  1. Initially I expect there will be some questions and prolonged check in experiences while it gets sorted out for anyone who doesn't have what the majority are using in that region. Over time there will be patterns that will support different documentation standards around the globe. What the typically cruiser is using in the UK versus what a typical cruiser uses in the US versus a cruiser boarding in Cypress for example. Cruising during the restart is going to have some speed bumps along the way.
  2. FAQ from June 28 here: https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2021_2022/RTS_FAQs.pdf 4. What vaccines are accepted? Vaccines that are fully approved or authorized for emergency use by a national regulatory authority (such as the U.S. FDA), or global health organization (such as the World Health Organization) are accepted. Please be aware that certain countries we sail from or visit during a voyage may require a specific vaccine, and only those travelers vaccinated with the requisite vaccine will be considered fully vaccinated. Be sure to review your departure country's requirements or consult our guest materials prior to sailing for these requirements
  3. I'm glad to see this is happening as I had heard a rumor that TA's were told they would honor cruise planner pricing VIA an OBC difference and it would be automatic. When I first heard that I was curious if it was true. Now it appears to be so. Great news.
  4. Pre-pandemic luggage tags would appear 30 - 45 days out. During the restart all bets are off.
  5. When logging in on the website they'll appear near where you go into the cruise planner.
  6. I don't know that I've ever received an email with luggage tags, I generally have to log in and retrieve them. Given the crazy times I'd wait until you are under a week out to inquire if they are still missing.
  7. 3 nights solo in any cheap cabin gets you 12 points. Time to take one for the team ?
  8. I think we need more information to answer this. First off, download the apps before your cruise while you are at home or on a wifi connection. Then there should be no charges assuming your wifi doesn't charge you. If you download anything, including apps, over cellular you might be charged but that depends on your cell plan. I have an unlimited plan that includes a lot of data in most countries so no charge to download apps for me. Your cell plan may be different than mine so YMMV. If you are out of the country and refused or forgot to download any apps before leaving the US try to find a wifi hotspot like at a coffee shop, bar or hotel. The best plan is to download any cruise apps before you leave the US.
  9. Not to rub salt in the pleasant situation but here is another reason to consider booking with a refundable deposit as you move forward. Non-refundable saves money if you cruise but costs money if you cancel. That's the trade off when choosing NRD.
  10. Indy specific protocols here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise?dPort=galveston No mention of a refund option like Freedom. I think CWC is the entire reservation or not at all. I've not heard of them allowing one person to CWC but leaving the booking intact for everyone else. The important thing is not ruining friendships but the fate of the cruise appears to rest on the decision made by that friend. If they decide to vaccinate now the cruise can go for everyone. If they choose not to vaccinate and you sail without the friend their cruise fare isn't refundable or cancellable except for their taxes and port fees. Who paid for their portion of the cruise? Will this approach ruin the friendship or insult the other family? If you choose to CWC the cruise you all get FCC in your own names (including the friend who will get FCC in their name).
  11. In the past obtaining an account wasn't difficult. Assigned status would be "Pre-Gold". However simply having an account doesn't qualify for this promo. Having Gold status or higher qualifies one for the double points promo. Still, knowing Royal, some "Pre-Gold" may end up getting more points so who knows... it's worth a shot, but don't be upset if it doesn't work out. YMMV.
  12. More from the FB group. Those that refused to cancel received another call and were told they were now cancelled with a full refund and 75% FCC. Still no word how they were chosen.
  13. This is a difficult time for everyone involved. Cruising during the initial restart (basically most of 2021) will require a bunch of adaptability. It won't be for everyone. Without getting into the protocols, if they are right or not, who is to blame, etc. - we are where we are. Where you are it seems is a vaccinated family with a friend on the booking who at the moment is not. That isn't much different than being a vaccinated parent of a child under age 12 who isn't eligible for any vaccine at the moment. With that being said your choice is CWC and postpone into the future or have a discussion with the other family and come to a consensus with them that doesn't ruin any relationships. We all want this to be over but it isn't, yet. Until our governments declare otherwise we all have to accept to play by their rules.
  14. Cruising from the US has been such a roller coaster ride... that isn't finished yet... but does seem to be past the wildest parts of the ride... I hope. Totally feel for you folks down under.
  15. Try having a cabin right across from him. I just want to know... How did his head get tilted? From 2018: Must have been some rough seas... or from when he had a mask on.
  16. Your login allows 1 device to be connected at a time. If your share your credentials with another cabin they will be able to kick you off at any time.
  17. Full suites such as an Owners Suite on Harmony come with complimentary Voom for each guest. Each guest in the suite can create their own login. It is available 24 x 7 for the duration of the cruise so once you create your login and get connected it will work like being connected to wifi in your home. Since it connects over satellite it won't be as fast as your home wifi but you will have internet access 24 x 7. Checking in for your flights on SWA will be no problem. It works on CocoCay too. If there is heavy rain the satellite signal can become blocked by the rain so there are times when the internet isn't available but generally speaking it works quite well.
  18. Yes, typically 4:30pm to 8pm or 5pm to 8:30pm on some ships.
  19. Only Oasis class offer Suite Lounge complimentary beer, wine and bottled water 11am to 11pm so that will be missing from the SL on Anthem.
  20. Congratulations! CWC is available through April 30, 2022. At the moment CWC isn't an option for a June 2022 cruise. Worst case is a standard cancel that carries a $100 fee per person with the rest of the deposit made available as an FCC. However if your TA calls they might do something for you but you'll need to know the ship and sail date for the replacement cruise. You can price a future cruise with an infant by supplying any name. "Baby" with your last name will suffice, then change the name at a later date. This will lock in the rate for the 3rd guest in your cabin. Not all cabins can accommodate 3 guests and a baby is considered a full guest as the baby consumes one spot in the lifeboat allocated to a cabin. Every guest regardless of age or size has their own spot in a lifeboat due to international conventions and regulations. Unlike an airplane there is no "lap child" rule for a cruise or lifeboat. If your existing cabin category contains an even number such as a 4V interior or 2D balcony that's not going to work for 3 guests.
  21. You can execute a Cruise With Confidence cancellation for the other cabin and those guests will eventually get an FCC in their name but you won't be able to use it to rebook those guests in your newly acquired 2BR suite. You can use it for another cruise though. Keep in mind that Royal Up could occur the day before the cruise in which case the cruise is ineligible for CWC (must be at least 48 hours). The first sailings for Adventure of the Seas appear to have around 1/3 capacity but I wouldn't use that as a defacto standard. Royal has stated they will increase capacity over time. Other ships will restart differently and as the situation evolves not even Royal knows today what capacity limits will be used two weeks from now or two months from now on any given ship.
  22. Most people will be where they would have been had the pandemic never happened. Like all things in life there will be those that try to find the dark side of this promotion. I don't see it. I only see good in it. I cruise a lot and have no concerns about the effect.
