Just information, again.  I didn't look up any particular sailing or ship.  I just posted the question in the FAQ of Royal's site and that is what popped up.

I'm not trying to be uppity, not one bit.  But, I don't pay extra for any drink package or specialty restaurant.  But, I do pay a lot for my cruise.  So, I don't have a horse in this race other than the desire to be as informative as I can.  I go out of my way to provide facts from the horses mouth.  Can I be wrong?  Yes of course and I admit it when I am and move on.

Hi 10-42, I am sorry.  I don't think you are being uppity or miss informed.  I know that different cruises can have different prices for the same packages. I was trying to be funny as I try to indicate with my "LOL".

I am hit or miss on the package deals.  I got the soda package for my Mr. Because he can definitely drink that much soda.  But I refuse to buy the deluxe drinking package. Really, I would need to drink 5 to 6 alcoholic drinks a day.  Yickies! If I did that,  I would be in the hospital with alcohol poisoning.  But I will be going with the 3 night dining package. Not because I don't think the MDR can do a good job. But because I am interested in trying new things.

You got to give RC credit for providing choices for all of us.  Have a great day!

I don't think this package is too much to ask.  But then, I'm a capitalist and believe a business can charge what ever they want on what they want.  The market will dictate the success or what people are willing to pay or not.  This is my opinion, yours may be different.  You said what you wanted, I said what I wanted.

It’s almost like a form of Vertigo, yet not as long lasting.  A form of Physical Therapy called manual therapy can help treat Vertigo so it should help with this as well if you deal with it for extended periods of time post cruise.  You have to do a little research to find a Phys Therapist who specializes in manual therapy as any PT who places their hands on the body (meaning all of them) can claim they’re doing manual therapy.   But if Vertigo can be treated through PT this can be as well.

I also take a day or two to find my sea legs.  I also will occasionally get Vertigo. The last time I got vertigo, my doctor introduced me to Benign Paroxysmal Positional Veritago procedure.  For my vertigo, I need to know which ear is affected and I do the procedure for just the affected side.  But I think for mal de barquement syndrome, you may need to repeat the exercise for both ears.  See the attachment - it is for the right ear.   Repeat 3 times for each ear. WARNING: Initial treatment will feel miserable.  But it does help.  After doing this a couple times a day for 2 or 3 days, the vertigo went away.  Good luck!

If the reservations are linked, you might be able to board together, depending on the port. It is really up to the port. But I would venture a yes as it is a small time difference. It is not like its more than an hour or something.

    Thank you @Ampurp85

Just to be clear - MF does not have to wait for AM, even if they are on the same reservation number.  (In other words, RC will not make her wait until the rest of her party arrives like some restaurants will do.)

  5. I am traveling with 5 other relatives on 3 different reservations, all which have been linked.  Each reservations cover 1 room with 2 people. Two reservations have a check-in time of 11 am (How sweet is that!)  The other reservation has a check in time of 11:30.  That is because one of my relatives, lets call him AM, needs to return the rental car and did not want to hog a prime check-in time or drop the rest of us off too early.  His plan is to drop the 5 of us plus luggage at the port at 11 am before returning his rental car at the Fort Lauderdale airport.  AM will than Uber back to the port. He believes he will be back in time for his 11:30 check-in time.

My question is this: AM's travel buddy, MF, will be dropped off with the rest of the party.  Will she be able to embark with the rest of the party at 11 am or does she have to wait for AM to return and embark at 11:30 am?

    Thank you.

  6. I thought long and hard about the Key.  I read a lot of blogs and watched Matt's video on what the Key covers. He said that with some effort, you can get almost the same perks that you would get with the Key.  For example, last night at Midnight, I was able to snap up an 11 am embarkation time.  I won't get the Chop Luncheon meal that the Key members will get.  I did get a really good deal on the VOOM surf & stream package.  Yeah, I won't get the prime seats for the show but Matt said you would have to show up 45 minutes early for those seats.  Well, if I show up 45 minutes early for a show, I should get some pretty good seats too.  Finally, disembarkation time - Yeah, I won't get my choice of time so I don't know if that will affect my plans on getting off the ship early to pick up a rental car and drive back for my siblings, who will be getting off later.

I guess you can guess, I did not get the Key.  One more piece of advice I read about - for first time cruisers, the Key may be a good thing to get but once you are at Diamond level, you get most of the perks anyway.

Good luck with your decision.  I wish you calm seas and fair weather on your cruise.

So, Thrill Water Park is sold out now. We will be on the Allure sailing June 19, 2022.  This is the main reason we booked this cruise:  Thrill Water park.  We have been to the other ports several times.  I know it may be crowded. But, do you think tickets may open up closer to sailing?  Getting my hopes up.  Is it worth getting off the boat?

Allure will be at Cococay on June 23rd (unless it changes yet again.) Presently there are tickets available for Thrill Waterpark.

  8. You can look at previous Cruise Compass (ship's newsletter) to see what had been offered in a previous cruise.  I have attached Allure's Cruise Compass from an April sail.

Good luck!  Make sure you post a copy of your Cruise Compass for passengers traveling after you - LIKE ME!  I will be on Allure on June 19-26.
