I have no concerns over mRNA vaccines. My wife was out of it for 2 days after each of her Pfizer shots but she's to some underlying medical conditions that made her side effects not at all a surprise. I'd prefer J&J just for the convenience of one shot.

Call It: First Cruise Sails.......????

The cruise lines would have to be able to do test cruises this month in order to be doing revenue cruises in June. -
I have July booked with FCCs. If that fails, I'll just roll it into a March cruise. Thought about a Thanksgiving cruise but airfare will be insane.

If Israel is allowing those under 16 to cruise without a vaccine, then there's no chance the USA will ban those under 16.
-
The only reason I'm getting the vaccine is for cruising. While I personally don't think they'll be mandated in the USA for cruises, I do think it'll make life easier on board (or at least to get on board)

This could be good news. Gottlieb has been a covid pessimist and he's also the co-chair of the RC Healthy Sail panel -
They also said they'd respond quickly to any requests to begin test cruises, too.

I've got a room at the Radisson for my July cruise, should I be so lucky that it sails Edit: I forgot, it's the Country Inn, not Radisson.

September. The CDC will continue to hold the cruise industry hostage. -
European sailing with kids....age?
smokeybandit replied to Rose778's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Definitely not too young since they're old enough to remember the trip. -
I used Air2Sea for the first time

Not sure what is even right anymore with billing

I'm still waiting for my tax/fees refund from my canceled March cruise. -

I meant because Southwest isn't in A2S I haven't seen many good deals on other airlines. Though Southwest is changing to allow their fares to appear in the booking engines. But for international flight A2S seems ideal. -
I can't see the CDC blessing the results of a test cruise in that amount of time.

I'm partial to Southwest, so I've never found any good prices on Air2Sea. That said, that bias wouldn't help me for a flight to England. -
Others may disagree, but traveling for a cruise sure seems essential travel to me.

I still think we need 3 months from when the lines finally get CDC blessing to start test cruises until any revenue cruising starts. So IMO June cruises are still firmly in the crosshairs

We've been in "What do I need to do to sail" mode since November though. -
Wrong Cruise Line, but still a good sign?

Does RC pay for the transportation to/from the employees' home countries before and after a contract? Could be a challenge to get the crew to ships if they have to pay their own way after a year with no income. -
I can't see too many employee families willing or able to fly half way across the globe for a test cruise. I would think it'd be high ranking C&As as well as top travel agents and other market VIPs. I think the open registration for test cruises was nothing but a nice PR stunt.
