never attended, but it could also be due to Royals amazing tech department. I've been burned by it on the muster twice First time was pre covid and the bar code on my seapass card was only half printed out, so they couldn't scan it during muster. Was told to go down to guest relations after the muster to get a new card. At guest relations when printing the new card they said they'd give me the checky mark for going to the muster. Next day message on the phone and TV that I hadn't done it, another trip to guest relations, another promise they put the checky mark there. Still didn't fix it. Last their scanners weren't able to read some of the set sail bard codes (both paper and phone), so they were writing down those peoples names and cabin on a sheet of paper (they had about 2 pages of names by the time we went through). Learning my lesson from the first time as soon as we got the pass card I went down again and got them to scan that
  8. I think our first cruise on Royal I did via the website, after that we went with our TA. We have a few reason: - While we know which cruise we want to go on,we tell him and he calls us back when it's all booked. He knows what we like and he does all grunt work on phone. The time saved on our side is worth it. - There are perks with his company giving OBC, free specialty dining, etc. - He seems to have access to codes that the general public don't. A few examples, in one case RCL was advertising the 30% discount, but in his system there was another code, he tried that one and it turned it into 50% discount, ended up saving us like $1,000. Last cruise he tried a bunch a things and got us $500 OBC
  9. I only recall one cruise where I found the bed uncomfortable, most of the time I find then very comfortable
  10. Well it wasn't for a lack of trying, just bad luck, hopefully 3rd times a charm First they had the tenders, as we got down to take them a storm was rolling in and they were getting those one the island off as quick as they could to get out of there. It was interesting watching a tropical storm roll in. Other time was summer 2020. My kids (although they aren't really kids anymore) are getting excited, been since 2018 for them
  11. I had to switch rooms before. Guest services just transfers everything over to the new room and prints you new sea pass cards. It's a 2 minute process
  12. My oldest son is on oxygen and we've had him on cruises. For our experience we've done it a few different ways. Follow the link provided by mk-utra to let the cruise line know. First time on Royal we brought a portable concentrator (on wheels), one cylinder off the back of his wheelchair and 3 D cylinder tanks in a carry-on roller suitcase (suprisingly they fit perfectly in the suitcase). He had a nebulizer as well which he carried on his lap. This wasn't the most comfortable boarding as I had to carry all that around until the room was ready. Unfortunately my youngest son was too young to really help out. Once onboard we just kind of found a chair on the deck and sat there until our room was ready. The cruises after that we've ordered oxygen to the ship (companies like special needs at sea). What they do is deliver the oxygen directly to your room (it's already in the room when your arrive) and pick it up after you leave. What I remember it's like $70 for the first tank and $10 for each additional one, you can also rent concentrators (although we haven't done that). We still bring a portable concentrator with us. For us it makes for a much more manageable and relaxing first day
  13. My wife wants to be a contestant and keeps bringing it up every cruise. I keep saying no way. Too many questions I'd have to answer with a lie, otherwise I'd be sleeping on the balcony
  14. Last cruise I did notice a lack of supplies in the bars and shops (i.e. no Crown Royal) no sure if it was just or just supply issues. In the end it didn't diminish my experience. The cruise experience is always changing and I just go with the flow. As I see right now RCL had 8.5 Billion in debt a the end of 2019 and are sitting around 21.3 Billion at the end of 2022. Carnival in the time went from 9 Billion to 32 Billion. They're all in the same boat. The tourist industry got smacked hard and I look at it being in pure survival mode right now. Add in the high inflation for the past year. No way they can offer what they did pre pandemic at that cost. Right now I want them to do what is required to allow their long term survival.
  15. A journey of a thousands miles begins with the first step. As long as Royal enforces it I'm happy. If people have to scan their seapass cards to get their belonging back it'll become pretty obvious in a hurry who the offenders are.
  16. We stayed at the Hilton in Condado. Plenty of taxi's to the cruise port and the easiest most relaxing embarkation I've ever had. Only regret is we flew in 1 day before which didn't give us time to really explore, will do 2 days early next time
  17. Better question is how does your fiancée want you to dress? If they're going all out, follow their lead
  18. With the price of drinks on the ships, not sure I can afford to drink enough to get a hangover. Back in my younger days my go to was Gatorade
  19. Tough question, they all have pros and cons. Really depends on what I'm trying to get out of on that particular cruise From a pure entertainment/things to do, I'd go with the Oasis class. Will be my go to if my kids come. As well the company that makes the diving platforms/hydraulics is 2km from my house. The con on this being at times it can be congested and have a limited number of port. On the flip side if it's just me and the wife I like the smaller ones as they have a much more ports, more relaxed I guess my least favourite would be the Anthem, didn't really like the layout
  20. Been a while since I booked shows, but I vaguely remember getting a confirmation number and email confirmation for each show I booked. In the end I always screen cap everything for these types of situations
  21. Used to like going to the buffet, then over the lockdown started watching Tony and Don (Don't touch my food) and they kind of turned me off it. I did take Tony's tip and bring hand sanitizer with us now
  22. Early and neutral. I don't think I'll miss twice a day, I'm really not in my room long enough after the first cleaning for a 2nd one to be necessary
