Been asked a few times. One time I joked to the waiter “So you wanted me to give you an 8, right?” I though he was going to have a nervous breakdown right there. I heard a few times that sub 10’s can cause them not to be renewed at the end of their contract. In the end I’ve always had great service and never had any complaints (maybe I’m lucky)

As many echo above we use a TA for the service. We use one in town and have used them all our adult life. They know what we like and dislike. Any issue comes up they are quick to handle it. Even something with booking flights, ours will give us guidance/info and not just blindly book them. i.e. for connecting flights they have had info that one airport is doing construction in the terminal so it might be more beneficial to connect through a different airport. I figure for the amount I'm spending, a few extra bucks OBC or dining isn't worth it if the agent isn't there when I need them

Been a few years since the I cruise out our PR. What I remember there weren’t many customs officers at the terminal when you got off (maybe 3 or 4) and it’s about a 20 minute drive to the airport. I would think you’d need to have the stars align with ideal conditions. I wouldn’t risk it

Alaska Cruises Requiring a Canada Port of Call...
tjcruisers replied to WAYNO's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
What error are you getting? Are you going through the phone app or via the website? Maybe try saving the images in a pdf. Most provinces we download the cert as a pdf (no actual vac card). -
I've only filled it out coming back home at land crossings. Looking at your post, I looked at what they do for the cruise. That's insane. All you should need to provide is the cruise ship and date of sailing. In the end the explanation for the app was to link the proof of vaccine to the passport so they when scan it it pops up. Having to create a "trip" is overkill

I think we went on the same one (it was around 4 hrs). The more I think about it there might have been an optional walking tour. We opted just to do the shopping. If I had to do it again would opt in for the walking tour, 2 hours for shopping is way to too much

As @ChessE4mentioned there are threads which will have more info, here's one Somewhere in there I believe they mention it depends on the type of birth certificate (needs to raised marking or something). Also note the danger of not using a passport should something occur.

Being a resident of the Great White North and seeing what's going on, I wouldn't hold my breath

We did the Hamilton Shopping and Sightseeing or something very similar on our first cruise there. They take you around some of the islands in the sound and point out some of the homes. I don't recall there being a tour of Hamilton, but I do remember the shopping. Also had a few rum swizzle cocktails on the boat, so that could be why I don't remember the tour. We have used the ferry as well to go to Hamilton and St George (actually liked walking around St George a little more than Hamilton)

If you were try to book room 8233 with just two people, what prices does it give you (guessing more the gty room). I know when we've been poking around the booking system looking compare to see if we should get 1 (4 people in) or break it over 2 rooms they have cabins that are rated of 2, 3 or 4 passengers. It makes an apples to apples comparison somewhat difficult.

We cruised many times around then and never had an issue that couldn't be worked out. It is a cheaper time to sail so it's definitely worth any risk. One time a tropical storm was moving in on the day at Coca Cay. They just called everybody back in and moved elsewhere. The only one that really concerned me was on our Oasis cruise in 2015. The national hurricane center was tracking tropical storm Erika. It was suppose to hit Fort Lauderdale as hurricane the night our cruise was leaving leaving. The managed to get everybody on board well ahead of time and we left early (kind of remember getting an email asking us to get to the port as early as possible). Also they closed the parking lot beside the terminal and everybody had to park in parking garage on level 3 or above (had shuttles to back tot he terminal). They are organized and have everything planned out and under control.

We've done all 3, but prefer the middle or aft. Did the front of our first cruise and it was rough waters the first night and we were getting bounced around pretty good. IT would probably be fine on cruises where they had calmer waters

How bad is it staying on Deck 6 at Freedom of the Seas
tjcruisers replied to jaedam0820's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I'd guessing deck 6 has a lot of obstructed views do to the life boats, could be why a lot of balcony rooms are available -
I live near the border, the businesses over here will take US currency. Some have a dual prices, one Canadian currency one US currency. Assuming Vancouver is the same. There are some banks and currency exchanges across the street from the cruise port.

Honeymoon Cruise: Harmony vs. Adventure
tjcruisers replied to Kat_Ehn_23's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
First off, congrats. Tough call. You’d have more choice of specialty dining on Harmony (seeing your getting a speciality dining package) that would be the a big one if either of you like particular types of food. -
Jewel of the Seas Review?
tjcruisers replied to She Sails Away's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We cruised it pre covid. The two things that I really remember is that the windjammer was never busy. At most it would be 60% full. The other was we didn't particularly like the shows. There was a band one night that id Billy Joel covers which were good, but in the other shows it was like the performers were screeching into the microphones. Not sure if it was the performers or the one running the controls -
casino royale cruise promotions
tjcruisers replied to Bob Burd's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I would call again, can't hurt. We have a travel agent setting up our next cruise. I'll pass along what he's telling us. Essentially you can get a completely different answer day by day and hour by hour, depending on who your talking to. -
I don't begrudge suite passengers for their perks they receive over the C&A, simply in the end their paying far more. As all have said this is kind of how it works in every place.

I kind of remember (or at least I think I do) they had a bucket of beer you could buy at a discount from buying them individually (like 5 or 6 bottles in the bucket). Not sure if they still have it. If you only plan on drinking on certain days (i.e. sea days) that might be an option to lower the cost

In Sydney maybe try Fort Louisburg
