Wow.  As long as people are defending disgusting behavior and criticizing other folks as germ-o-phobes, I will continue to wash my hands at every opportunity and otherwise take care of myself.  There is a huge difference between camps on the necessity of smart hygiene.

I saw something disgusting last night, in the elevator.
A young gentleman, in his
 20s (I am guessing) not only couldn't manage to put his mask over his mouth or nose, but was sucking on his key card!  (I mean it was all the way in and out of his mouth, like a lollipop.)
I could only watch in horror, thinking about the poor unsuspecting staff member who may touch it next!  
If that guy doesn't care about his health, that is one thing, but to endanger an innocent person who may touch it and get sick (a cold or anything that can be passed by saliva) is another issue all together!  No hand sanitizer will help in this case! 😷🤧🤮🤢🤒

My take on the current health and safety protocols when it comes to wearing face masks onboard.
 
 

It's really a question of what matters to you, and how much you are willing to pay for it.  Based on what you stated, I would leave it alone.  Have a great cruise!

So I got an email that I can RoyalUp to either a Junior Suite, an OceanView-No Balcony 2 BR or a Spacious Balcony room from a regular balcony ocean view room.  Other than the extra space I would be getting in the room, not seeing too much of a benefit to paying the extra money at this time.  A Junior Suite, as nice as it is, only gets a few extras like a robe and nice toiletries.  Oh and a coffee machine, which would be nice.  But I wouldn't be eligible for any extra points.  
This is my first Royal cruise, so I think starting off with a balcony was nice as it is.  And maybe another time, if they offer double points again, i'll go for the Junior then.  
Do I bid or not bother?

Really, in our current circumstances, with the fate of cruising hanging on every sailing, you think the Captain is going to make his own decisions on how to apply Covid protocols?  Because he wants to be the one hung out to DRY if something goes wrong on his watch??  What kind of koolaid are you drinking????

Why would you want to cruise like this?  Let alone 30 times!  You CAN get refunds as soon as protocols for each cruise is announced.  You say yourself you would not have booked these cruises had you known the testing requirements so why are you still doing it?

Maritime law has NOTHING TO DO with the crew enforcing ships protocols and they most certainly do not have to wait until a passenger complains to do so.  

I tell so many people about this service during the course of a work day.  It solves a lot of problems

I completely agree!!!  I go where I believe I am safe.  Unfortunately, not all people like to abide by the rules.  Hence, I have to take matters into my own hands.  I have since been staying in my cabin, enjoying my views, getting lots of work done on-line, and having room service.
I go with the flow and adjust to my environment.  Must be why I am a survivor, huh?!

The ship has rules for masks and I was simply trying to eat in a very peaceful area of the ship during a time when other venues were packed with people.  If people cannot follow the rules for their children 2+ to be masked, then why is that MY problem?!  If you cannot control people you bring on a ship, maybe the ship isn't the place for them?!  or, MAYBE you should keep your child in the areas where masks are NOT required, if you don't like the required masking areas?!  I dunno, just a crazy thought ...

I’m sorry you have to cruise with such restrictive personal needs that require you to take verbal action whenever you see a masking violation coming your way. Must be immensely uncomfortable keeping your head on a swivel so that you can identify and react to an approaching threat. After all, it’s your health on the line, and that can be significantly affected by a wayward breath from a passing infectee not wearing a mask or not wearing it perfectly. I mean, what are the odds, right? It’s a shame that your vacation/s have become so burdensome that you might feel constantly under threat for your life. 
Maybe cruising during this time of unknowns and change may not be the perfect time. After all, it should be a risk vs reward balance, should it not?
Also, by interacting with these masking violators and the resulting arguments that ensue…such as you laughing and them screaming…doesn’t that cause you to have more close contact with them. Isn’t that dangerous on your part? Maybe best to just avoid any close contact by retreating. Maybe your ‘I don’t play’ attitude is dangerous to your health. 
I don’t mean to accuse anyone of being confrontational…I know what it’s like because I sometimes get accused of being sarcastic. Like now.😉

@ellcee Exactly, I have seen exactly one 3 yo comply with their mask and he was basically enticed with the promise of ice cream after dinner.
