I've had some time to digest what has transpired - limited to what the public can view on the Court's docket. I'll try to summarize. I note that Matt has written a piece on the front page that covers some of this. I'll try to contextualize it in a time line from the court's docket starting when the case was referred to mediation:
Thank you for the update and helping us all to understand what it going on.

One tidbit from it: 4 requests approved for simulated voyages with 6 under review. 22 vessels and 5 ports with approved agreements. 2 CSO certificates issued under highly vaccinated terms.
Do we know which ships are in the 22? I know Freedom is.

Interesting. I just saw that last week the CDC gave Carnival the ok for test cruises out of Port Canaveral, Miami and Galveston. I would assume that RC has already been given the ok for Port Canaveral as well.

I still don't get what they are trying to settle on.
It's not like they're bickering over back pay, back taxes, alimony or child custody.
Exactly!

If my interpretation of the latest document filing is accurate the mediation is still on going. Session on May 27 was 11 hours, 10 am to 9 pm. Will resume June 1.

True. I find it interesting that the minutes stated this:
PROCEEDINGS: SETTLEMENT CONFERENCE HELD (VIA ZOOM) Settlement conference is continued to Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
Settlement conferences are different from mediation in that settlement conferences are usually shorter and typically have fewer roles for participation of the parties or for consideration of non-legal interests.
Maybe they are getting close to finishing this thing off.

Can I assume that any cruise that is a "Test" cruise will be unvaccinated? And any cruise that is not a "test" cruise will be fully vaccinated? I will opt for the latter, thank you
According to the CDC:
-
The cruise ship operator must ensure all volunteer passengers have either:
- Proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 using an U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-authorized vaccine or a vaccine product that has received emergency use listing from the World Health Organization (WHO); or
- If not fully vaccinated, written documentation from a healthcare provider or self-certified statement that the volunteer passenger has no medical conditions that would place the volunteer at high risk for severe COVID-19 as determined through CDC guidance.

Mine would have to be a speed boat ride/tour at Charlotte Amalie. Great ride and we got plenty wet in the process.

It's not news.
There was 1,600 cases of Covid in Florida yesterday and that's a GOOD day.
Media needs to stop treating ONE case on a cruise ship as news. It's not, and all this does is perpetuate the stereotype of "floating petri dish".
So true, it is not news at all. One case and the media would love to see cruising never start back up. They love to hype the negative.
I would not be surprised if the day is sunny and one cloud appears and the media say what a horrible cloudy day it is.

Actually this is Florida saying "We don't feel that these shore agreements are necessary"
Very true, since they are saying you don't have to send them to us, send them directly to the CDC.

Have I really been waiting this long for my next cruise?

Congress seems to get it.
Now if only they can give the CDC a kick in the rear so that Alaska cruises can actually sail.

Gotta think Miami is a shoo-in. A toss up between Everglades and Tampa for the other
Miami is a shoo-in, considering Miami and Port Canaveral are the #1 and #2 cruise ports in the world.

Two ships collided. One was carrying a load of red paint, the other a load of blue paint. All the passengers were marooned.
