I just booked for March 2023 and the RCCL agent to me that we are allowed to cruise cause they lifted the vaccination requirements. On our reservation it states not vaccinated. No exemptions request needed. They just need to know the status of who in the room is vaccinated.! Wohoo my kids can cruise with me. I’m vaccinated but not my 16 year old. So happy that this is finally being lifted. 

Which, I feel will continue to be the case; because, the science says vaccinated persons are leading candidates of spreading the virus, and RCG, stated, the staff will continue to be fully vaxxed & boosted... not to mentioned the 80+ percent passengers. Cruise lines would serve themselves better, to forgo it all together, like most of society.

I'm impressed Royal was first to jump.  That's not like them.  

Since these type of changes tend to cause domino effects with the other lines, I'll be curious if NCL/Carnival mirror the staggered approach or they go all out right away

Then to get rid of the Vax requirement... 

Sadly,  I called today and supposedly they emailed us June 22 that two of our family members one adult and one minor (16 years old) was denied for religious exemption cause of occupational capacity. The request was sent March 8. I have no emails In my spam folder either. Calling later so they can send me the email again. Sad that we need to cancel and it’s scheduled for next week July 23.:(.

I definitely think it's the latter and would have zero animosity for RC filling their spots with vaccinated over unvaccinated, it's easier for them and they are running a business. I'm glad they're giving unvaccinated an opportunity to cruise, even if we have to do some extra stuff. I feel really bad for the cruise industry, it upsets me that they're being subjected to (what I view as) the abuse of the CDC. I think it's incredibly unfair and it stinks of unelected officials trying to stay relevant. Whatever happens with these two cruises, I wish RC all the best and will go back to them whenever they drop the mandates, but I'll definitely be throwing my cruise dollars at whichever line drops them first. 🙂

I’m still waiting since March 8. Cruise is on July 23. Haven’t heard anything.:(

When did you request it? I requested on March 8 for July 23 Allure and haven’t heard anything.. 

Not looking for an argument but stating my thoughts that have been eating at me for awhile now:
So not only would I love to see the pre-cruise testing stop…how about allowing the unvaccinated back onboard?
I have never taken sides and I do not think it is my place to do so.  I am me…and nobody else.
I am vaccinated and boosted (twice) and got COVID for the first time 2 weeks ago after returning from a family vacation to Disney.  There were nine of us and only 2 did not get sick…both unvaccinated!  

I think this virus is pretty close to becoming our next head cold or flu.  Some will get very sick…some will have mild symptoms…some will never get sick!  So…….why are the unvaccinated still being penalized this late in the game?
I certainly hope my thoughts here do not start a war on words…but I feel better having finally stated how I think.
