  1. I was on Anthem for the holiday cruise this past December, there was a crew member taking/selling specialty dinning in the esplanade on the first day. Walked right up and made my reservation for the beach club. Always better to do it asap.
  2. While I have not been on odyssey I've been on anthem twice. Dinning plans only book your first meal choice, the only show you can reserve was the cabaret but that played four times during the cruise. All the shows and activities otherwise can't be reserved or can only be done once on the ship. You should get plenty of options regardless but board as soon as possible. I was on the holiday cruise and you could still book Northstar and ifly so stay calm and roll with the options.
  3. I've ran into this problem as a family of 6. We're booked on odyssey this summer in a grand suite with a balcony next door (balconies connect but not rooms). We will get perks of the suite. While the kids were hoping as most of them are kids they will let them eat with us. It seems that on newer ships there are less and less suites for large families. While icon does have more variety ships like wonder, odyssey have less. The key is to book them as soon as they are released.
  4. Utopia is supposed to launch in 2024. The silence might imply that she could be delayed, however icon 2 is set for 2025 as well. With so many mega ships it's inevitable that one will be in Asia. Wonder was supposed to be deployed to Asia but given that areas covid response it made no sense. Utopia could end up there instead (central Park greenery on wonder was completely redone when they changed her to North America so it might be unlikely for her to moved back to Asia )
  5. You should always ask for any top shelf alcohol. If you don't they will default to the house choice.
  6. We were on oasis last year for Superbowl, we rented the private area at playmakers for our group to watch the game. With renting it we got unlimited food for what they were serving. They had platters that had wings, fries and a few other things. But thats all you could ger till after halftime. I don't believe harmony has playmakers but I don't think RC will ignore the Superbowl it will probably be on throughout the ship. At minimum at the pub where they have a small menu as well. In terms of aqua there is only sabor and johnny rockets around and I'm not sure they will give out food. You can go to guest services or if you have a suite or are diamond members speak to the concierge at either lounge to get more info. Enjoy your cruise.
  7. Were booked on Greek Isles this August, we plan to book our own tickets to arrive the Thursday before (Sunday Cruise). We have picked out an Airbnb for three nights near the colosseum to do some touring and get adjusted to the time change. This way we also have a buffer in case of a flight issue. We also plan to fly direct.
  8. if im not mistaken grand suites on oasis class on deck 12 specifically have some suites that come with their own hot tub on the balcony....
  9. I try to book on deck 10 or 11 this gives a great view and its not to far down to the esplanade or up to the pool deck/solarium. I avoid anything near a life boat, just my humble opinion.
  10. While it has been some years since i did this, there is a days inn across the street from atlantis. They, at that time had a deal where for booking a night's stay you received 4 ticket passes to atlantis for the day. We disembarked took a cab, checked in got our tickets and left to go to atlantis. we were in the hotel for all of 20 minutes. i think the room was about $200.
  11. I checked my Odyssey transatlantic October 23, we have two rooms while one was more expensive now (i expected this) the second room we saved 1,452. I called and did the digital queue and they called me back took twenty minutes. very happy....
  12. this was the first season with an oasis class (although technically delayed by covid) before that was a combination of explorer, Anthem and i believe liberty. As anthem will be in the UK/europe it will probably be either another Oasis class, perhaps wonder as she was built after oasis was updated, although there is no mention of adjustable stacks. or it will be an independence class.
  13. I've looked at the key before, if its cheaper than the internet package it definitely makes sense, although you have to figure in multiple people since the key price is the same per person while getting an internet plus one device is cheaper than two internet packages but definitely a great idea that i didn't think of. were going on the anthem for the holiday cruise next month, the key was listed for 42 a person.
  14. We booked Odyssey in October 2023 coming back to ft Lauderdale. First time i booked a cruise over a year out but we got a great deal on a balcony cabin. Although looking at the DBP and internet packages the price definitely jumps on fifteen nights
  15. its been my experience that ships built OOS (2010) or later have a good amount of outlets, regardless of suite/non-suite, with the newer ones having USB outlets too. anything older i just pack an extension.
  16. im looking to book WOS for feb 24' and watched a video of GS 1 bedroom and there did seem to be a plethora of chargers/plugs especially by the bed, I generally bring an outlet expansion and that helps. also if your phone/device works with a charging pad that's another option and has less cables.
  17. Quantum class was step back in size after Oasis class and was designed for colder climates. Its not too crazy to think they would build a new smaller class to replace the aging ships. At least the ones that it no longer pays to amplify or upgrade. Given that Celebrity is a sister brand the edge class already provides a blueprint if they want to go that route.
  18. The prices are high, new class new ship....and high demand. the biggest price differences are in the suites. prices for inside rooms compared to the same time cruise on WOS seem to be about 100 to 300 more per average person for the lowest priced room while for example a grand suite priced for 15k as opposed to the same time on WOS for 7500. Ill wait for it to be more affordable, it looks great but my budget can bring me more on other ships.
  19. I agree it is yes and no. Yes there is more for kids...larger water park, the "boardwalk" now becoming a giant pool/play area for younger kids, adventure ocean...however they are also all in the back of the ship. There are numerous pool areas and unlike oasis class they are not small pools all in the same vicinity but distinct styles both for everyone and audits only saying nothing of the elevated pool facing the wake of the ship. There is also the area in the aqua dome that appears to have a pool but seems to have a very chill feel in the renderings Being a family of six it has been difficult to find good rooms without taking multiple rooms. and on the newer ships they seem to have eliminated the grand suite 2 bedrooms which worked well. the infinite balconies look exciting especially for families of four if you want more space but still want fresh air. while there are no solo rooms how many ships in the fleet actually have those?? time will tell, but the ship will have all the usual places and some new ones.
  20. While I do agree that it wont work, Orlando is the second stop and after that is Miami, after Miami the ship goes to Nassau and coco cay the foreign places and then back north. in either case she has found a separate solution where she will take the older son on cruise in January by himself which happens to be 11 nights. she sees this as win win for her
  21. Thanks, I checked its in person only. I think he will have to see if he can move it up or she will have to go without him.
  22. I would agree, but I do know that are time when you book flights through RC that if something happens they get you to the next port, but that is through RC and part of the point of doing that.
  23. A friend of mine wants to join us on anthem for the '22 holiday cruise 12/18. She just found out that her oldest son has a final on the second day of the cruise, is it possible for him to board in Orlando? I understand its not the initial embarkation but what if someone missed the time in general due to say a flight wouldn't they be able to head to the next port....? thanks
  24. I am in the same spot with the diamond drinks and with so much time on ship and coco cay I think I might get the deluxe for me and the refreshment for my wife.
