  1. Been let off early,on time and late wouldn't count on any precise time. Last cruise we were doing carry off, was suppose to start at 6:45, since we had a person in a wheelchair, to avoid elevator congestion we went down at 6:10. As we were getting off the elevators the crew members said "Ok we cleared" and started disembarking, was in my car by around 6:20
  2. I’m not, but my youngest son seems to have picked it up. Not sure where in the house he put them though lol .
  3. Kind of like it. Options on the last 2 cruises have been pretty limited at the time. Something that can provide more options and I’d expect minimal waste
  4. We've went many times during hurricane season. Last time we went in Oct/Nov, we had no issue getting chairs at all, could almost sit where ever you want. For the most part the weather was fine. We did miss a port due to a hurricane (Grand Cayman) so we ended up staying in Labadee 2 days. They know well in advance and will adjust accordingly. Unless there is something you really want to do, kind of a once in a lifetime thing I found it pretty easy to adjust. Heck took us on our 3d try to actually get to PDCC
  5. I'm still in my working phase, but will probably start transitioning over to at least partial retirement in 2025/26 (when we're 55), so my answer is more because of that. Right now we only do about 1 cruise a year, but in 2025 we plan on upping that. Part of the big cost for us is travel to the port. We've started to look at B2B's. Also looking at Europe and Australia. So maybe get to around 4-6 cruises a year. Not sure what that'll translate into
  6. Will definitely give it a look. I'm in the Hamilton area, about a 3 hr drive to DTW. With Pearson one problem around here is traffic is bad from 6am to 8pm, especially the 401. One accident and it might take me 3+ hrs just to get to Pearson. That's one of the reasons we tend to go out of Buffalo, other is it's usually around $500 a person cheaper. Also like having to go through customs in the comfort of my car rather than standing in line for an hour. We want to do some west coast cruises, but the connecting flights out of Buffalo tend not to go through Chicago or Detroit, most seem to be through Boston or NY.
  7. Out of curiosity how is flying out of Detroit? I'm midpoint between Toronto and Buffalo, but have thought about going out of DTW. We tend to go out of Buffalo, but they're all connecting flights. Don't want to go out of Toronto as it's a nightmare (have to drive by it to get to my office and travelled business out of it)
  8. Airlines I go with whatever is convenient at the time (even when I travelled for work could never really accumulate enough point for anything worthwhile). Hotels they all seems to be owned by one of three companies and we usually stick to one company, also as an added bonus I can book personal travel through my companies travel tool and get the corporate rate (usually a discounted rate and perks)
  9. Haven't had any issues with the food (will note I've never eaten in the Windjammer for dinner). Last cruise only disappointment from the MDR was the chicken parm. In the WJ we usually do lunch, but I always get a salad and sandwich (really can't mess that up)
  10. I’ve had FCC a few times and they always been very upfront about the expiration date
  11. Things that have been mentioned 1) A lot of walking and taking the stairs. Until I started wearing a step counter I didn't realize how much I actually walked on the cruise 2) I try to be disciplined at breakfast and lunch, allowing me to indulge at dinner. Not as hard as I originally thought, much easier than at home. It's pretty easy to grab a salad for lunch
  12. Haven’t seen it with a junior suite, but have seen it a few times on a balcony
  13. Usually the people from NL are very friendly and laid back. Surprised they didn't give them a few extra minutes. Were these guests late getting back on the bus at the other stops? Looks like the museum is only 4km from the port, they could have left at 3:15 and still made boarding time
  14. Yep, have a sibling that wears it one. Connects to an app of their phone and sends an alarm to the phone if certain thresholds are crossed
  15. Never had an issue bringing on meds in a pill sorter, we've just taken copies of the prescription/pictures of the label of bottle just in case we're asked (although never have been)
  16. I was on one last year. They decorated and had a costume party in Studio B. That was about it.
  17. Seeing they were dropped about a year ago, I wouldn't expect them to be reinstated
  18. Noticed it the other day seems to have come with a recent app update. Interestingly not showing up on my wife’s phone
  19. They're asking these insane prices because people are booking. However have to wonder if people are booking just to get a spot and are hoping for a prices drop to reprice or are they legitimately going to pay this price. They haven't hit any of the final payment dates yet, wondering when that comes around RCL will see a mass cancellation of people
  20. Out of the 3 Oasis class I've been on, I enjoyed the Allure the most
  21. We had them open on our last cruise. Kind of useless to be honest, it only opens the 2 balconies by maybe 1/3.
  22. 18 days ago (third attempt was the charm)
  23. For chairs they have both armed and non armed chairs. Might depend on where they seat you (but I'm sure they can move the chairs around). Last cruise at my table one chair had arms, 3 didn't
  24. Yep, came across it on my cruise last Nov, then forget what I did and was swearing when I tried to check in for my August one. Now I have sticky note on the board beside my desk to remind me . Funny thing is Royal can't even get a consistent error. I have an IPhone and my one kid has a Samsung. I'd got an error on the IPhone that check in isn't available yet, try again later. Try on his phone and I got you missed check in as it has already closed, try at the port
  25. We just got off a cruise out of Port Canaveral and was thinking the same thing. As OCSC Mike mentions it looks like it’s free. Might have to do a b2b2b2b next time
