  1. Had to deal with a few hurricanes. Twice they just sailed around them. One was to hit the port on departure day, for that one Royal sent out text messages to get to the port early as they indented to depart a few hours early. We were out well in time to miss it
  2. Talking to them, most things they see end up being server config issues (but they affect all users). The message your getting is not something I would expect. If it was an authentication thing you'd get a incorrect user or password message. Seeing both FF and Chrome fail I can't see it being a browser issue (they tend to be the go to ones, Microsoft browser on the other hand up until recently tended to be a Colossal pain in the A$$). Does it just stay on the login page with that message below it? Any other info (some error code number) Suggestion we came up with 1) Some companies detect your logging in from a different computer and require a 2 step validation when they see a new machine logging into an account, but I don't know if Royal does that. Logging in on your other machine, check your your profile that you have a security question set and your cell phone (in the event it's trying to do that) 2) Temporally shutting off your firewall/antivirus and give it shot. Your probably running windows defender 3) Look at the internet security settings in windows. Assuming your using windows 11. Go to Control Panel --> Network and internet -- Internet Options. That'll bring up a dialog (or you can type internet option in the start menu) Go to the security tab, you'll see Internet, Local internet, Trusted sites and Restricted sites When your on the Internet - you should probably have medium-high Click on the restricted sites icon and the site button below it, check to see if royal is in there (mine are always empty) Click on the trusted sites icon and the site button below it. Try adding https://www.royalcaribbean.com/* If your really motivated, open the browser to the royal login page. Hit F12, that'll open the developer tools for the browser. There will be a tab called called network, a little lower you'll see All | Fetch/XHR. Select All and then try logging in. This will monitor the calls to the server and the response. Overall it won't mean much to you, but if you run your working machine and your non working machine side by side you can look where they differ, which might give you a different status code or some additional info. There is a call with the name authorize?response_type...... that one and the few after might be of interest
  3. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen defects in our support system that are similar to what you’re experiencing. I can poke some the client side developers to see if they might have some suggestions
  4. Have you tried different browsers on this new laptop? I do write software for a living, but it's been a while side I did client side stuff. Usually with strange behaviour we'd always recommend clearing the history/cache/cookies first. It could be something with the security settings you have set on the browser or a firewall/antivirus issue (misconfigured rule). If you have an AV/firewall setup you can temporally turn it off to see if the solves it.
  5. Yes, If we did get the internet, I might jump if it was couple bucks more a day
  6. I've never booked a dining package, but just tried for our 2024 cruise. Royal does mention it on the page where your reserve, they don't hide it. Important details and advisements .... A courtesy reservation will be made for Day 1 or 2 of your sailing. All additional reservations or changes to your courtesy reservation must be made once onboard at any specialty restaurant.
  7. For us unless we could get it for ridiculously cheap, would never get it. We don't get the internet package so there is no real benefit
  8. Last cruise, one day 2 coupons for a free massage showed up in our room. Don't know why and didn't use them. Figured they'd do their hard sell on overpriced products and couldn't be bothered. Also remember on our 2018 cruise they were doing free neck massages outside the spa.
  9. Never tried it, but if your in the main area or on a ship excursion I would assume it's safe (otherwise they'd be out of business pretty quick). I wouldn't eat at someplace off the beaten path
  10. Been on the Explorer but it was a long time ago. In terms of on board stuff to do, it will be less, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. There is enough to keep everybody entertained. While you have less specialty dining, smaller/less shows, things like getting into the MJ is far easier. If your more interested in the ports then definitely go with Explorer. It's probably cost less as well
  11. Desert - all Appetizer I’d go with French onion soup. Entree I’m pretty open. Desert would be grand mariner soufflé or the warm cookie with ice cream
  12. Only bar I remember showing sports was the schooner bar, then your fighting with the piano player. The did show the world series on the screen by the pool
  13. So I should swing by Publix on the way to my next cruise to pick up a few sticks of butter, might end up being the most popular guy in the MDR
  14. Was on the Adventure last fall. I wouldn't say it was in great shape, but it fine. Last time we did Voyager class was like 2014 or something and have been doing mostly Oasis class so it was a little bit of an adjustment. One thing I'd caution is for the ice rink, when they were doing non skating shows and put the floor down it was causing the ice under it to melt and seep through the joints, so the floor was extremely slipperly (really surprised they didn't cancel the events). One thing I noticed was Johnny Rockets was always empty and the service was extremely slow.
  15. Drink waiter in the MDR bringing around shooters at the end of dinner
  16. Our first cruise was DCL, the service was great and the kids enjoyed themselves. I found it was too much Disney and there is no escape from it on ship. Our 2nd family cruise we compared Freedom to one of the DCL ship, both 7 days. Same ports on the same days and each went to their private island. Freedom came in around 1/3 of the price. I'm not Disney fanatic, so Freedom it was. The prices just isn't worth it, the service/food/entertainment from our opinion isn't that much better to justify the cost.
  17. Don't know why Royal doesn't change their checking to bulk checkin. When we did the e-muster your allowed to select all members of the reservation who are with you watching it. Why not have on checkin to have the option to apply the boarding time to all people on the reservation, I'd imagine 99% of the time they'd all be boarding together anyways
  18. From the posts below (ok, I guess above) you mention it's visa thing, if you want some additional confirmation (to make you feel at ease) there is government website to find if you need a visa https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp Ran a few scenarios, depending on the country of the passport you'll get this question below. Seems that via cruise ship has less restrictions How do you plan to travel to Canada? By air, via a Canadian airportBy car, train, bus or boat (including cruise ship)
  19. I wouldn't take Royal's word on it. In the end it's the Canadian Immigration who decide and Royal does not send the info on the passengers onboard until a few weeks before sailing. There was another thread about 3 weeks ago somebody got an email about a week before their cruise denying them boarding for issues. Best to call immigration and get it worked out now.
  20. Keep hearing about these amazing wings, going to have to order RS to give them try.
  21. Haven't been on the Odyssey, but have been on the Anthem. For us we prefer the Oasis class. We didn't like the Esplanade. The shows at Two70 were hit and miss. Didn't realize cafeTwo70 even existed until we just happened to walk down to Two270 one day around lunch. In fairness to Anthem, we did go on it like 2 months after it came out, so a lot of bugs to work out
  22. If the shows are fully booked, still show up as there is standby line. There will be people who reserve but don't show.
  23. We've never gotten any reminder emails for last payment, then again when we put a reminder in our calendars and book an appointment with our TA to pay it in full 3 weeks it's due (just in case). You mention your wife called RC and found the reservation was cancelled. What prompted her to call? Not sure what email she uses, but hotmail is notorious for putting stuff in the spam folder
  24. Read the thread and it motivated my to replenish my humidor. We're in St. Maarten this summer and will have to pick up some DAS
