  1. Never heard of leaving a day early, but when we went on the Oasis we did leave a few hours earlier to beat an oncoming storm. It was a while ago but they sent us either a text or email the day before asking us to get to the port early as they were leaving at the latest 2pm (earlier if everybody was onboard)
  2. We did the mason jar for brunch today as well, definitely liked the cinnamon roll. Didn’t like the 10 laps of a track afterward to burn it off.
  3. Surprised 20% answered they’d pay for that pizza
  4. This is some pretty crappy news to hear. If somebody flushed a diaper, ban them and charge their CC for the damage
  5. Read this a few times and have a few take aways. The port workers don't work for Royal, but are contract. Is it that Royal has zero say with the port workers or is it just poor communication? If Royal is willing to answers to the customer what is allowed/disallowed then they really need to be in sync with the port workers. I get in the above case the expired id a federal rule that royal can't overrule, but there have been other examples of the port workers doing stuff that is completely stupid. Especially with those with special needs and you've filled out the forms. You'd think they'd want to work together. Looking at the dates, there was only a few weeks between the phone call and the departure. Even if Royal provided the correct info, it's well after final payment and wouldn't have been a refund. At best maybe move the reservation to a different date, but others that close in have had no luck with that. Don't remember the questions on the post cruise survey, but maybe they should have a port section (maybe some contracts don't get renews if too many bad reviews come in)
  6. I don't particularly like their pizza to begin with (haven't been able top drink enough to change my mine). LOL at question How would Sorrento's pizza being.... has the option More likely to cruise Royal Caribbean really? Pretty sure nobody will answer that.
  7. We just ordered some. Didn’t show in gifts through the cruise planner, but did a google search for royal Caribbean gifts and they show up there, jsut had to provide your reservation number https://www.royalcaribbean.com/royalgifts/wine-liquor?cat=52
  8. My wife packs like she's going on a 6 year mission to Mars, we didn't have an issues on the Explorer
  9. Last cruise the table beside us in the MDR had that delivered to their table every night.
  10. For a minute there I thought I was crazy that I read it already in the past
  11. Never thought about the flight costs. Just checked some random flights from for Toronto and Buffalo and they are all significantly cheaper going over than coming back.
  12. Never done one, but am looking at something different. Prices are definitely attractive. Last cruise I was talking about it with somebody who had spent like 30 years in the navy and he was mentioning to go east to west
  13. For those that have done a crossing, is there any preference in going west to east vs east to west? I've heard it's easy to adjust going east to west
  14. Good bump, We're on the Wonder in a few weeks and was trying to find this info
  15. I do just in case I get separated from it. Is it possible, well it happened on of first Royal cruise with the kids. Our oldest has health issues, so he can't carry anything on and my wife is taking care of him. We had 3 carry on's (med, oxygen, etc). I could carry two but let my youngest who might have been 10 at the time carry the third. Told him it was his responsibly. Anyhow going into the buffet he cleans his hands at the Purell machine and walks in, leaving the what I asked him to look after there. My fault, I didn't check on him. As we're finishing lunch I can't find the bag. Fortunately it was still sitting there at the Purell when we walked out. Many lessons learned at that moment. one being attaching a luggage tag to the carry ons
  16. Carnival does concern me with that debt. Not that I'm Carnival, but if they go under, their passengers going to other cruise line would really create a supply issue
  17. Never been on Princess, but that Princess plus would probably be something I'd jump on if Royal had an equivalent
  18. Seems to be an article trying to make an issue out of something that isn't. Kind of clickbait on BI. Sure they could include them in the cost of the original price, but then when the price of the cruise doubles, BI will write an article on how cruising is only for the well off. There are ample complimentary dining and entertainment options available on the ship to where you would never have to spend another dime once on board. To say they're "adopting the strategy of budget airlines" is laughable.
  19. Forgot they were reporting this morning. Checked the stock and almost fell out of my chair, then remembered they were reporting.
  20. I can see it for colder climates, it makes sense. Not sure how many kids you'd find on those cruises
  21. I have a buddy who has done this type of cruise a few times. He says it a weird feeling as it's snowing when you leave, but next morning after breakfast you can go in shorts on the deck
  22. Haven’t tried the new menus yet, but will in a month. Looking at them each night there are 2-3 things I’d like from each category, which is consistent to before. Gut feel is I’ll probably be happy with them
