  1. Hmm, op doesn't have a lot of posts, but their first post back in may 2021 claimed they already did 35 cruises. Also said they had one booked for Oct 2021, but above says this Feb was their 35th cruise. Complaining about the food from a cruise 4 months ago, then saying they're going to Carnival
  2. As DoomSlayer said you have 3 countries involved. I know our government has been messing around with Mexico and visas recently. You might want to check out to see what is also required to enter Canada https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada.html https://travel.gc.ca/assistance/questions First link sounds like a passport and US green card might not require one, however if the names don't match you might need something else. Third link provides a phone number
  3. How many RCL ships were at the pier? I could see if they have 3 or 4 and they were all from the RCL might be easier to do it at the port (would probably take less crew members)
  4. Well, if I was in charge I'd have to think like CEO, would be trying to look at win/wins I remember a time where they multiple levels of drinks packages (beer/wine, spirits, everything). Not sure why they went away from that. While I can drink enough to recoup the cost of the current package, my liver doesn't want me to do that . This causes me to pay as I go and for the most part I really don't drink much on the cruise. Maybe has some in the middle type thing (i.e. 10 drink card). Fix the website. On page 1 I can look at prices for inside, outside, balcony and suite. If I filter for balcony, having page 5 asking me again is somewhat annoying. Enforce rules that they have, whether it's chairhogs, dining attire, etc Have some type of all in fare option.
  5. Every cruise I've ever been on has been different in one way or other, things offered on one might not be offered on others. First Royal cruise I was one had a buffet type setup beside the pool one night at 10pm, haven't seen it since, but it's not something that would let ruin my cruise. Menus have changed a few times, some WJ's are better than others. The handful of changes they've made recently don't bother me and honestly probably won't affect most people in a super negative way. Unless I get asked to go down to the engine room to get on bike to help propel the ship I'm not going to be too upset.
  6. We started on DCL. When docked in first port in Nassau we were beside this behemoth of a ship call Oasis of the Seas and my first impression what Hot D@#n I need to cruise on that bad boy some day. How we got to Royal is we wanted to do a Bermuda cruise of out New York area. At the time it was NCL or RCL. I didn't like the NCL pricing at the time and Bayonne seemed to be a far easier location to get to. Since then we've done Royal, but I wouldn't say I'm loyal. We are are looking at other cruise lines to experience something different in terms of ships and itinerary. Having said that I haven't completed my bucket list on RCL yet, still need to get that Royal Loft Suite
  7. For my wife, she is a tea drinker, but is somewhat picky. She always brings a bunch of teabags from home in a sandwich baggy. Usually I say she packs for too much, but in case I let it slide so I don’t have to listen to her complain
  8. I kind of see both sides. It does seem like the typical one and done we see a lot of. This has however brought out some information on what happens when Royal does a charter (thanks to Twangster and Bazza). RCL really seems to tell you to go pound salt, I would have expected a more sweeter offer. After seeing that I would probably post the same thing
  9. To hedge my bets, if we're taking more than one suitcase I divide it so we each have clothes in each suitcase in case one gets lost. If they all get lost, well it wasn't meant to be
  10. Seeing what gets offered if the cruise ship gets chartered, I'd honestly be quite PO'd at Royal.
  11. Outside of a world shutdown, I've never had a cruise cancelled. If anybody has experienced it, what does Royal offer?
  12. Myself I'd do it before to prevent prevent any surprises
  13. Sure why not. My wife and kids use forks whenever they had sushi. I don't see the crew caring Me on the other hand I had more pressure to learn. I worked on the border of Chinatown in Toronto and then worked up in Markham. Some of those restaurants really didn't have forks.
  14. This thread has pique my interest. As we haven't departed from outside of North America yet, we are starting to look and Australia is definitely one destination we're exploring. For this tipping included vs separate, is this based on the departure country of the cruise or based on the location of where your booking from?
  15. That’s one reason I never book a gty. To confirm I just tried gty and it specifically states it could be obstructed, twice Room preference page Just prior to cruising, we’ll assign you a room in your selected category. The room may have an obstructed view. If you need connecting rooms, please select your room instead. Passenger page You selected a Guaranteed Stateroom Your room is guaranteed at a minimum to be in the category you selected and will be assigned just prior to sailing. The exact stateroom, number, and location on the ship will be at our discretion. Staterooms may have an obstructed view.
  16. We had something similar happen on our last cruise. The invoice said 5pm, got on the ship and seapass card said 5:30pm. We just knew we had early dining slot. Show up at 5:25 and we're like the only people in the MDR. Poor Maitre D out front was having a nervous breakdown because they and the kitchen staff were still going on the 5pm time.
  17. I've always found the Oasis class to be a little one the warmer side
  18. According to the form Guest Special Needs | Royal Caribbean Cruises Wheelchairs and Scooters must fit through the stateroom door and be stored and charged in the guest staterooms.Standard stateroom doors are minimum 23 inches wide, accessible stateroom doors are 32 inches wide. If it is less than 23 inches wide you should be good. You should probably fill out the form above as well
  19. My understanding is the cruise lines send the manifest to the countries your visiting a few weeks in advance (so they can do their screening). Possible a foreign port flagged it and informed Royal
  20. Reminds me of my honeymoon 25 years ago in Jamaica. Went to a cigar shop when a cruise ship was in. Conversation was along the lines of salesman: I have these great Cuban cigars. $250 a box, you can’t get these in your country me: yes I can salesman: oh, your Canadian me: yes and I have a direct flight home salesman: $50 a box
  21. For those have had a bad experience is it it just the quality of the food or with a combination bad/slow wait staff? What ship did you experience it? Trying to see if this is a handful of ships or fleet wide or if it's even just one or two particular sailings. My wife is seeing a lot of comments about this on her FB. Many comments seem to point to the new menu, but from what I can tell most of the stuff that is on the new menu was already being served before, just less options per night.I figure that would allow them to improve quality control and food temp more easily. Even with new items a chef should be able to pick them up pretty quick. Wondering if they're having a staffing shortage in the back of house
  22. Usually you check your bags outside in front of the terminal before checkin. It shouldn’t be problem
  23. While I'm not superfans of them, I have watched quite a few of their videos. The ones I've seen they've always been quite friendly to Royal. Also David seems to be extremely laid back in their videos, he gives off a vibe his stress level is like -10 and just goes with the flow. With him saying the food is off I would take it the same category as Matt posting that the food is off, that something was definitely wrong. Seeing Pattycruise also experienced it, definitely something going on.
  24. That Chicken Parm didn't look appetizing. No excuse for food being cold seeing the scaled back the menu
  25. We've never done specialty dining yet (outside of Johnny Rockets). Gonna try it for a few places on our upcoming Wonder cruise. Even if we like it, would probably never get the unlimited dining package, we kind of like the MDR
