  1. What that article says happened: cruise lines were about to pull out of Ensenada for good, Ensenada begged them to stay What really happened: After canceling 1 set of port stops, cruise lines returned with no issue.
  2. My only attempt at a Royal Up got me an upgrade from a GS1 to a GS2 for $580 when the original difference between those two cabins when I first booked the GS1 was $3000. I'll take that as a deal.
  3. With the recent changes, wellness check is now more of a CYA check for the cruise lines.
  4. There was no suite line in Vancouver. It's all one big zoo.
  5. cruiseplum's prices can be a day or two stale, but it gives you a good estimate when comparing one cruise vs. another.
  6. So really nothing changes for protocols other than unvaxxed can now go on those cruises. But that does align with the changes cruise lines are making. Now will the Bahamas do the same?
  7. I'm going to guess NOAA won't get too many comments to support this, especially since whales are rare there anyway https://www.cruisehive.com/new-speed-rule-could-pose-problem-for-cruise-ships/79299
  8. Adventure with that itinerary
  9. Tip well and you may not need to use coupons
  10. Bahamas, Bahamas, Bahamas. Until they relax restrictions on vax requirements for 12+ (which I expect will be soon since they follow CDC guidelines) that's why Florida isn't yet included.
  11. In the end all these cruise lines will be in the same place. RC can afford to wait it out a bit more until they get the cover from the CDC (which is coming for congregate settings) and cover from the island nations who are about to change their guidance since they follow CDC guidance anyway.
  12. A Bahamas rep said Sunday the cruise lines are pushing for them to relax requirements.
  13. For as far north a you were, that's no surprise.
  14. The CD on Navigator, Mey Lau, wow talk about stage presence. She owned that spotlight. By far the most vibrant and energetic CD I've ever had.
  15. The alcohol free beers have taken a real step up in recent years. Still not a 1 for 1 replacement, but solid
  16. The problem (from a sales point of view) with N/A beers is that they still have alcohol in them, even if a mere trace.
  17. My last couple cruises there were new people on board, including first tours. Just a long and slow process from interview to hire to training to gov't paperwork to getting them on board.
  18. Though their website still says all 12+ cruise passengers entering the bahamas must be vaccinated.
  19. You really need to read the fine print on these cruise packages. If you get one without data, you have to turn off mobile data on your phone or you'll get one heck of a surprise bill. Even if you get the one with data, 200MB can go quick. Also the unlimited texting is only outgoing. You'll get charged for any incoming texts. If you need to be connected all the time, I'd pay more and get Voom.
  20. No real difference between premium accommodations and loyalty status than any other travel industry. Airlines are no different. Same for hotel
  21. "Guardian Business learned on Sunday that cruise lines have reached out to the Bahamian government asking for COVID-19 protocols to be further loosened to the benefit of their cruise passengers." I see you RC...
  22. I still think they're just waiting for the new guidance on congregate settings from the CDC to get rid of 6+ night testing. As it is now with the 3 day window, someone could test negative, test positive, and be testing negative again by the time that 6 night cruise ends.
  23. I wonder what Disney's booking numbers look like since the restart.
