  1. We did the Hamilton Shopping and Sightseeing or something very similar on our first cruise there. They take you around some of the islands in the sound and point out some of the homes. I don't recall there being a tour of Hamilton, but I do remember the shopping. Also had a few rum swizzle cocktails on the boat, so that could be why I don't remember the tour. We have used the ferry as well to go to Hamilton and St George (actually liked walking around St George a little more than Hamilton)
  2. Ok, so I need a home test that doesn’t need to be supervised? How will they know it’s me that did the test. Or that I took it within 3 days before? why even test at all then?
  3. If you were try to book room 8233 with just two people, what prices does it give you (guessing more the gty room). I know when we've been poking around the booking system looking compare to see if we should get 1 (4 people in) or break it over 2 rooms they have cabins that are rated of 2, 3 or 4 passengers. It makes an apples to apples comparison somewhat difficult.
  4. We cruised many times around then and never had an issue that couldn't be worked out. It is a cheaper time to sail so it's definitely worth any risk. One time a tropical storm was moving in on the day at Coca Cay. They just called everybody back in and moved elsewhere. The only one that really concerned me was on our Oasis cruise in 2015. The national hurricane center was tracking tropical storm Erika. It was suppose to hit Fort Lauderdale as hurricane the night our cruise was leaving leaving. The managed to get everybody on board well ahead of time and we left early (kind of remember getting an email asking us to get to the port as early as possible). Also they closed the parking lot beside the terminal and everybody had to park in parking garage on level 3 or above (had shuttles to back tot he terminal). They are organized and have everything planned out and under control.
  5. We've done all 3, but prefer the middle or aft. Did the front of our first cruise and it was rough waters the first night and we were getting bounced around pretty good. IT would probably be fine on cruises where they had calmer waters
  6. My fault, I re read the website and it's say premium and used star as an example. I'm assuming these top ones on the other ships are pretty equivalent to the star class
  7. I'd guessing deck 6 has a lot of obstructed views do to the life boats, could be why a lot of balcony rooms are available
  8. I live near the border, the businesses over here will take US currency. Some have a dual prices, one Canadian currency one US currency. Assuming Vancouver is the same. There are some banks and currency exchanges across the street from the cruise port.
  9. Just tried it, I really like it, will be my go to first search tool. Strange when I search star class some ships come up that I didn't think had the concept of star (i.e. Grandeur Of The Seas). Guessing it's including the top suite on them as star
  10. First off, congrats. Tough call. You’d have more choice of specialty dining on Harmony (seeing your getting a speciality dining package) that would be the a big one if either of you like particular types of food.
  11. We cruised it pre covid. The two things that I really remember is that the windjammer was never busy. At most it would be 60% full. The other was we didn't particularly like the shows. There was a band one night that id Billy Joel covers which were good, but in the other shows it was like the performers were screeching into the microphones. Not sure if it was the performers or the one running the controls
  12. I would call again, can't hurt. We have a travel agent setting up our next cruise. I'll pass along what he's telling us. Essentially you can get a completely different answer day by day and hour by hour, depending on who your talking to.
  13. I don't begrudge suite passengers for their perks they receive over the C&A, simply in the end their paying far more. As all have said this is kind of how it works in every place.
  14. I kind of remember (or at least I think I do) they had a bucket of beer you could buy at a discount from buying them individually (like 5 or 6 bottles in the bucket). Not sure if they still have it. If you only plan on drinking on certain days (i.e. sea days) that might be an option to lower the cost
  15. I guess part of this would come down to what does your friend think and would they be willing to eat the cost for not cancelling? If they have trip cancellation insurance I'd assume they could recoup their portion (unless there are some loopholes)
  16. This has definitely piqued my interest. Haven't been on a cruise greater than 7 nights yet, but going on a 14 night Adventure repositing in the fall. If I find that I can handle the that one, might book this one while on board. Wife doesn't particularly like the Radiance class, might have to sweeten that deal if suites are avaliable
  17. Last time we went to Jamaica we just stayed in the market. Did an earlier trip to a resort and went to Rose Hall, pretty relaxing. One thing leaving the port is the roads weren’t the greatest, might end up white nuckling the armrests
  18. We got a flight change from Air2Sea Thursday as well that went to our TA. It was for our return flight in Nov. our TA found out the change was on the connecting flight. Layover in Chicago went from 2 hours down to 25 minutes. Got him to book a different route, no way I trust everything working out with that short of layover
  19. The adventure is going out of Newark NJ. More then likely the security not knowing the rules. We have one in our travel party requiring oxygen. Have paperwork from royal to bring a portable concentrator. Going out of Newark the security has given us issue with the power cord. When I ask them how do they think it’ll get charged they see the error i their ways , lol
  20. Was thinking the same thing. Also if you came down with Covid, would they contact the lab who did the test before they cover loses. Probably best to get a coworker to do it
  21. Never had it as take out for the total group but have on a few occasion brought back meals for members of our party who couldn’t go to dinner (I.e. feeing I’ll). As some mention you have to go to your table and speak to your waiter
  22. We stayed at the Condado Plaza Hilton on our cruise out of there. Pretty nice hotel from what I remember. Unfortunately our flight was delayed and we got in late so it already dark. Was only a 5 minute taxi ride to the cruise port.
